This will NOT be the last shot in the movie like many are speculating. This will come after Batman makes his first appearance in 8 years.

The shot of Gordon lighting the flare with batman appearing is going to be tr first time we see him come back

I love The Dark Knight, seen it like 10 times, masterpiece, but I like Begins more, and I have no idea why, maybe it's the mood.

Same though its because it focuses on Bruce, Wayne family flashback, the ninja training, Tumbler chase, and Liam as Ra's was an interesting villain.
I will say TDK is the much better movie, but as a superhero blockbuster I enjoyed Begins more.

I hope to god not. It will literally, retroactively ruin the other two films for me and I assume many others as well.
I would hate the entire series in retrospect.

Yeah, as it stands right now the two things Ive seen about TDKR that I really don't like are the football scene and the Batwing. Both feel completely out of place in the universe established in the first two films.

Im still of the opinion a VTOL version of

would have looked better and been more believable in this world.

The stated use of the Tumber is still one of the oddest part of the films. A car designed for the purpose of jumping ravines to drag a rope across them? From the manufacturer who already makes handgun sized grappling hook launchers? What.

Yeah. And then they should put wheels on it to make it easy to move. And it'd probably help in tight spots if we could have a pilot guide the landing.

Fire grappling hook wires, which are strong enough to hook a man onto a speeding monorail without breaking the cable (and somehow his arm).
Winch bridge cables along the connected wires with a pulley system.

Why didn't they shoot in Chicago this time? Kind of strange.

DM could probably provide you with the real answer but as far as I know/remember it had something to do with Chicago raising filming taxes and or Nolan wanting to get some of the NYC backdrop.

Or because it would be easier to shut down portions of Pittsburgh for the big riot scenes.

BTW that gif where Batman slowly turns around to face a menacing Bane just standing there makes me want to shit my pants. LOOK OUT BATMAN BANE GONNA HURT YOU!

I want at least 5 shots of Batman just standing atop some building, brooding, cape flowing, and just looking out at Gotham.

Yeah I don't know why people think its an odd opinion. I love both but there are things that I def like more about Begins.

To me its because I actually find Batman/Bruce to be the most interesting character in the whole Batman universe and Begins focuses solely on him, his loss, his anger, and his becoming Batman. And it does it perfectly.

TDK is more about the Joker, which it does flawlessly and nails the character, but Bruce takes a backseat because of it and while some people are more interested in the Joker and Batman's villains, I prefer a focus on Bruce.

As a Chicagoan, I'm glad they didn't shoot here.

It's an utter shitshow every time they shoot something downtown.

For the bridge scene in NYC (Queensboro bridge leading into and out of Queens) they shut it down starting Fri night until Sun afternoon. People were going nuts. They did a news story about it and people are pissed. The funniest part was when they interviewed really old people or cabbies who I assume would have never gone to see the movie anyway, some responded saying "I NEVER WATCH THIS MOVIE BECAUSE OF WHAT THEY PUT US THROUGH THIS WEEKEND!"

Dark Knight Rises |OT| No Jokes, Riddles, or Robins

Seriously. There's not going to be shit on Joker. If you want some Joker in your life, watch TDK, where his story arc begins and ends.

And you know this because you're already seen TDKR, right?

I assume he knows it because he likes the previous Nolan Batman films more than he did The Avengers, and the trailer is strong enough that he may think its going to be better already. Or he hates the Avengers and he can't see himself hating this.

Bullshit speculation time. Basing it on what was show in the teaser/trailers/prologue so far. I have intentionally left out things that were guessed/leaked from the filming etc. Still it would be best if you dont read it but if you do, you might get a few laughs out of it. ;)

Movie opens with Bane intro (Prologue), he's capturing all key scientists to build him an implosion device (guessing it works with manipulating gravitational force or something). Backstory on Bane's origins. Blake (JGL) is the small cop similar to the Gordon in BB, he believes in Batman despite the murders being pinned on him. He keeps spreading the bat symbol across the city in hopes of keeping Batman's terror alive in the criminal's minds, tries to dig stuff up on his own like the cover up for Dent etc. Batman's gone into hibernation (:P) in that jail, so that he's away from Gotham and the difficult moral decisions he has to make if he's there. Intro to Selina and how she's a suave slick burglar, Bane mean while keeps kidnapping all the rich guys (1%) and starts taking control of the city's finances literally. Here he also tracks down Bruce and captures him, throws him deeper into his cell. Bruce motherfuckin' RISES, literally. Gordon seriously injured in one of Bane's attacks is in the hospital, Bruce visits him on his return to Gotham and realises he has to take on the Batman mask one more (& final) time. Selina visits Bruce's return party (along with Miranda), gets caught and thrown into jail. Bane then takes over Gotham (football stadium and the stock exchange scenes) and then breaks out all the prisoners to assemble his mass army. Selina free now, does not join Bane's army and decides to take a stand as her fight is against the rich and not Gotham's destruction. She takes on Catwoman's role as there is no Batman yet. I'm guessing but maybe Lucius helps out Selina become Catwoman (her goggles?) or she steals the batpod and the goggles .. Bruce montage of training hard and then he makes his appearance on the bridge as Batman. Big Batman Bane brawl in daylight, Catwoman makes her appearance and saves Bruce's ass, they take on Bane's army in The Bat. Final showdown will have Batman Bane one on one brawl in water with the mask getting broken and SOME ONE will win. JGL gets injured by one of Bane's thugs and SOME THING will happen to him.

Obviously I cannot even begin to imagine how it will all end. :P

Obviously the movie will be more complex than that and a lot more arcs, based on this movie alone and from Begins as well.

Yes, I was BOARD! Come at me bros.

I think the most we'll get about the Joker will be a one off mention in conversation, probably to do with Gordon/Batman/Dent. "... He stopped the Joker..." etc
