The Walking Dead - Season 2 - Sundays on AMC

To me there's such distance (physical and in time) that to bring back characters from Season 1 would probably seem implausible to me if it happened.

Carol will need to be there to bring Daryl back after he betrays the group and joins back with Merle, when that guy eventually shows his mug again.

unfortunately, i have a feeling this is where they're going with Daryl and Merle.

T-Dawg is not dying tomorrow.

And that's just because writers have forgotten he's even there.
I think if he manages to keep such s a low profile he might make it to the end or even be the only survivor, by sneaking past every episode unnoticed.

Nah, seriously i think he won't because the guy has been pretty useless lately;
killing him now would be a waste, since right now no one would care anyway. They must have something in mind for him after all this time.

Unless they conveniently have him do something meaningful or have someone talk about him so we're reminded of what he's done, moments before being killed.

Like they did with Shane anyway: they suddenly realized they needed to make him look somewhat less of an asshole before killing him, hence Lori's lines which absolutely gave Shane's imminent death away.

So, moving forward, how many seasons do you think they will spend in the
prison
?

Two?

There's a lot of content to mine there and if they do it right, it would be relatively filler free for quite a while.

I'd like them to move around more. I know it makes no sense in a zombie world but I'd love to see more locations. That;s why the pilot is still one of my favorite episodes. You see so much different imagery.

I hope they only spend 1 season there. I think the show works better when they are on the move.

That's one thing I liked about Zombieland (aside from Woody Harrelson). Road movie coupled with zombie movie.

I would like to see more of the outside world. Also I wish someone would find some damn walkie talkies.

1 location per season, please.

I would like them to spend all of season 3 there, with the opening of season 4 being when they leave. That would make for a hell of a season opener.

Anybody gonna be watching The Walking Dead Sunday Marathon leading up to the season finale tomorrow? They're reshowing Ep3-Ep12 of Season 2. All day marathon.

I'm stoked. :D

I hope he does survive.

He's the most sane character.

Things that he has done on the show in 2 seasons:
- was a victim of racism
- cut himself

I'm completely open to him being expanded upon. I just hope his inclusion doesn't prevent a other characters from showing up.

It wasn't going to be a full episode. It was going to be a cold open prequel thing.

Which is fuck awesome.

What? Everything I've read said it was to be it's own full episode, though maybe I just read it wrong.

And even then, while that would have cool I guess, does it really add anything substantial to the plot, characters, setting, even the world? Just having a dead soldier in the tank, we can already assume his background and where a grenade came from. It just doesn't click with me to be the great thing we missed and "I can't believe they would cut that!!". It's . . meh.

Obviously, as an opener, it would've been much, much more bearable.

Hasn't it only been 2 weeks or something?

Has to be longer than that:

CDC - a few days
Trip to farm - a few days
Carl recovers - at least a week
Randall recovers - a week

So bare minimum 3, I think and very possibly 4/5/6.

But even a few days of travel is an awful lot, I think.

The main side issue of it, was going to be Andrea and Amy meeting Dale (and Dale saving them)

I'm pretty sure they only stayed at the CDC for a single night and their destination at the beginning of Season 2 was Fort Benning, which is only like 2-3 hours drive from Atlanta.

I remember somewhere, sometime during Season 2, I remember hearing a character claim that "it's been two/three weeks since then..." and I think it was Rick talking with either Lori or Shane, referring to when they were reunited in Season 1.

Episode continued the trend of having some meandering or repetitive conversations, but with that amazing final confrontation coming after a whole season of working to strengthen and define Shane and Rick (Shane was a better character to watch all throughout because Rick's development was stalled often, but in the last few weeks his buildup has worked great) I was plenty amped. First time I've really been thrilled all season, and next week looks great. I think the show could be on the right track.

Season 1 spoiler referring to the confirmed season 3 character:
Did Merle seal up his wound using a Bunsen burner/equivalent? Did I imagine that? Is it even possible?

From what I remember, he found a kitchen, turned on a stove top, and put an iron plate on it, then when it was red hot, put his stump on it. Might have been a pan, but it was some sort of flat iron object.

wierd to put spoiler on something that's happened in show...

I just want to spoiler something

I spoilered it in case people put 2+2 together and figured out
Merle
was the character in the spoilers above.

EVERYBODY DIES!

Season 3 to have no characters from the comics at all. Except Carl. New cast, paid like shit.

Only the winne survives

Wrong

Whoa, Mazzara and Kirkman are gonna be on Talking Dead tomorrow night after the finale!

Too bad Andrea's character (Laurie Holden) will ruin it by also being present.

They need to make a big deal of the survival of rick at the end of the series, show everyone dying off and then a gruesome death scene for him.... .and then we cut to T-Dog in a safe place. the subtext would be *BET YOU FORGOT ABOUT THIS MOTHERFUCKER*

Moving around makes a hell of a lot more sense than sending Glenn to pick up two things in town every two weeks. They'd need bi-daily backpacks full of shit for that many people.

Can't wait for the infinite, magical supply of diapers they'll have when the baby gets born.

Spoilers.
So, a certain character has been confirmed for season 3:
Michael Rooker will be returning as Merle.

Source is here.
They already accidently confirmed that
by having him on the Talking Dead
.

Interesting first comment on the site. Seems plausible.

What, like the first episode of Season 3 or did he come on during season 2? I think I remember him being on seaspon 2 of TD during his episode.

Rewatching ep 203...

Lori: I thought, "Maybe Jenner was right."
Rick: That man surrendered. It doesn't matter... It doesn't matter what he said. None of it.

I completely forgot about this part of the scene. Another reason why Rick probably refused to tell the group. If his wife had but already lost hope without knowing what he knew, imagine how gone she and probably most of the others would be if he told them.

I hope Carl didn't shoot Walker Shane directly in the brain and that he survives because they just left him in a field (IIRC Rick didn't even confirm the headshot?)

He can guest star in a season or two, killing random isolated survivors, and he's leading a giant horde

Season finale tonight!
Beside the Dying Fire

Rick and Carl find the farm in jeopardy; the group is split up in the chaos; Rick's leadership is questioned.

The S2 marathon is in progress now on AMC. Shane is about to shave his head.

Also just a reminder that there is a thread for discussion of the spoiler leaks from AMC, the comic books and how they relate to the show, and other spoilerish material. Please use that thread if you want to talk about this sort of thing. Thanks.
