GAF, we have now been translated into Korean.

So, I was searching my username, and sure enough, I found out that somebody took our thread on the Korean pop group Girls Generation/SNSD's performance on Letterman and translated it into Korean so I suppose Koreans could see how Americans reacted to the performance.

Kinda cool, huh? The crazy thing is, this is not the first time this happened. I once found out a GAF thread had been translated to Japanese.

So, Korean-speaking GAF... what are they saying about our thread? They have kind of a lengthy discussion about it. GAF's influence is almighty. It's a little freaky, really. The stuff you say may come back to bite you in the ass. :jnc

My korean is a bit rusty but one of the post says:

'Kim, whats wrong with your online translator? There is no way that american men are into childish pop music aimed at young girls. "

We could be internet community pen pals with them.

LOL! They'd have to take a look in the mirror on that one.

asian languages look like something i'd imagine an alien script would look like
roman numerals for the win goddamn

EDIT: i mean roman alphabet

She's right.

The people in those SNSD threads, I'm not sure what they are.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

They called NeoGaf a Sausage party.

And that NeoGaf is a shitty representation of foreigner opinion on KPOP.

And that NeoGaf is populated by Japan-lovers. My translation is rough on that one.

Populated by a bunch of SNSD lovers. Heh.

I'm at work and Hangulmal isn't available on this comp, but I have a feeling you're not too far off.

They're making millions of US dollars a year and own expensive houses and cars, but sure, go with your narrative.

Anyway, know that if you insult k-pop gaf you have to face crocodile dundee: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=36337919&postcount=1784

All I'm saying is, as with pretty much 99.9% of pop acts put together by a record company, they are probably taking home a surprisingly small fraction of what they actually earn or are worth.

If the Korean scene is anything like the Japanese, they're salaried employees.

Tell them I said they are just mad because they can't get their accounts approved.

They really have a low opinion of Americans.

Just noticed that one dude's burning Japanese flag icon.

And with that, the wail of a thousand anime-wielding gaffers reverberated through the universe.

Meh, Koreans are jerks anyway.

This thread is surprisingly quiet for something related to SNSD... Title should be updated to include them. It's like a turkey call for the Keeaboos.

I've been reading your posts the wrong way then.

Yeah, you have been.

Some are implying Gaffers/Americans who have a fascination with Japan, love Japan so much that they would work against Korea kind of way.

Whereas in that thread, I had a bad day and low impulse control and misdirected anger. So, basically a Korean day.

I don't think weeaboos would work against Korea.

And oh geeze. I'm on that translation page LOL

One doesn't logically follow the other so I guess you have the advantage of sanity.

Like the word for "Friend of Japan" or "friend of America" is "chinilpa" or chinmipa."

But the historical/cultural context is that of a collaborator.
