So Paramount buys the rights of New Kid en then make a Spongebob movie out of it? Pretty disappointing for the guys at Penny Arcade I guess.
yep. Don't get the "good luck with that comment." It's seriously like the most profitable cartoon ever. I'm reading a book by the creator of Rocco's Modern Life right now. They hired the SpongeBob guy to do their animation at first then he moved onto SpongeBob.
This is not the first movie.

Im 26 and I love watching Spongebob.
There is alot of adult humor, jokes and refrences that the kids dont understand or miss.
I think one of my favourite episodes was where they think they accidently killed the heath inspector so they have to take his corpse and go out in the middle of the night and bury him but shit goes wrong and the the police get involved and they have to try and cover it up lol

How are recent Spongebob episodes?
The first few seasons are probably the best "kids cartoon" I have ever seen, but the quality has dropped over time. Perhaps they should leave it at just one movie.

Not that good...* stopped watching after the 7th ish season...* Stick to the old ones.
The first one was great. Unfortunately past the movie the show got terrible. But up to season three still holds up extremely well.
The movie was meant to be the series finale. All the episodes of Spongebob that aired before and after it are supposed to be set before the movie. :/
I kinda liked that because it meant that no matter how bad the newer episodes could get it still ends sequentially with what was a really fun movie where Spongebob actually gets to be a manager. Naturally I'm expecting the movie's existance to be ignored in favor of this new on e since by the time it comes out the movie will be a decade old.
The creator stepped back from his Executive Producer role after the movie wrapped up.
I kinda liked that because it meant that no matter how bad the newer episodes could get it still ends sequentially with what was a really fun movie where Spongebob actually gets to be a manager. Naturally I'm expecting the movie's existance to be ignored in favor of this new on e since by the time it comes out the movie will be a decade old.
