So what are the chances of a Zelda 3DS game being announced?

WHAT ABOUT THIS!?!?

Wait, Nikkei reports about fat 3DS were false? C'mon, son. At least make this conference somehow good for minor redemption.

this man is dead, isn't he?

Yeah, the developers are dead. Would have loved to see what they would have done on WiiU. I wonder why Nintendo never bought them, first Hotel Dusk was a million seller, wasnt it? This always makes me sad, fuck :(

Maybe already posted, but Nintendo's E3 3DS section on YouTube has 6 videos that are currently private: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL334D7101ACBE3C39

...but given that they don't yet have trailers up for Paper Mario, Luigi's Mansion, Castlevania, or Epic Mickey, that wouldn't seem to leave room for an abundance of new announcements. :-/

So those four games, a sizzle reel, and maybe one surprise if we're really lucky.

Actually, Scribblenauts Unlimited might be another one, so quite possibly no real news from this. That's pretty much what I was already expecting, though, so at least I shouldn't be disappointed.

Guess we'll have to wait until the next Nintendo Direct. I wasn't really hoping for handheld news at E3, but man last year was just as bad for handheld software.

Has Level 5 taken over publishing Layton here or does Nintendo still do that?
It appeared on NOE's releaseschedule as a Nintendo published title...

I have to assume whatever shows here: http://e3.nintendo.com/games/#/3ds/new-super-mario-bros-2 is what Nintendo will show tonight. I hope for more, but I can't see them expanding on that list. Plus, wouldn't any surprises be on the showfloor already? Unless they announce Fire Emblem for a 2013 Spring release or something.

Where can we watch this? e3.nintendo.com?
Is there a live stream (does youtube do those?) that I can follow from my iPad?

Any word on Animal Crossing...or is there a suspicion that this is going to be out in 2013 now?

NSMB 2 = August
Paper Mario = Q4
Luigi's Mansion = Q4

I don't see AC being squeezed in there. Unless they pump one of these per month Oct-Dec.

NSMB2 is not as great as I had hoped. And the sticker aspect of PM is weak...what am I a 15 year old girl? Their better be some megatons tonight.

Paper Mario is known for its strategic depth. If they called the badges in the first two games stickers instead, it would suddenly be for 15 year old girls?

A sticker theme makes sense in a game called PAPER Mario.

The old NSider forums were still around back when Super Paper Mario launched. That pic got lots of laughs.

Nintendo actually believe they've had a good e3. This conference will be another disappointing turd, calling it now.

Of course, by virtue of having new Luigis Mansion gameplay and other things, it'll probably be better than Tuesday... But megatons are out. Nintendo think they're the bees knees already.

They need something else, Animal Crossing is 2012 in Japan, it'd be very strange not seeing it here at the same time. Hell, Brain Training 3 is Summer 2012 in Japan.

E3 on GAF in a nutshell.

You can drop the E3 bit.

So, even though they said that this is a 3DS software thing mostly, any chance they'll showcase a Wii U game or two, like they did with the 3DS in the conference proper? Though I guess with showing the 3 games they had during the conference, Animal Crossing,
Fire Emblem (lol)
, and a 3rd party reel, that doesn't give much time for it.

Hows that even possible?dont they read the news?really?cmon

Hotel dusk was a really good game. Shame there's no wii u or 3ds version. I really liked the games puzzle solving. And that twist at the end was creepy hehe

I think the best we'll get in terms of "surprises" tonight are the announcement of some games being put up on the eShop, available either later tonight or tomorrow, just like they did last year. But I still hold out a glimmer of hope for Metroid 5.

I didn't get a chance to see your impressions. I'll assume you were disappointed as well.

The nintendo conference was so bad that it actually ruined my day. All that hype and then nothing. I mean even the nintendo apologists were disappointed. First party games were laughable and it's evident that the IGN survey was true--third parties want nothing to do with nintendo. I basically spent the next couple of hours saying "wow" and laughing in disbelief. I was ready to line up for my first ever console launch. Now I know that that money will be going towards my up and coming student debt. I'm 3DS only until next gen (720/ps4) barring a few releases ala Bioshock Infinite, etc.

Nicely summed. I feel the same way, though, I'm going to wait until the next Nintendo Direct before I say I'm going to hold off getting it at launch. The third party situation is quite laughable. I had expected Nintendo to have changed in this regard, but what we saw showed they haven't.

And nintendo isn't even taking advantage of the system's power. The best looking game on the platform in Trine 2 and Rayman Legends. That's said. The WiiU offers nothing that existing 360/ps3 gamers want that would cause them to jump ship. And while I love nintendo's IP, I cannot support a company that is completely out of touch in the console space. Not to mention the muddled direction. If the WiiU controller is so revolutionary, then why have so many controller options. The controller interface is a mess and nintendo is throwing everything at the proverbial wall and is hoping to see what sticks. I was burned with the Wii and I won't be burned with the WiiU.

I hope Zelda 3DS is more meaty than the DS Zeldas. Didn't play them but both looked very anemic.

WHAT ABOUT THIS!?!?

I find it interesting that "New" is capitalized, just like it is in "New Super Mario Bros." This could only mean that they're going to reveal "New Legend of Zelda" tonight!

Probably just a meaningless typographical choice, but I'm hoping they'll mention something about 3DS Zelda tonight.

They were the only two Zelda games (not counting the CDi ones) that I couldn't even force myself to finish. And my god, I tried. Just tedious, painful shit.

Agh, don't say that. As it is, I equate the "New" moniker with "generic game - insert franchise here."

We are already getting Harvest Moon and Code Princess so I'll be happy as long as we get Fire Emblem.

Project Mirai would be a megaton for me.

They already did reveal a Zelda Game :P

But in this case, it'd be a welcome return to the style of A Link to the Past.

Who DOESNT want that? Honestly. It would be fucking ideal, especially in 3D.

I see where you're coming from. It's sad that the best looking games are possible on 360/PS3 , but you have to keep in mind that usually the launch titles don't usually display the power of the system. This is still no excuse for the terrible conference and lack of content. I will also pass on the console if they do not announce or show the 2013 lineup within the upcoming months before launch. It's sad that they have no clue what they're doing with the controller. The wiimote made a lot of sense, but this controller is starting to look like a miss with most developers.
