They said the same shit about Dirk for 10 years.
And then Dirk had a televised program on ESPN "Die Entscheidung" where he said he was taking his talents to the riverwalk and joined Tim Duncan and Russell Westbrook on the Spurs.
They said the same shit about Dirk for 10 years.
What players in NBA history have actually made drastic improvements to their FT percentage over time though? C-Webb and Malone are the only two guys who come to mind that went from garbage to decent/good FT shooters. Seems like players are who they are at the FT line. There are a handful of anomalies who can make that kind of drastic improvement but I wouldn't ever bet on Blake being that guy not because of some kind of perceived flaws to his game or work ethic, just because history isn't on his side.
Not sure how you define drastic but the first one off the top of my head was Tyson Chandler.
Mostly a mid 50's to low 60 percent shooter who is now in the 70's.
but you are right that it seems that most players rarely improve much if at all.
I still don't understand how NBA players cannot all shoot at least 70% on free throws. You're getting paid millions of dollars and you can't get easy, free points.
chris palmer
Crazy: Derrick Williams 1st player ever to shoot 90% FG (min 10 FGA) and 100% on 3s (min 4) & FT (min 5) in a game. via @ESPNStatsInfo

The really interesting thing is that you'd expect free throw shooting to increase all around over the decades..... Better understanding of shooting, better training, LASIK surgery etc.
Yet it's been constantly the same for like 50 years now.
Michael Beasley and Derrick Williams tonight combine for 54 points on 20-25 FG and 7-7 3PT?
Who the fuck was guarding them??
lakers might only lose to a lebron team by ten now
so after bitching about wade retaliating for cheap fouls
you want them to retaliate for a cheap foul
no i agree they should and i would
but im not the one crying like a baby at wade in the first place for doing the same thing
literal hypocrisy

Dishing out a hard foul at the ASG is classless. You can defend it all you want but to me shit was wrong.
No hypocrisy here, at all. I question why you would even call that out...are you tired or.trolling?
...wade was fouled cheaply twice in the same game and then retaliated
...you are bitching about him retaliating
...and calling for other to retaliate against him
either you dont like retaliation period, in which case you should stop asking for the lakers to break wade, or you like retaliation, in which case stfu about wade already goddamn
cant pick and choose depending on if a player is playing for the heat or not
all im sayin, tryin to have your cake and eat it too
Wade literally thinks it's a foul when someone breathes in his direction.

First off I'm Cavs age, neither team matters to me.
Secondly Wade wasn't fouled."hard." you're grasping for straws here.
third The reason Wade needs to be dealt with is that fucking mouth of his. He's a petulant little brat and all that's wrong with this current entitled generation of nba stars. Where's Laimbeer when you really need him?
It's these factual hard hitting rebukes that keep you at the end of the nba-gaf bench...smh kids lol
griffin and paul both score 30+ while jordan has a 14-14 game and they loose to the wolves with kevin love not scoring? what kind of bizzaro world did i wake up in?
While I can't fault him for a smart play I can say the NBA needs more Durants and Roses and less Lebrons, Wades, and Howards.
They bitch, cry, and demand "all eyes on me" like 6 year old girls.
I vote for Dwizzle
Oh I see so you're old school tough guy?

Yeah, the NBA needs more boring and dull personalities. And more guys who love their mommy and are nice kids.
I hope you have fun with that league.
Height of the NBA was late 80's/Early 90's when it was full of these "dull" personalities. Now? Struggle...People who actually spend money can't get behind this pansy ass me beofre the game bullshit. Which is why I like Irving..class and skills.
Hey hey, don't blame me when the league contracts teams. So humble.
mind is kind of blown that the rockets are 21-14
Rockets just gotta get a higher seed so if the Wolves sneak into the playoffs they'll have an easy series against Houston.
I love the game, not the names.
Just saw this: Landy Fields sings Bruno Mars, Knicks Style
Classic.

Dull personalities? You mean when there was an insane amount of trash talking and thuggery going on every game? Or how nearly every superstar to ever exist in the game was polarizing in some fashion?
And you do realize behind Durant's "humbleness" he fishes for fouls and complains on court as much as any other star in the league? But I guess the latter doesn't matter to you as much now because he loves his mommy.
and I had no idea you went to watch a basketball game to watch someone be classy...

Michael Jordan and Karl Malone are among the nicest, most humble players to ever play the game.
