Thriller bark was fantastic arc in the anime(ussop vs persona was epic,bink sake was legendary,oz vs straw hats fab and god damn at that zorro kuma end)

i do. i kinda wish the main character would go full ghoul more, and i guess with the current arc that can happen.
I read some of the first series and the recent chapters of the second, it's decent fun, not as good as TLR though.

Yea, fuck that shit. So disappointing for a manga that had potential. This is the curse of an author stretching out their work. I'd say it is a perfect topic for Bakuman but Bakuman is already covering it to the letter.

Well, of course when you make a montage of all the big budget, high action scenes something's going to look good, but Thriller Bark did not look even remotely like that for all 40 episodes. Thriller Bark is where the animators started getting really stingy (along with getting close to the source material) and the pacing of regular dialogue suffers greatly from painfully exaggerated pauses and reaction shots.
And Pirate Docking does look bad.

The OP anime started to get that way from the CP9 arc to tell the truth along with adding extra crap .
Which is why i hardly watch it expect for few parts which look good every now and then .

It's been a while since I read that arc, but I don't remember Thriller Bark being like 1000 chapters full of BORING.

KHR changes from a school comedy to a (poor) battle shounen 2 dozen or so chapters in, but Tsuna remains as bland a character as ever.

Eh, that's for you to decide but as I said in an earlier post, aside from a short arc it's mostly Aladdin and Alibaba (who is a teen) together.

To be fair, there's a lot of good ideas in some of the battles, but the execution generally falls apart at the end, especially in the bigger tournament arcs.

Without pointing out moment of bad animation (visual evidence) you come off as someone thats just talking out there ass.
Thriller bark looks a lot better then any of the arcs that came before it(yes better then water7), toei got all there best animator on it(plus other like tomita that don't normal work on one piece).
So what did it mostly look like, a large part of it where the fight(& ussop,chopper nami being scared out there minds) with the superbly animated 1 hour straw hats vs oz fight,30min ussop vs persona fight ,zoro vs ryumma, robin&chopper vs dr hogback &zombies(animated by nakoi tate plus others) any scene with moira shadow and persona’s ghost had nice fluid animation (most done by nakoi tate).

You may not like the arc but no way it had bad animation saying otherwise is a load of bullshit.
does it get better? I read the first 2 chapters a while back, not bad but not my cup of tea, seamed like just gag manga with heavy moe art style(am talking really moe here) and some gene that comes out a lamp loses his powers near girls(i can see this shtick being overused to halt the plot and annoying).

It does get better. The art style wont change much and the gag feel is only in the beginning. The manga deals with serious matters like slavery and politics. The gene thing is not overused.

Tsuna is my favorite protagonist. I dont see how he is bland. I think the he is the most relatable, realistic, or maybe I find him that hes just like me irl.
Only issue with Reborn is Amano's odd art at times, or maybe she lets the assistants do scenes. Close up scenes of the characters look amazing but let them get a foot feet away in the distance and they look terrible. Most consistent compelling character design in Shonen Jack.

Yeah, much better IMO. There are some gags but it mostly focuses on adventure, battles, politics, "philosophy" and the characters later on. The shtick as you call it is mentioned only twice I think.
It's worth reading up til the Student Council changes imo, just goes downhill from there.

I remember watching the anime to this years ago , did know know the manga was translated to end .
Another manga to read later on when i need something to do .
This I gotta see. Loved that fight during the manga, and to see that they had a superior animation team work on it makes me really happy.

Come on... the mangaka made and finished it on his deathbed.... And he managed to wrap it up nicely and the art that we got did not suffer from it.

Nami still hadn't gotten over the MC. I mean it would've been okay if she moved on by then but she still had lingering feelings for him AFAIR.

Authors passing away at a young age is really depressing. Both Kaze no Stigma and MM!'s authors passed away recently as well, it's devastating..
Those are some nice suggestions. I can only hope more people read Ushio to Tora.

There are a couple of things I'm a little confused about and a couple of things that are annoying, but I'm liking where this is going and overall it's being an enjoyable read so far.
Shioon keeping getting up after that beating was intense. He just had to keep doing it until he finally was able to hit that dude and as he did, he collapsed for good. He might be a weakling with acquired powers, but the change in his resolution is something I can appreciate. Makes him a lot better than the way he was back in volume 1, anyways.
I also like how the Sunwoo girl has the hots for him but acts all pissy. Makes for funny comedic scenes and she becomes cute in those.
I just wish this wouldn't be a bi-monthly publication here alternated with Aflame inferno, because I'd prefer to read it monthly.
I just read this and enjoyed it a lot. The two siblings were pretty great.
So what exactly happened in the end? Were they still in the prime world, did they jump back or did the two worlds get mixed?
It's funny because I thought that Taisuke was hooking up with Nami initially and I got upset because Megumi gets shafted because she's childhood friend. Since I thought that prematurely and the ending reveals otherwise, I got mad that Nami got shafted after :lol
:lol Tbh I wasn't a big fan of Megumi from the beginning so I was happy when Nami came into the story. She turned out to be a pretty good character so I kept reading in hopes of seeing something develop between the two but Nami just kept getting burnt...
Still a good read, though. There were a few points where it got boring but one can't complain with the scarce amount of completed manga that are at least decent.
