Mass Effect 3 SPOILER THREAD: LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE

It would have been cool if whoever you left to die in ME1, was the voice of the space magic. The topic of the death does come up once or twice in the game.

Don't you have to fulfill a certain criteria from Mass Effect 2 to do that? I wasn't able to achieve peace and let the geth die.

Shit.

He said "wake up" and I failed to mediate a peace between the Quarians and the Geth EVEN THOUGH I DID EVERYTHING NECESSARY IN ME2 AND ME3 FOR THAT OPTION TO BE AVAILABLE. fucking glitchy piece of shit.

I shot Udina and broke Kai Leng's sword.

But I never hit the renegade trigger faster when it came to gut punching that fucking Quarian who attacked the ship we were on.
lol I did the same for all three too even though I was doing a paragon play though. I wonder what happen when you don't do it for three situations.

What happens if you do paragon for Udina and Kai Leng's?

Not that I ever would. Both deserved death.

Udina: If you don't shoot him, someone else will. I know Kaiden/Ashley do it if they're alive, but I don't know who shoots if he or she is dead.

Kai Leng: You just dodge the sword and kill him.

Speaking of Garrus, did anyone else intrude on Garrus and Tali making out? awkward....

I was incredibly surprised to walk in on that. Never saw it coming. It's pretty awesome. Removed any lingering doubt about staying consistent with Liara as my trilogy LI, seeing Tali got her own hook up, and with my bro Garrus no less.

Though it's hilarious that Garrus was apparently trying to make out with her through her helmet. Garrus, doesn't work that way bro.

Hehe nice, alright don't feel too bad about my decisions then.

It was satisfying as fuck.

You need to do the two missions on Rannoch, and have both Legion and Tali be loyal (Tali not exiled) for it to be possible. If you killed off the heretics instead of re-writing, it's even easier.

If you re wrote the heretics, you'll have a harder fight on the dreadnought but more Geth war assets.

Buzz Aldrin should have been the voice of the space magic.

"Hello my sweet, and welcome to DEUSSSSS EXXXX MACHINAAAAAAA!!!!"

My femshep remained a perma virgin throughout the series (excluding a brief fling with Kelly in ME2, but she doesn't count). Kaidan tried to hit on me in ME1. Consequently, he was left to die on a mission. James dropped a few inappropriate comments on me but quickly stopped when he realized he'd share a similar fate to Kaidan if he kept it up. Plus, I kicked his ass in boxing.

I did all of that except kill off the heretics. So yeah... I was really pissed off when my renegade/paragon option didn't appear. I also had a fully maxed reputation meter, so that shouldn't have been the issue either.
Did you save the admiral (I think it's Admiral Koris)?

Yeah, I did all the side Rannoch missions before the priority one.

I did not take the low hanging fruit and ignored the renegade option for shooting Udina.

Instead, Ashley did it for me. Hey, better for me; it ended all of her bitching about Shepard's loyalty and Cerberus.

Also, fuck Kai Leng. I was also laughing when he sent that gloating e-mail to the Normandy. Hell, in the rematch, the guy had to call for reinforcements that were hiding under the floorboards.

Oh, best part of the ending was if you could go paragon, was to have TIM shoot himself, total ME1 callback, it was awesome.

Also, what are your guys favorite mission in the game? Mine has to be Thessia.

It was oddly satisfying when Shepard calls him out and says all he ever does is run away, and the only response he has is, "SHUT UP!"

Shepard hurt the dude's pride. :'(

Kai Leng is such an undeservingly smug piece of shit. Made putting him in his place all the more sweeter.

Another one of my favorite moments from the game was when you are at the academy, and one of the students screams "I WILL DESTROY YOU". That actually made me lol; it was awesome. Also, not gonna lie, Jack looked kinda hot in this game.

I did it for Udina. I also did it for that quarian admiral who decided to destroy the ship I was still on. Fuck that guy.

Funny thing, Udina is one of he few redeeming characters in the game at the start. Helping the refugees, feeling genuinely remorseful & steering the council towards good.

AND *BAM*, betrays everybody & is responsible for killing thousands.

I'm curious. Those that lost a squad mate in ME2, did you keep the consequences of such and not "redo it" to play through ME3 in full?

Mordin and Jacob died for me in ME2 and I kept that consequence throughout ME3. Anyone else?

Probably Kroganworld, because it was the most action-oriented highlight of the game. Besides that, I can't remember. My mind just blurs it all together.

Least favorite was London. It felt generic because of the monochromatic tone and "ALIENS ON EARTH" overtone. However, the emotional pull of it was nice.

Probably the Citadel takeback level.

Really awesome moments in it throughout.

Why did Udina betray the Council again?

Never really trusted the Alien races, was completely wrecked by the loss of literally all of his close friends and colleagues on Arcturus Station, convinced by TIM that Cerberus was the only real hope for Humanity to survive. Its never explicit but most of its easy to infer.

Like many things regarding Cerberus in ME3, the Udina betrayal basically comes out of NOWHERE. Like, he's a pretty decent fellow at the start - even have a respect for him given what happens with the Council at the start (either new council or old one you saved in ME1). I was thinking they were doing a total heel face turn for his character but then the coup and ... I was just sitting there (after Renegade shooting him) going "WTF WAS THIS ALL ABOUT" and it never explains his motivations. PRESUMABLY the IM knew the station was the conduit but by this point in the game Cerberus are just the Clone Army with a HUGE army that appears out of nowhere. And to top it off its implied throughout that they've reverse-engineered indoctrination to do it to their own dudes (integration) to make them immune to the Reaper version but then suddenly at the end LOL NOPE LOLOLOLOL forget all those datapads you've been reading it's just plain ol' indoctrination because we didn't have time to flesh out an alterate Cerberus motivation before the three-color ending.

Ugh.. this games ending left me emotionally drained (I had Tali die on me too, as I hadn't spoiled myself on any plot stuff at all). Can't even be bothered to do multiplayer now and not getting the DLC because ... why bother? I may go back and do an Insanity run in a few months but wow ... killed all enjoyment of the series for me (like the ending of LOST and BSG did). The developers might as well have dropped trou and deuced right on my 360.

Citadel mission, no question. Most of the main mission were great, but the Citadel blew me away at every moment.

I'm about to do it on my second playthrough, so I'm eager to see what happens since Thane is already dead. I'm betting Kolyat just takes his place, but it would be nice to be surprised.

I'm doing something similar, except not really because my new FemShep is gonna sleep with someone new each game.

That reminds me, does romancing Kelly in ME3 block you off from another romance later in the game?

What are the requirements to get the TIM charm/intimidate choices at the end?

Anyone figure it out?

I heard (from this thread) you need to use a charm or intimidate option every chance you have throughout the game when talking to the Illusive Man.

Well, and the Codex actually spells it all out.

Desperate to get them to commit to helping Earth.

But... assuming that Udina did successfully pull off the coop, was he going to send the incomplete fleet that Shepard was still in the middle of building at the Reapers? Udina has always been pretty obviously human-centric and a bit of a slimy politician to boot... But I can't believe even he would be incapable of putting together some very obvious consequences of his course of action.

Apologies if this has been posted before

After watching both versions online...I didn't even fulfill those criteria. In ME2, Tali was exiled, Tali and Legion were both loyal though. As far as the heretics part I really don't remember.

I let the geth die in ME3, and yet I got the "Wake up" version.

IDGI.

Doesn't he say, "Wake up" if your EMS is high enough?

The Codex entry also speculates that Udina may have been under a light indoctrination, impairing his judgment.

that gets funnier every time I see it...

such perfect trolling of the trolls
If only they could have extrapolated.

We've reached the Singularity!
I want to go back to the late 2000s when I was watching BSG and playing ME1.

OH MY UNIVERSE. Nerd heaven.

Too bad both had a seriously misguided ending. Well, for me at least.

Doesn't he say, "Wake up" if your EMS is high enough?
Which one is EMS? I had 3000/7000.

I was just listening to Games Dammit podcast (ME3 spoiler filler discussion), and all the permutations this game has sounded pretty awesome. Of course most of all doesn't affect the ending, but still. For example, I didn't know Samara could die in this game and turn into a Banshee later, or Jack into one of those crazy Cerberus ninjas.
