Besides all the little mistakes that all added up, the movies biggest mistake was trying to adapt a TV season into a movie. It moved way too fast. If there's ever going to be another live action Avatar movie it has to be a standalone story, either a big event that happened in between seasons/episodes, or maybe a prequel dealing with past avatars.

Fell so far behind on this thread, responding to a couple quotes that caught my eye.

I am ok with Korra x nobody.

Or Korra x Mako to make people mad. haha.

Ugh. Hate you.

If she has to be paired with anyone, it should be Lin. Linorra for life!

Bolin ends up being hit on by Lin. Callin it now.

If Korra can't get her, I would LOVE for Bolin to smooth talk Lin and start something.

New Theory:
This character is from the trailer and is seen wearing an Equalist mark on his or her mask. Asami Sato is secretly an Equalist and a Tony Stark type character who develops technology for them to use in their fight against the benders.

Hard to explain the Iron Man glove otherwise.

A female Tony Stark would be sweet.

They pronouced everything weird in the film. Like Auovatar. I couldn't even finish film and I finished birdemic for gods sakes.

I remember a quote from that idiot who is responsible for the film where he said that he is Indian and that since Avatar is connected to his sulture, he knows how it is really pronounced.

I can't believe the same guy is supposed to have written the foreword to the artbook...

You can't use someone's gimmick against them! That's not how it works!

I guess I am stealing your gimmick. Unless... I'M YOU FROM THE FUTURE!

Pretty sure its all the korean work that makes it great..

So the American producers, writers, voice actors and storyboard artists to name a few have no influence?

Actually not completely. The Korean animators have a lot of freedom and creative input on the show. But of course the story, designs, choreography etc. for the fighting scenes usually come from America.

But to make out like the quality of the show is solely responsible to a sinle side is intellectually dishonest.

I'm not saying he was right with his statement, just that the animators do a lot more on Avatar than they usually do with american animation.

It seems clear from things like the artbook and DVD commentaries that it is a collaborative effort. It's obviously true without the particular animation team that they had that the show would have some different choreography or lose some of the visual jokes that originated with the animation team, and obviously without the original writers and artists the animators wouldn't have had something to animate.

The show could probably exist in some other form with a different set of animators (though I think the writers are essential), but the particular show I watched and enjoyed depended upon both.

You put my thoughts perfectly into words.
I'm too tired for this. Between this thread, watching TLA and reading Addicted to Curry all day, I really didn't do anything today.

Full speed ahead!

Sorry, but "Amon's desk" has me laughing in front of my computer right now :D

Is it part of Indian culture to shift pronunciation at least once a scene?

Welp. It was a good thread while it lasted.

Avatar fans are mad weird, yo. I liked this universe better when I marathoned the first series after it finished and thought I just watched some amazing "under the radar" show. Now I find out that you people are just as bad as everyone else.

IS NOTHING SACRED ANYMORE?

cows?

There's something different about the Avatar fandom though. Shipping seems way more popular that in other western animation. It's pretty disturbing.

I just want a show where everyone has sex so the fans don't have to write about it/draw it.

Then they'll just write/draw breakup and relationship swapping fan fiction. It's inevitable. Even worse now that people have gotten a taste of the first 2 eps, and have to wait like a month before any new ones. The lull between episodes makes the fan fiction grow weirder.

Just decided to see what was in this thread; I don't believe that I have posted in this OT yet.

*looks at posts above mine*

It was a good run. I'm out.

I bet they have sex in the clouds.

Dat airbending.
