New PS3 Exclusive Revealed Next Week On GTTV (Superbot's PS All-Stars)

Holy shits cannot wait! I fucking love that they show gameplay! I Hope the game is like Powerstone and not like Smashbros. Arena Fighting FTW!

Power Stone ranks as one of my all time favourite games, so if Battle Royale's fighting/stage system resembles it then my head will burst from the sheer awesomeness of it all.

I hope the perspective is 3D rather than a 2D fighter. Powerstonize that shit.

This. Power Stone was such a good game.

Also, considering how many of Sony's mascots are from action/platformers, I could only imagine a game with some strong platforming like PS2's moving levels (the one that had you climb the Japanese-style house or run away from the boulder)

Imagine if it has a crazy, dimension hopping single player mode in addition to the MP. That would be pretty darn fun.

So basically its a super smash brothers for the ps3? But with Sony characters? Hmm.
All we know is it is a game including multiple PlayStation characters. We don't even know it's a fighter but that seems pretty obvious, but even then we don't know if it's going to be 2D or 3D, one on one or more like smash bros, a lot of basic stuff.

Though after reading it probably was TLG. Just the mention of TLG makes me sad :( Such a mess, it should be in Battle Royale to calm the fans.

That clearly was TLG,which is dead now.

maybe it's actually like BR, and PlayStation characters are left in an open island(so it's a free roam sandbox game) and should hunt and kill each other in less than 3 days.

When it comes to fighting games I prefer the Japanese approach so that's my only concern. I don't know if Western devs will get it right and I say that as a huge MK fan. I hope it's a good collaboration with Sony Japan studio or better yet with devs with fighting know-how.

If they get a few big 3rd party characters, this game is gonna be fiyaaah.

Solid Snake (no brainer really, pretty much required)
A Final Fantasy protagonist (Square would most likely part with Lightning... and the game will probably need help on the female roster anyway)
Ezio or the new Assassin from AC3
Leon S. Kennedy (he's not in MvC and he's coming back into the spotlight with RE6)
Lara Croft (She's also coming back with a new game)
A Big Daddy variant
Isaac from Dead Space

That's my short list for 3rd party characters. Half of them were actually in that PS3 commercial from a few months back, so there's already a dialog there. Naturally they should try and get 1 from each big publisher. Can't wait :) Let's goooooo!

Chell would be coming too... Which would be awesome.

Only 3rd party characters that actually matter and must be in this game are Solid Snake(konami), Crash and Spyro (Activision) since they were most known PlayStation characters back in the PSX era.

Don't forget Katie Price from Silent Bomber:

She had nothing to do with the game beside sticking boobs next to a new IP logo.

I think Solid Snake retained his relevancy, but Crash and Spyro haven't. When it comes to 3rd parties, legacy isn't as important as what's currently popular and thus also has a reason to be cross-promoted in some way.

Game needs Cloud Strife in the roster, considering how heavily affiliated FF7 still is with the Playstation. Not how he looks in that Advent Children garbage mind, but how he looked during the combat.

wouldn't say no to cubic blocky Cloud either

Just got the image in my head of Chell fighting Kratos. Needless to say that would be pretty awesome.
Every time a character is suggested the first thing anyone does is imagine him/her fighting Kratos XD

Suggesting characters seems to be the popular thing, but what are you guys thinking in regards to stages?

PaRappa Rappa is going to be in this game, how is that at all relevant? Though I do agree there is no real business benefit in acquiring Crash. If they do it is 100% fan service and nothing more.

Would be hilarious if it had a Wipeout stage that was almost the exact same as the F-Zero one. Or would that be a Twisted Metal stage?

Maybe they're making a new PaRappa for Vita? :D

Well...

Parappa the Rapper hasn't been heard from since the PS2's Parappa the Rapper 2 -- unless you count the Japan-only cartoon, or the PSP port of the first game. However, creator Masaya Matsuura told me during a pre-TGS meeting that the flat, self-doubting puppy remains in his thoughts. "We always think about the possibility of remaking or rebuilding or making sequels," Matsuura said.

He told me that he prefers handheld platforms to consoles for rhythm games, because the built-in screens reduce the risk of latency between the controller input and the on-screen display. And thus the PlayStation Vita represents a "good chance" for him to revisit his signature series.

Pretty sure that there will be a TM stage if Sweet tooth is in, which he is.

Wouldn't mind a WipeOut/F-Zero stage though haha.

Awesome, will watch.

Hope the gameplay footage is solid, and not just half-a-second clips thrown together. Should be since Geoff played it.

You could do a Patapon stage. Patapons carrying the stage that you fight on, occasionally stopping to fight an enemy tribe. Some of the enemies arrows could fly on the screen and hit you.

Glad we're finally going to see the game. I'm on the fence about if I want it but I'll be sure to give footage a look.

Well The Last Guardian stage should be an empty black level with 'cancelled" banner on it and dead Catbird thingy in the background.

Its odd...if you go to twitter and look up Superbot half the results come back with a repost about the thursday reveal and they are referring to it as a "brawler". Hopefully that means a Smash clone because that'd be great.

Well, "brawler" is usually used as another name for beat 'em ups. Which would mean that it'd be along the lines of Streets of Rage and Final Fight.

Well, I said relevance matters for third party characters. PaRappa is Sony's character, so he's easy to put in there as fan service and to spruce up the roster at no extra cost.

I thought the original rumours said that this was going to pretty much be a Smash clone, down to the 4 players on a dynamic stage and even the direction+input fighting mechanics?

I think I heard the rumor about 4 player, still don't know if it'll be 2d plane or 3d stage like power stone though. it's not a traditional fighting game like Tekken or SF
