The first "money shot" has now been shown with Batman standing atop a bridge with the wind sweeping his cape behind him.

Meanwhile, police commissioner James Gordon has his hands full as he loses his grip on Gotham to Bane. We did not see much of him in this reel, but there was an incredible shot of Gordon lighting a road flare while searching for Batman, only for The Dark Knight to oblige his old friend, emerging from the smoke. You'll have to see it to understand just how amazing this shot looks.

Wally locking up his 5th Oscar nomination.

You and I. Apparently we're in the minority here. Half the posters in this thread pretty much know the entire goddamn movie including Alfred's death and resurrection in the Lazarus Pit.

Yeah, I hard Pfister's lighting in that scene is gorgeous, all sickly green with streaks of red as Alfred emerges out of the pit naked and thirty years old, clutching dead Bruce's mask and muttering to himself "Gotham needs its true hero."

NotTheGuyYouKill, you idiot! He isn't holding Bruce's mask, he's holding a tangerine.

When I saw The Avengers last night, my friend was saying to me 'You know, apparently the new TDKR trailer is attached to this', which prompted me to tell him that is only for the domestic release.

Then the reels changed and the WB, DC and Syncopy titles came up and I allowed myself to get a little bit excited. Then it was the last trailer. :/

But it was damn good hearing it in the cinema.

Dude, spoilers. You know I'm pretty much the only Nolan and Batman fan who doesn't read spoilers!

A shame, though the surprise twist of Bane being Bruce Wayne's long lost half-brother (Thomas Wayne had some wild nights when overseas) will still be a surprise for you when you watch the movie.

Speaking of MV, I actually watched it recently for the first time.

It was okay. Not bad, not particularly great.

Still never liked Mann's HDV style.

Batman is going to be down at some point in this movie, but he will rise and he will be well-equipped in this war. We've seen his new aerial vehicle before and learned it's name, The Bat, but this footage really showed it in action. It moves like a jet, doing a barrel roll as it whips over a Gotham skyscraper, but lands almost gently and efficiently like a helicopter within the safety of The Batcave. The Bat is cool. No doubt about it.

Hnnnnngggg.

You're dead to me, man (Sculli). Mad swagger with Mann's DV. Same as on Collateral. Two of the most baller looking movies in the past decade.

Let me give you a preview of the review I will type up after seeing the film two days before you, DM:

I actually like it in Collateral.

It sticks out badly in Miami Vice because of a lot of the night time scenes - especially when they're on the boats at night, heading toward the guys that have kidnapped Foxx's squeeze.

Forreal, I still remember that green WB logo and the familiar Matrix music.

Lets hope my experience with TDKR isn't similar to those disappointments though.

There is no bigger boner I've gotten from a WB logo than when the green-tinted one appeared before The Matrix Reloaded in theatres along with that familiar sound. Along with the Village Roadshow sign.

Fuck I forgot all about that.

I really need to rewatch that trilogy again. The second two are totally subpar compared to the masterpiece that is The Matrix but I never felt like they were total garbage.

Granted I only ever watched Revolutions once.

I did exactly what you are doing for The Dark Knight. I wish I didn't. I even skipped Joker's bank heist prologue, went in complete blank slate. After the movie was over, I wished I knew some of the bits and pieces before hand. Stop being an anti-spoiler nazi.

So people will see the Avengers, enjoy it, but feel bad about seeing it immediately after but feel ultimately satisfied. While people will see the Dark Knight Rises, enjoy it at first but when they come home to digest and look at the bill they will realize it wasn't really worth the cash and they should've just eaten fast food instead?

Sounds about right.

A man can hurt himself stretching that hard.

After watching the TKDR trailer yet again I've realized that Marion Cotillard should've been catwoman, tell me i'm not right gaf.

In response to Jett.

Well in the DC universe Catwoman is inferior to Talia. So if the rumor that has been going around forever is true it fits.
