you missed the playoffs by 2 games and you were 5 games out of the divisional race. you won 4 of your 8 games in OT. in your other 4 wins were by 7, 4, 3 and 2 points. i don't expect you to get to 8 wins again this year.

Because teams don't get any better, right? I expect more than 8 wins and if we get Peyton and he plays like Peyton, I guarantee we pass 8. Since when does it matter how much you win by? If you want to play by that game, why don't you look up our losses and see how many we lost by 2, 3, and other single possession point differentiation. You're really reaching now. If I wasn't about to leave the house for most of the evening I'd check how much you guys won by for most of your games. I don't imagine you have many blow outs.

@ Pigeon: At this point, this ONLY way to accept the signing of Kolb is to think Fitz wouldn't have done the new deal if we didn't get him. I'll sacrifice a second round pick to lock Fitz up the rest of his career. Don't miss DRC.

those are your words! remember? the 49ers offense is putrid and we can never improve with alex smith? so by your logic, no, teams don't get better they can only get worse.

Fitz not signing a contract unless Kolb got on board never went through my thought process until this post. I dunno about that rational of thinking.

I'm hearing Jay Glazer is reporting Washington gets the #2 pick?

EDIT: Here's the tweet:

Jay Glazer ‏ @JayGlazer

Major scoopage: Redskins have agreed to a trade w Rams for #2 pick of draft. Rams and Skins swap first rounders this yr w Rams also getting 2 future #1s and additional picks

EDIT #2: Too bad, I didn't want to have to hate RGIII since he seemed so nice.

If Rolle did not block fitz on the harrison return they would have won the superbowl!

If the Packers didn't use steroids, or our center didn't get hurt, or Ben didn't overthrow Wallace, or Mendy didn't fumble we would have won our 7th Superbowl! We will have to settle for 6 Superbowl wins and 2 losses (a Superbowl loss is the equivalent of 2 NCAA Championships, 5 State Championships, 10 Division titles or 25 NFL Championships pre-Superbowl).

Do Panthers fans hate John Kasay?

No we love John Kasay. He's an original Panther and he's done a lot for the franchise, the city of Charlotte, etc etc.

It's just...We were that close. That close.

I remember it like it was yesterday. Delhomme just led us down the field and we got the score that tied the game at 29 with a few minutes left on the clock. We had all the momentum on our side. If we stopped the Patriots on their next drive and took the game to overtime, we were going to win that game. But JK kicked the ball out of bounds on the kickoff giving Tom Brady the ball on his forty. He drives them into field goal position and then Vinatieri does what Vinatieri does.

In the end, it wasn't even Kasay's fault we lost. The defense was still given the opportunity to make a stop and they blew it. That kickoff was just something that sticks in our minds and Kasay has become a very popular scapegoat. In reality, I think Kasay is more on the hook for that FG miss in the Meadowlands in 2008 against the Giants that would have won us the game and guaranteed the 1 seed in the NFC.

Granted, he's not the one who threw six picks against the Cardinals in the playoffs

This is the worst day of football in fucking years.
Do I need to post a Super Bowl pic? We just won the big game man. Fuck everything else.:D

Oh and details as per schefter:

Washington Redskins traded three first-round draft picks and a second-round pick to St. Louis for second overall pick in a trade first reported
They better hope to god he doesn't end up a bust. Ridiculous.

With minimal draft picks now Shanny and Allen need to get their shit together and start making them count. Also Danny needs to open his wallet for some young FAs to complement RG. Mike Wallace please? This team needs a young WR bad.

Holy shit, I can't believe the Redskins beat the Browns, Browns fans better hope they get Flynn or they should be out for blood after this whole thing.

Wait 3 first round picks? Shit Rams just got a bounty for that pick. It could be worth it for the Skins if RG3 is a stud. Either way good deals for both teams, surprised it was done this early in the off season though.

I knew the either the Skins or Brownies would give in. They had to. Look how excited Scooter is. Finally someone to turn on the game and be excited to watch. I felt, just from watching the draft stuff go by, that there was a big falloff after Luck, RG3, and Kalil. There was no way to trade down but still grab Kalil. So they might as well get what they could. I hope Tannehill is still there at #6 so they can drop down further

First 3 picks are basically locked

Colts: Luck
Redskins: RG3
Vikes: Kalil

Browns are basically on the clock

Wallace ain't going to the Redskins. Though that would be a nice present to a rookie qb. That and a RB.

Grover Cleveland said:
He wasn't going to the NFC East anyway.
I've been saying it since the minute it was reported that the Skins was supposedly a "likely" destination. The Jets and Redskins were never an option. Peyton is not going to go anywhere near his brother.

Fucking fire sale going on in Indy right now.

Everything must go.

Except the new Lucas Oil stadium.

And you can probably put in a silent bid on that.

With what first round pick as compensation?

Lost in all of this? Mark Sanchez just signed a 5 year extension with the Jets.

:jnc

The Sanchez deal:

Brian Costello ‏

He has an additional $10M in potential escalation so the maximum value of the 3 new years is $50.5M and over the whole deal is $68.25M. #nyj
