It has nothing to do with him being a hardcore gamer or not, but everything to do with the fact that he had to pretend to like it, and you could see right through it all. Sony closed with The Last of Us which everyone is still talking about... Nintendo closed with a fucking flythrough of Nintendo Land. I laughed my ass off, unfortunately.

Honestly I could see Reggie showing up out of the blue and playing off the banter already set up in the main conference of when 3DS conference dude showed up. Something about giving him time at Reggie's conference so now Reggie gets some time at his.
I don't really expect that though. I just expect what was shown at the conference yesterday + Animal Crossing, Harvest moon, maybe pokemon conquest, maybe pokemon B/W2, and maybe Fire Emblem. Honestly all those games could easily take a hour if they go into them. I am betting the biggest "surprise" would be a Fire Emblem localization announcement (on the other hand if they don't announce it then I would assume it isn't coming here).

No, but this is a Software Showcase. Had they new hardware to announce, they'd have done it yesterday when they were showing NSMB2, Paper Mario and Luigi's Mansion.

All I want is Fire Emblem: Awakening. It could be 59:59 of the next Brain Age and a one second frame announcing the localization of Awakening and I'd be satisfied.

It's been that way for a while now. Remember in 2008 when Animal Crossing was the game for hardcore gamers? It's always been this charade... I'm not convinced he's ever actually played a game for more than a few hours. You can watch him play Mario Kart 7 on some YouTube video and he doesn't even know how to use the circle pad properly.
This shit is why I'm jaded and cynical, Nintendo.

There is no way they announce a 3DS revision this year. They already need to worry about moving Wii U hardware this holiday, they don't want to introduce a new 3DS as well. The current 3DS is doing just fine so right now it is unnecessary anyways. Maybe we will see something next E3...at that point the system will have been out over 2 years.

If Nikkei are to be trusted (and they are), then there is definitely an XL on the way.
Whether it'll be shown tonight or not is anyone's guess.
