I know this has probably already been speculated on (and probably speculated to death), but what do you guys think about the chances of Batman getting a new suit? It seems unlikely for him to wear the same shit as last time, given that such hasn't been the tradition of like every new film. I mean we do see a poster with his
mask shattered on the floor.
You think he's just gonna wear the same shit after that?? I'm willing to bet he shows up in some kind of variant suit, or completely new thing, before the end of the film. It'd be a nice surprise at this point since if it exists we haven't seen it in any images or videos.

The toys always have the answer

Yeah, but isn't there always some kind of weird toy that's totally unrelated to the title movie??

He was being sarcastic.

I don't expect a new a suit. Nolan's not going to change it just to do it, and I don't foresee a plot/production reason to do so. The other one got changed because of the neck and other flexibility issues. Now it's pretty much perfect for these films.

He's gonna have an armored version. That much is probably true. I can see toy companies being given the okay to make an armored Batman to tie into the movie, but not given any specifics whatsoever to how it should look. Hence the regular looking figures having all the same design, and the armored ones being all different.

What if they just wanted to do a new suit to follow with tradition, and to be in line with the different theme of TDK (as opposed to BB), and that having Bruce say he needed to move his neck was only justification to the audience for doing so. Or really, it's two birds with one stone. New look, and good reason to do so.

What if Batman needs a new suit, because the graphite can't hold up to Bane??

JGL is finally ascending to the level of comic relief cop in the Batverse.

We've had Jeremy Theobald and Nicky Katt in previous Nolan movies, and then in the Batman movies play roles where they explain to the audience what's going on. JGL will be that role in The Dark Knight Rises.

After Dark Knight Rises is released we will rule NeoGAF with an iron fist and then when the speculation thread for the next series of Batman films is created we will descend into chaos and civil war.

You think this can last. A storm's coming, apana. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits you're all going to wonder how you could have all the Bat-GAF power and leave so little for the rest of us.

I don't think Nolan gives a shit about this alleged tradition. He had good reasons to evolve the suit for TDK that were largely production-based, not for story. Except for BB -> TDK, all significant suit changes have coincided with new actors.

What if Batman needs a new suit, because the graphite can't hold up to Bane??
I really don't expect Batman to end up defeating Bane thanks to a new suit. Also, the TDK suit already abandoned graphite, people have pointed out for months that the shattered cowl in the poster isn't really accurate to the continuity.

When this thread is in ashes, you have my permission to die.

When Christopher Nolan asked Tom Hardy to play the villain in his third and final Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises, due July 20, the director doted on one job requirement in particular: the budding star would have to wear a mask that looked like a leathery baboon mouth with metal casings for fangs – a sort of steampunk respirator as fashioned by Francis Bacon. “I think he worried it would be something I might not consider because wearing a mask might damage my career or something. He thought I’d be worried that the audience couldn’t see my beautiful face,” says Hardy, who also worked for Nolan in the filmmaker’s 2010 Oscar-nominated smash Inception. “Like I care. It’s Chris Nolan! I would wear a paper bag over my head for that man.”

To play Bane, a willfully evil and possibly unstoppable force of mind and might, the British actor wanted to develop a distinctive voice, one that evoked (albeit elliptically) the comic book character’s erudition and ethnic heritage (Bane hails from a fictional Caribbean country). Hardy sought a sound befitting a man steeped in malevolence and old soul wisdom and who could trace his roots to ancient Latin culture.

Listening to Hardy compare Bane to the scarred, clown-faced villain who terrorized Gotham City in The Dark Knight, you almost get the feeling of a revolutionary usurper with tremendous resources. “The Joker didn’t care—he just wanted to see the world burn, and he was a master of chaos and destruction, unscrupulous and crazy. Bane is not that guy,” says Hardy. “There is a very meticulous and calculated way about Bane. There is a huge orchestration of organization to his ambition. He is also a physical threat to Batman. There is nothing vague about Bane. No jokes. He’s a very clean, clear villain.”

Sounds like a rehash of an older interview. Either that or Hardy is trying not to talk a lot about the movie and just repeat what he has said before.

EDIT: Yep. http://batman-news.com/2011/09/09/tom-hardy-almost-missed-out-on-the-dark-knight-rises/
Nolan called about playing Batman's powerful foe. "Chris rings and says, 'I'm not sure if it's your sort of thing because it would mean wearing a mask. How do you feel about wearing a mask as an actor?'"
Hardy laughed when recalling the day that changed his career: "How do I feel about wearing a mask? I'd wear a plastic bag over my head for Chris! I'll do anything for him. I did not see that coming. I never, ever thought I'd be in Batman."

some men aren't looking for anything logical, they can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with, some men just want to double post

And some dont want to read double posts for no logical reason.

And no, there is no word of a new BR on the horizon. They really have no major reason to go back to it. It sold exceptionally well, and will continue to. Perhaps a bit down the line they might do a new master on it, but they dont have much incentive to put a new version out.

Nothing, but they will. They have to and add the prologue in it, similar to BB.

I'd buy a new version if they just threw in some commentaries. The one with Goyer is fucked on BD-live, at least on the two players I tried. Starts skipping to the next chapter a minute or so into a scene (after the first scene, which it makes it almost until the end of before skipping ahead). Either I have back luck with players or it's just fucked and BDlive is a terrible terrible feature.
