I got to see this bad boy up close.

that's awful looking

So I lit my cigarette and coyly kept my glance on him. He really wasn't moving at all. He just stared at a brick wall about 15 feet away from him, legs crossed, arms dangling at his sides...

I continued on the tampon job, but couldn't help but gaze upward every 5 minutes or so to see if Nolan had even twitched. Over the course of 2 hours the guy didn't budge. He didn't even recross his legs, drink his coffee, move his head, his eyes, anything.

Update: New RISES Trailer Coming in May Attached to...

Back on January 11th, I reported the following here on BOF... I got a heads up that the next trailer for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES will come in mid to late May -- possibly with DARK SHADOWS."

Well, May's almost here and I thought I might post a bit of scuttlebutt I've heard: The new trailer might be "attached" with THE AVENGERS. If so, we could possibly be seeing it in about 2 weeks. With THE AVENGERS being such a huge film, I could see why Warner Bros. would want to have a trailer out then. I don't think it being a "Marvel Movie" is an issue at all. Quite frankly, it's good for the entire when any comic bood/superhero film does well -- Marvel, DC, whomever.

Look, don't bet the house on this, OK? I'm just letting you all know what I've been hearing and I consider it nothing more than rumor right now. Remember, DARK SHADOWS comes out a week after THE AVENGERS (May 11th) and like THE DARK KNIGHT, it's a Warner Bros. film.

Also, I expect the publicity and marketing for RISES to ramp up significantly in May. If you remember, that's when it really kicked into gear for THE DARK KNIGHT four years ago in 2008. For example, BOF exclusively released a TDK JOKER BANNER on May 18th of 2008. FYI.
A week is a week, right?

That was from 2003 right? Before 8 Mile came out but after TES?

What is Nolan doing there? Promoting Insomnia? Just there as a fan of the MTV Movie Awards?

His presence is really odd, almost like a lost footage ghost in the background odd.
His presence is more offputting than Daniel Craig's Taylor Swift photobomb.

It's attached to The Avengers... but maybe not... could be Dark Shadows...

Thank you, Jett, for your insight as always. Has Batman-On-Film scooped anything the last four years?

Yeah. It's going to be with Dark Shadows...

It would make sense to attach it with The Avengers. The two movies are not in direct competition outside of fanboys internet wars and the Avengers is sure to draw 10times the audience Dark Shadows is. Those who have no interest in either movie will watch it online but from a marketing perspective it would make tons more sense to have it seen in front of the Avengers.

Sort of like how they have to, reluctantly, attach the prologue to MI4 and not Sherlock Holmes 2.

A TDKR trailer attached to The Avengers is gonna fuck up the whole box office battle that's supposed to happen. The numbers will be all fucked up!

I hope you're right. That way I'll actually see it. I refuse to pay to see Burton and Depp jerk each other off. Like most fetish porn, it was good the first time, lost it's magic quickly after.

True and true. It's a perfectly great idea, which is why it won't happen! :P

Look guys don't get my hopes up. I can't take it.

Well both movies are only a week apart.

Judging from the trailer, I don't think I want to go see Dark Shadows, so even if its attached to that movie we will have to wait 1 extra week. Unless of course WB does something even dumber and waits another week to release the HD version online.

Don't worry, someone will post a gloriously shitty camera-phone video day before.

I remember watching the Inception trailer on some dudes cell phone...and it was french O_O/

When Mr. Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises" opens July 20, it will contain the most IMAX footage ever for a Hollywood feature, more than one hour's worth.

IMAX hasn't yet committed to films for August and September, because it wants to give "The Dark Knight Rises" more time to run. That film, will be screened at 100 of IMAX's largest locations in traditional film format, requiring exhibitors to reconvert from digital to film at their own expense.

For this unusual mandate, thank that old IMAX fan, Mr. Nolan the director. "I felt if we could have one of those in every major city, we could justify the difficulty of going to a lot of trouble to shoot this way," he says. "You will see a crisper image."

Las Vegas better be one of those! :(

I laughed. Every traditional IMAX still runs 70mm projectors. The digital LieMAX's and normal theatres would have absolutely no reason whatsoever to go back to film projection, since their screen sizes wouldn't be able to fit the scope of the 70mm prints anyway.

Big non story. Nolan should be working on making a lighter-weight, noiseless IMAX camera so we can get a feature length film in the format.

Except Vegas, which had traditional IMAX theater until they converted to digital last year.

How does that even work? So they don't fill up their screen anymore? The digital transfers blown up on that screen must look like shit.

I can't see any theatre chains willing to put down the money to change back. People will still come regardless and they don't want to have to go back and forth with The Hobbit's digital requirements later this year.

digital imax is the same as liemax?

I went to an amc digital imax for avater and it wasn't anything different but the cinemark imax for Dark knight had a HUGE SCREEN and we were up CLOSE to it.
