It reeks of a project that is going to hit a snag and be on home video in a few years.

Erm...okay? It's only a high budget, high profile, franchise blockbuster that WB is desperate to get out, but didn't want to waste its B.O potential eating into their own take for The Hobbit in its original December release date.

Sucker Punch is a guilty pleasure of mine.

At least the extended edition is, not sure what I'd think about the theatrical version.
I just watched Sucker Punch over the weekend on HBO (theatrical cut) and I liked it. Well done action scenes and I liked the characters. God, Emily Browning did it for me in that schoolgirl outfit. ;)

Damn, this Superman movie is still so far out. Would have been nice to have seen it this year but moving it out of the busy holiday and in turn giving it more time for polish is a good thing.

Just like Terminator Salvation!

Ha. I remember so many people getting hyped when his name was announced. I even remember McG throwing the other two writers under the bus and playing the Nolan card big time, that dubious piece of shit. Almost as bad as when he tried to convince people Cameron had signed off on the movie and was made to retract the statement once Cameron said no such thing happened.

Lol, that happened? I swear I remember reading a statement somewhere to that effect. That he had Cameron's blessing.

for some reason nearly every HBO channel has been showing Sucker Punch all weekend long so I decided to watch it.

WHAT.
THE.
FUCK.

lol, yep. Movie is horrible. It was as if it was written by a 13 year old, just throwing all of the "cool shit" he could think of and hoping it would stick to the wall.

Why do superheroes wear their underwear over their pants? Seriously, I never got this. :p

According to the canon: When Krypton's destruction was imminent, Jor-El quickly wrapped his infant son Kal-El (Superman) in his clothes, sending him in a homemade spaceship towards the Earth. Just moments before the explosion of Krypton, his wife Lara realized that he will need a pair of underwear. Knowing it'll be too late to take out his clothes and wrap him up again, they slipped the underwear over his pants before trajecting him to Earth, forever creating the iconic image we see today [1].

Suckerpunch is one of the most vile things I've paid to watch. I don't understand why WB signed off on that thing.

Speaking of Jonah Nolan, I wonder what happened to his Interstellar script. Stashed away in some cabinet, never to be seen probably...

The only thing vile about Sucker Punch is that is that the violence wasn't made with a hardcore R in mind. For some reason watching Fincher's Girl with the Dragon Tattoo made me think of that.

Which is why I loved it. It was a phantasmagoria of excess and badassery. :D

It's of those movies like The Fifth Element and Hudson Hawk where the very loving of makes you my friend.

I'm just kidding primarily. I know there is no possible way that could happen, just the entire feel of the production that I've seen so far. I'm still looking forward to the movie.

Superheroes can't be freeballin when they're dodging Darkseid's omega beams or doom bots. They have to have support in all the right places to give them the confidence they need to succeed.

Classic.

On a completely unrelated point, I prefer if they use the "sonic boom" flying effect that Kevin Smith wanted in "Superman Lives" rather than showing Superman flying.

Who's with me?

probably my fave ever teaser. that music....

i wish they'd just say fuck it and adopt william's theme for this new superman as well.

Nah. Williams' Superman theme won't be beaten, but I agree with them that they should abandon everything from the old films. They haven't even announced who is going to score the film yet.

Probably the same reason everything in Mario's design was created.

Because of a reason to be more visible.
If you put some underwear, you can make a cleared definition of what is torso, what are legs and what are arms in a complicated action scene.

Reading about Interstellar reminded me of 2001: ASO

Then I am grateful that it is not up to you.
