Where are all the gifs. There should be more gifs.
Also, I want to find out more about Aang's other children. Where are they?
And The Pro-Bending zone rules could totally be applied to a game of Dodgeball.
I re-watched the second episode, and i disagree with Tenzin that Aang had most difficulty learning earth bending even though that took Aang the longest periode of time to learn it. I would say fire bending was the most difficult for Aang to learn it after he burned Katara, and Aang was really shaken up about it for a long time. So psychologically speaking Aang´s most difficult bending was fire. That mirrors Katara´s lack of spirituality and therefor learning air bending.
Mako is Zuko without the overblown angst and Bolin is a lighthearted ladies' man, like a more mature Sokka. I don't think they're wooden at all.
No one compares to Toph yet of course, but it's only been two episodes.
Well, I liked Zuko's introduction much more than Mako since even though Zuko was angstified, he had a very good reason for that angst. What is Mako's reason? Hopefully that is explained, because if there isnt one and it is basically just affected, i will be disappointed.

Mako has no angst, he's just tsundere.
get your anime tropes outta here!
I know what you're getting at, but I don't think Korra has yet earned this comparison.toph - korra

Tsundere is a Japanese character development process that describes a person who is initially cold and even hostile towards another person before gradually showing their warm side over time.
Requesting a .gif of Meelo telling his father he's a bad teacher and kicking around the remains of the airbending-training props. Hilarious.
Except he is very blatantly tsundere.
In terms of pro-bending it kind of is. It would be easy to just blast someone off the ring with airbending. Or at least easier than with the other elements.
Fire difficulty was more of a mental block he placed on himself though (since he could fire bend pretty easily, he just had no control and hurt someone because of it) its just that Earth was everything and it didn't help that Toph's teaching method early on made it worse for him.
i rewatched 3 times already....
the new gang does remind me a lot of the old gang.

Someone's insecure about this franchise's influences.

Am I not allowed to use the term tsunami to refer to large tidal waves? Grow up.
Correct. Fire wasn't difficult for Aang. He got it pretty quickly, in fact. The issue was that he wasn't mentally ready to handle it and hurt someone in the process. Because of that, he decided not to pursue it until later. It was emotional damage for him. His Earthbending took a lot more time to development and Aang spent a lot of time working with Toph to get it to a good level.
I'm having trouble thinking of what it was about Aang's personality that caused him difficulty with earth bending if that is the case.

"I know you are, but what am I?"Telling me to grow up is immature in itself
You would be surprised. And umami is a valid term in culinary threads. I can come up with others if you'd like to continue nitpicking.everyone knows what a tsunami is.

Maybe his calm nature and his typical air nomad attitude towards confrontations. It was natural to him to evade problems and fights where possible, while earth bending requires you to face a problem head on and stand your ground. That was what the whole eartbending teaching episode was about.
God damn it, every time I write something at least two people beat me to it ^^

"I know you are, but what am I?"
Im glad you realize the flippancy of using ad hominem
I see we're not arguing about Japanese loanwords anymore. That's progress.
You're such a tsundere, Uchip.

consider yourself lucky that you didnt follow the series during the 3rd book clusterfuck with nick :/ my god that was painful
There was a face that Korra made when Bolin(?) fell out of the ring. Did anyone make a gif of it?

I take the stance that nobody knows what you were talking about

I guarantee you that more than half the people on this page did. Your concern is touching, however. If it would set your mind at ease, we could take a poll.
