I totally disagree. It's far far more Aliens than Alien. Of course he could have made something closer to the original. It's not like the action sequences were hacked in there the night before release as he slept.Of course he was. It's not like he set out thinking he'd like to make an inferior, middle-of-the-road prequel.

You seen it Solo?
Nope. Ill be seeing it Friday.
My comments sre just with respect to the middling reviews.

It's not even close to the slow paced, bleak horror of the original. It's very Aliens. What? No, totally disagree
People have to realize that, like spielberg, Ridley has gotten old. These guys aren't in their 30's anymore.
Except that Spielberg of the new millennium has produced some of his absolute best work.
And a lot of his worst, too, mang.
Spielberg has been hit and miss since the start. War of the Worlds was garbage, then right after Munich was incredible.
I haven't actually been a fan of Scott for more of his career, I at least enjoyed this more than anything he's done in a very long time.
NopeWar of the Worlds is not garbage. Just the last thirty seconds.
NopeDanny Boyle still got the best space-faring sci-fi of the last decade btw.
War of the Worlds had phenomenal suspense the first time you watch it. One of the most intense theatrical experiences I've ever had. I saw it with a packed audience that was kind of loud during some of it but during that basement scene everyone collectively shut the fuck up.
I don't get the hate this movies gets around here.

Love The Fountain, but it's purposely ambiguous as to whether it's sci-fi or not.The Fountain is the best scf-fi of recent times I think.
Hey sculli did you like the movie?
It's irrelevant though. Either it's real in the context of the film, or it's sci-fi within the film. Either way, it's sci-fi.Love The Fountain, but it's purposely ambiguous as to whether it's sci-fi or not.
Go back a page. It's complicated. It's a good sci-fi movie, it's just disappointing considering what it could have been.
And the best sci-fi of recent time is still Children of Men.
Let's hope Gravity does.children of men fucking owned.
And Woola. Oh man, can you imagine how awesome this movie would have been with some goddamn Woola in there. Fuckin dog is awesome.
Prometheus needed more Clive Owen.

He ruined the end credits?
Are you kidding about Woola? Because I fucking loved it. If you're just being sarcastic, I'm gonna have to hit you.![]()
I never kid about Woola. He used to be in my avatar. Woola is fucking awesome. Makes every scene he's in about 50x better once he shows.

the part with John obliterating everything in sight with the Giacchino and intercutting with the flashbacks was sooo amazing, and then... Woola joins the fray and completely tore cunts a new cunthole.
Fountain was so damn preachy that I couldn't wait for it to be over, despite how incredible it looked and sounded. Most of the time I felt movie was trying to teach me something that I knew more about than Aronofsky did when he wrote it.Nope

That would probably be my choice too.And the best sci-fi of recent time is still Children of Men.

1:15 dear lord
Oh, man, cutting back to those flashbacks over and over again ruined that scene. We get it.
I don't see it as pushing any agenda personally.Fountain was so damn preachy that I couldn't wait for it to be over, despite how incredible it looked and sounded. Most of the time I felt movie was trying to teach me something that I knew more about than Aronofsky did when he wrote it.
Goddamn I need Carter on blu. Not saying it's better than Prometheus but...it totally fuckin is. Still the best movie I've seen in cinemas this year.the part with John obliterating everything in sight with the Giacchino and intercutting with the flashbacks was sooo amazing, and then... Scullibundo you're a nice person and all. And I can see how someone can enjoy John Carter. But...

Children Of Men is a good shout but apart from that and Prometheus, I loved Moon. Loved it.
Yeah, filmed in 3D.So this movie was filmed specifically in 3D? 3D wasn't tacked on afterwards?
