I find it a bit incredible that PM would specifically request to get rid of one of the top receivers in the league in order to get his signature in Miami (if those reports are true). But I guess this is a situation where BMarsh's reputation as a bit of a nutcase and a teamkiller overcame his obvious talent on the field. Plus it frees up room for the Dolphins to get Wayne, which I'm sure is another one of Peyton's "demands".

Now, if (when) Peyton goes to Denver or Arizona, the Dolphins are screwed big-time.

I agree with Marshall Faulk saying on the NFL Network this trade is to bring in Peyton Manning. Faulk knows Manning, having played with him in Indy. Doesn't mean he's right here (or that I am). But there's clearly something big behind trading Marshall, because the Dolphins got crushed in the trade. Two third-round picks for a guy who has cap-friendly contracts for Chicago? The 49ers picked up Parish Cox and resigned Tavares Gooden, who was vital to our special teams last year.

I'm not sure about the Cox pick up, he was one the highest rated CB's to come out in 2010. Off field issues got him removed from the NFL though. He has a lot of potential so hopefully he pans out for us.
