All that makes sense. So yeah, this is pretty much going by the common knowledge of what everyone thought would be in it. So far. I'm still expecting most of the surprise to be in the software.

Mark Gurman (owner?) seems to be good friends with chronic, and chronic has his sources, so that's one way.
They definitely have some employee friends, because whenever they "break" the fact that a company was acquired, I'm pretty sure they're just asking someone at Apple to check the internal staff directory. They realize a company has been acquired when all the old employees of the company show up as new Apple employees.
I think the site was originally founded under the premise of anonymous Apple employees leaking/discussing about Apple, but I might be misremembering.

Apparently it looks like that's very possible. 9to5 seems to speculate a month or so earlier.
I'm hoping for an end of July release, or August.

I hope so. My poor 3GS is a crash-a-thon these days and I'm ready for a new phone, but I've been holding out for the 5/6/whatever the hell it's called.

A part of me wants all of these leaks to just be controlled Apple leaks of fake shit to throw off the scent of the real stuff...
...but the other part of me knows that enough stuff is leaking at this point that all seems entirely the same and almost certainly representative of what the final product would be.

Tim Cook would surpass almost every Apple announcement save the original iPhone with a stunt like that. I want it too...

Ughhhh. That's such a hassle. It would cause me so much anxiety, have to worry about the right price, getting scammed, not having a phone, do I unlock it first, etc etc. That would give me a panic attack.
Well, I guess if youre prone to anxiety attacks, then it might be hassle. But Ive never had a problem selling the phones on craigslist. 4 years running. they usually sell in a couple days.
just insist on cash, meet in public, wipe the phone and thats it.

Im holding my phone now, bring to hit the upper, opposite corner of the screen where this new screen ends, which is pretty much the top of the phones body
its not comfortable at all. i need to shift my entire palm upward. and then hitting the home button or any button on the lower tab bar requires me to move my hand down again.
ugh. 16:9 blows chunks ergonomically.

Based on what I've seen it seems the new iPhone will have roughly the same dimensions as the Triumph. That video makes it look longer though, maybe its the rounded corners. I wonder if they could have put the camera beside the ear piece and shaved a bit of length.

He's talking about you selling your phone on Craigslist and then buying a new one unlocked. I'm sure there's a tutorial online of how to do it. Worst case scenario is you should be able to trade it in to Best Buy if you don't care about only getting 1/4 what it's worth.

So far based on the leaks, the phone seems a bit underwhelming. I also didn't realise the width was the same. That's annoying. One of the main issues I have at the moment is the need to zoom in on certain websites because you can't view everything in the regular zoomed out window. If they'd gone 1280x720 with a slightly bigger screen width too, it would have been better imo. As is it's it's basically the same with a bit of aded vertical real estate.
Oh and the other thing is that I feel there's too much wasted physical phone space top and bottom of the screen. Phone seems longer than it needed to be.
Bad lighting, I don't imagine it looks too different than the aluminum on my MacBook. It kind of looks beige-ish/off white with indirect lighting.

Honestly, gazelle is a good option now. They stick purely to iOS devies mostly now, and they have a much better, broader array of categories of quality for your phone. A 16 gig 4S can get you around 260 bucks. I'm going to sell my 4 and my mom's old 4 for around 250, so I'll be covered for a 16 gig 5.

Not feeling the new design... I have pretty big hands but I feel like it's just too much of stretch with those dimensions to bring down the notifications. The two tone is gross too.

A 16 GB 4S is going from anywhere between 300 and 475 on Craigslist around me. So you're leaving quite a bit of money on the table if you don't try to sell it yourself.
My 32GB iPhone 4S is practically full so it's looking like I will be getting the next iPhone.
I'm guessing I can get about $450 for my phone. The 64GB version of the new iPhone unlocked should be around $800 so I'll be paying about $350-$400 for it which would be very close to the price of the phone on a two year contract (at least I think so).

I hear there's actual electrical components inside and not just empty space that they can cut. LTE, battery, GPU, etc etc.

Hm. Well my mom's old 4 has a cracked screen, so I'm gonna use gazelle for that because I'm sure it'd be hard to get a decent deal from any interested buyer from ebay. They pay 75 bucks for a cracked 4. Then I'll sell my 4 via craigslist then, probably could get...eh, 200, would you say?
Surprised they couldn't just compact it all in a little more. I mean, it can't be that far from what goes inside a 4S right? And I thought as technology develops components get smaller. Assuming a lower nm process CPU and GPU etc.

Just look in your area and see what's out there.. You should be able to sell hers with a cracked screen on there too. Just state that's what it is. If you've never sold anything on there, I'd also say that you're not looking for any trades. Not that it'll do you any good. Someone will still offer to trade you a broken PS2, an old desk chair, and an old saxophone in exchange. That's part of the fun of it.
