Do you mind telling me your Instagram username? I'd like to add you. Mine is dperschonok if anyone else wants to add me as well. I mostly post pics of LEGO and my dogs :)

Not at all! I post pretty much nothing but hobby stuff (Lego, Nanoblock, etc). My name on there is nicoga3000

Thanks! I obviously need more stuff I'm just trying to decide what and how big I want to make it. What you see is only 3 sets; two battle packs and the Wampa Cave. I think my next set for this will be the Echo Base the LEGO store is currently carrying.

Looks good. I'm working on the same. I still have my Wampa cave in the closet.
Looking for the Echo base and I want the Turret set with the Tauntan. Then it's on to Endor.

Space Shuttle, hands down. The buildings are awesome, don't get me wrong. But this one is superb!

Ah! I'll be sure to get that set. I noticed that TRU has a buy 1 get 1 50% off sale on nanoblocks. Which other set should I pair it with from this selection?

Really, any of the $15 sets minus the Giant Banyan Tree. It's a cool build and a neat display (particularly the little trees that go with it), but the rest of the building/landmarks are significantly more display worthy. Eiffel Tower, Saint-Michel, Kinkaku-ji, and Kaminarimon would be my choice over the Easter Island Heads and mini Neuschwanstein, though. :)

Everyone needs to get on this deal! $44.98! It shows $71.98 on the product page, but when you add the Earth Defense HQ to your cart, it drops to $44.98! 50% savings!

I have this set and it's a very complete playset. It's a big mobile base that includes a nice ship designed after the Vic Viper.

Yup, all of the Alien stuff was marked down, it's probably on it's way out.

Buy, I repeat, buy this set. Especially at 50 bucks, my god. I got it when it marked down to 71 last week.

The trucks aren't swooshable but remain calm! They are incredibly cool and you get a Vic Viper, swoosh swoosh!

Tons of great pieces, interesting and varied build.

Bought. I may have to stop by BnN for that Hoth set too. You guys are killing my wallet.

BN stores are actually a good place to get sets. I have said it many times, but if the store has a dedicated toys section their Lego selection is actually quite good. Combine that with their membership + coupons and you can get sets rather cheap.

Many stores carry the Pirates and Star Wars sets, along with a good mix of Creator stuff and City sets. Waiting for a great coupon before I bite and get the Dino stuff there.

I finally gave in and ordered the Fire Brigade from the LEGO website before it vanishes or whatever. It'll be the first LEGO set I've built in probably 5-10 years. :)

I thought it said it was backordered and wouldn't be available until late April, but it shows as now available. HOWEVER, quick question! I placed my order and got an order number, but I don't see an email yet and the LEGO website doesn't show any order history on my account. Is there normally a delay or should I be concerned?

Delay is normal. Just look back several pages when I was posting non stop about the same thing. I was having a mini meltdown about it, but in the end it is all cool.

Haha, I didn't catch that. I still don't have an email, but I do see the pending charge on my credit card and the order status now shows up on the website, so I'm happy. I got the fire brigade, brick separators, and started a VIP account in case I get more in the future. Thanks for the pictures and inspiration, people. :)

I was browsing Barnes & Noble's website and saw they still had the Wampa Cave (8098) set in stock for MSRP (39.99). I checked if any stores around me had them and sure enough the closest one had plenty in stock. This set is really awesome. The Snowspeeder is a great build that I would like more of so I can keep building my Hoth battle. It has a few stickers but they aren't too bad. The cave itself is a so-so build but it has some really neat features like the skeleton, the rib cage, Luke hanging from the ceiling as well as a light saber stuck in the snow that launches! Here are some photos of it all finished.

Annnnd sold me. Bought.

PhoncipleBone is now a veteran of the LEGO S@H shipping process. ;)

Twice over. The first one (Town Hall and Brick Separator) freaked me out, but the second order (Tower Bridge) did seem to process much faster than the initial order.

And I finally finished my multi-day breakdown of Town Hall and Fire Brigade. That pair of brick separators is a godsend.

Pieces are mostly sorted. There are bins with just random pieces, and ones with pieces of a similar type (like anything with studs on the side), so I will have some digging while I build again. Even still, there are so many damn cups and bins filled with bricks. 4997 bricks takes up a lot of space.

So tomorrow I begin the epic dual build of Fire Brigade and Town Hall. I am cheating a tiny bit by not breaking down the fire truck. This will be only the buildings themselves.

Stoopid me, I never realized that Lego has offices in Enfield, CT. I have been a retail slave my whole adult life, but it looks like they have positions that I might actually be qualified for at their offices.

Applying tomorrow! Trying not to get my hopes up, but it would be godly to get a job for them.

Your resume should just be a link to this thread. Good luck!

My Millennium Falcon and Advent Calendar (Star Wars) will be here today. Excite!

Gonna save the Falcon for this weekend since almost everyone I know will be out of town. Sounds like a Marathon of Star Wars and building is in store.

Damnit why must you guys keep showing me deals...I must resist that Alien set. I MUST

For those of you wishing you bought Cafe Corner when it was around and wondering why it's so hard to find now, this probably has something to do with it...

Yeah, the problem with the dot codes is that there are so many now for each figure - last I had read up on it they were doing a different set of dot codes for each manufacturing batch and were doing them flipped and reversed as well (so a single batch would have like 4 codes per figure, and then however many manufacturing batches they did). It was hard enough telling some of them apart when there was only 1 code per figure like in series 4 - some of the dots are pretty hard to see as they don't stamp them all that hard.

It's much easier to feel the bags and feel for specific parts. If anything you can easily use this to eliminate certain figures (the most obvious part is a dress instead of legs - I was able to find the Statue of Liberty and the Flamenco Dancer in series 6 within a matter of minutes since the dress piece is really easy to feel for). It can take a bit to get the hang of but it's great once you do.

So bloody ridiculous. I bought so many more of these when I was able to scan the bar codes. Now it's the odd one here and there.

I like your Wampa set!

Unrelated question: Why do I see so many photos being posted these days that look like the one above? They're all tinged with "vintage" filters and have borders. Is there some new photo app that everybody is using?

Isnt that instagram? At least I think that app does that, i never bothered with it.

Ya it is Instagram

I like it, reminds me of a old hotel from New York or something

I don't apply filters to my Instagram photos personally - I don't mind them, but they feel gimmicky, ha.

And I like the idea of the hotel build, but it doesn't feel well executed for some reason.

any suggestions for a small clear display stand for some micro SW sets? Just bought a bunch from bricklink but I'll want to have them 'in flight'. Made out of lego obviously.

Also want something for my X-wing, but would a large support be enough? like 2681

On a semi-related note...

I saw Ed Sheeran open for Snow Patrol on Monday. I thought it was a funny coincidence when I realized that Sheeran did that "Lego House" video that someone linked earlier in the thread. I hadn't listened to any of his music up until that point, but he's pretty good.

I picked up two of the smaller Friends sets last night, out of curiosity. And you know, I really liked them! It was nice to work with vibrant colors, and other than the minifigs, the sets really do feel like regular Lego. They reminded me more of the Paradisa line, rather than, say, Bellville. Which is a good thing.

Some sets for the summer wave look pretty neat too - like the Camper and Olivia's Speedboat. (Olivia seriously gets the best stuff).

As others have said it's an iOS app called Instagram. It's basically a simple photo sharing social network. You can follow people and share photos. When the people you follow post pictures they will show up on your news feed. If you get the app feel free to follow me @dperschonok. I post a decent amount of LEGO photos. Some of the filters are kind of gimmicky but I try to stick to making the photo look nice.

You know, that mega Cafe Corner build...Is sort of ugly. :|
Why is it leaning? That's the only thing wrong with it to me. Otherwise, it's a rather realistic looking high rise and kinda cool for that reason.

My lego order of the whatever thing you guys got me to buy last night has shipped. I don't even remember what I ordered. Oh Alien Conquest Earth Defense hq.

I don't see any shipping method or tracking on this. How do they normally ship?

I've used trans-clear 30359a and 3960 for my few mini SW sets like the X-Wing and TIE Fighter. This might not be ideal for ships that you need to attach at the bottom, but I was able to use the studs on the side of the 30359a to attach to the rear of the models - if you use the single stud end up you can then angle them as well so they look to be flying instead of just hovering.

There's probably plenty of other options out there but I had these from a few STAPs from a set that my brother picked up at some point and found they worked well for me.

Have you guys seen this new set listed on Brickset?

http://brickset.com/news/article/?ID=2928

If you have a LEGO store opening near you I would definitely try to be one of the first customers so you can get this cool mini set!

I still think their next modular set should be a Lego store.

And VW Camper is back in stock at Toys R Us. Probably wont last long. The Shuttle Expedition was there last night, but now is not on the page at all.

that's a cool set, and looks fairly easy to bricklink parts for. There's the lego logo sticker on a 2x2 tile piece, but someone can just make that. The clear studs that go on the roof may be new though.

I love how you can see the pick a brick wall at the back of the mini store. Awesome little touch.

And I just submitted my application to the Lego offices here in CT. Only have retail experience and an art degree, so let's hope that I can at least get an interview there.

Maybe extensive Lego knowledge will help? :3

Good luck! I know I've recently come to the decision that a job at LEGO is basically my dream job. Too bad it took me almost 15 years after getting out of college to figure that out.

If you like rap he did a free EP with Yelawolf that is really good.
