No, read Aoi Hana.

You won't regret it.

Until you do.

One Piece:

Did I hallucinate Aokiji taking part in that arc?

Excluding the Buster Call Flashback, Aokiji just made a "cameo" appearance at the end so the actual involvement in the story was limited/smaller in scale. Which is different from Thriller Bark with the Gecko Moria reveal and then Kuma showing up at the end, Shabondy Archipelago with DoFlamingo + Kuma + Kizaru showing up, Amazon Lily and Boa Hancock, Impel Down and Blackbeard and Jinbei and Crocodile, the War Arc and everything in it, Fishman Island and Jinbei and Big Mom, and now Punk Hazard. And I'm not saying this was a bad thing for any of these arcs individually (Shabondy Archipelago being my favorite One Piece arc), but when you look at it all together it's getting old fast.

Since the SH enter the grand line most of the arcs were base around the Emperor/Shichibukai/Marines
Admiral had something to do with the water 7 arc since one put everything motion in the first place.
Most of the big arcs in the first half had something to do with the 3 main groups well Marines and Shichibuka most of the time expect Skypiea.
CC ,Vergo, Slim look like the big bad guys for this arc all 3 are new characters did you really expect people you list to give the SH any trouble what so ever .
The Admiral fight you talking about happen 2 years ago so it really don't mean much to this arc .
Oda has characters that were around for years he has to do something with them before he could not because of certain factors things have change .
Also this is the first arc of the NW later on they might go to a island that has no connection to the 3 main groups like Skypiea but it make no sense for that to happen right away .

Ceasar, Vergo, and Slim are all connected to Vegapunk and now Doflamingo. They've become more "interesting" and have gained more hype simply by Oda associating them with these major characters. Without those connections would anyone care about those characters any more than we did the Yeti Cool Brothers/Dragon/etc...?

For someone who's nickname is "Goda" in this topic, you guys sure do come up with a lot of excuses for why he can't mix things up a little bit/stop using the same tricks to impress fans.

Thing is Fishman Island started off fine, it was a unique place with odd people and some familiar faces, but, then it gets bogged down with racism and Hody doing nothing but gloating only to be beat down. People wanted to see what was going on in the New World which had been hyped for years. People were excited for Big Mam because it meant the plot was picking up and we could finally see some real fights. This current arc is good because it features new characters alongside old, an ideal situation and one that can tie up loose ends instead of waiting years for them to be seen again.
This is true, you have to remember that introducing more new character is just going to force more, "Well maybe we'll see *this* in the future." One Piece doesn't really need that, and even Fishman Island pretty much resolved Arlong and Hody as characters and brought closure to their backstories. I think One Piece is pretty much going to be like this for now on, while introducing new characters, but also bringing closure to old ones.

Aokiji is who set everything in motion when he fought them on long ring island .
That whole arc was because of him in the first place yeah he did not take part but he was still the cause and SH were to weak to fight Admiral .

What your asking for make no sense story wise for the first arc in the NW .
The Emperors rule the NW they have islands under them that they control and marines are also fighting for power it make sense that the SH meet up with them first or people with connections to them .
You still did not answer the question why should Oda not use characters he had around for years that we know control that part of the ocean .
How is he suppose to mix up stuff for the first arc in the NW , Luffy meets someone stronger enough to give him a fight that no connection to 3 main groups makes no sense.
Maybe after this arc he can do but he has loads of characters that we already know and he needs to end there storyline or show them for the first time.

Yeah it's called storytelling, a talent Kishimoto and Kubo do not possess.

Haha I remember when Infinite Justice posted spoilers and I was like... Wow that's fucken bad. But I dropped it before cause my waifu lost, as usual.

It's funny because it was good, then the new student council happened and then it just went downhill from there.

I actually liked the new student council.

But then it kept going.

Also i think most fans what to know more about characters or people with connections to them that we have heard about 10 plus years ago.
The same can be said for other manga for eg certain characters bankai in bleach .

Aokiji's involvement was still WAY more limited in comparison to what's been going on since Thriller Bark and beyond. The best comparison in terms of involvement right now would be how Punk Hazard got created originally from Aokiji and Akainu's fight. Compare that to the 5+ story connections to the 3 big groups we are dealing with in this arc. Meanwhile what did Water 7 introduce? CP9, new marines, Franky and the Water 7 crew...characters that stood out on their own. Lucci didn't need to be Jinbei's underling or Akainu's second in command to be a bad ass.

And you're still not reading what I'm saying. I didn't say Oda can't/shouldn't use the characters at all or even most of the time. I'm saying that if Oda gives us 2 arcs straight of Shichibukai/Emperor/Admiral based stories, that for the 3rd arc, it would be cool if he just threw in a random location with Giants or Ninjas or Elf Island or whatever with nothing to do with any of the three groups mentioned. THEN he can go back to status quo again to make all the Shichibukai/Emperor/Admiral fans happy. A very simple request that shows the man still knows how to properly build up new characters.

Just because you can't imagine this in the world Oda has created doesn't mean it's not possible for Oda to do, especially when he did it before! So don't give me story reasons as to why Oda can't be creative with his villains and characters when he used to do it for years. Hell wasn't Punk Hazard supposed to be an island completely off the grid/unreachable, with the Straw Hats getting to the island by chance? That right there would explain a lack of Admiral/Emperor/Shichibukai involvement and would have given Oda the perfect chance to show off some new villains and build them up properly as bad guys, but nope, he goes back to the safety net anyway.

Seishun Kouryakuhon vol 1

This is some fine shoujo. Its setup of focusing on a different boy each chapter makes it very refreshing and avoids repetition or dragging any love story. The bromance is also very strong so DTL you might also like it as well.

First chapter was about Isezaki chasing after a girl from the all girls school right next to theirs. Very good setup and satisfying conclusion to it. Second chapter was mostly about Kurata trying to fit in. Not a bad one, but too much bromance. There should have been a love interest shoved in somewhere. Then again, Kurata is probably going after Isezaki. Third chapter was the best, Uemura with his courageous act made him my favourite character of the group so far. Plus him and Haru make a nice couple

I'm guessing second volume will be about Nogami and probably resolve the Isezaki-Nagise relationship.

FUCKING LOL! Kubo is arguably SJ's best artist. He shits on Oda and Kishimoto in terms of art. The man has absolute raw skill and talent.
Not even remotely close, Kubo's drawings have about as much raw skill and talent as something produced by a 14 year old who draws yin yangs on his binders. His art just straight up sucks and if it doesn't suck, it's generic as hell.

Wtf is this even supposed to mean? Think about exactly what you're posting before you finalize this. Your post doesn't make any sense!

I'm just stating exactly what everyone in this thread is afraid to say to not offend the vocal minority of hardcore Bleach fans. Fuck that, I have an opinion, and I'm going to share it. I'm not going to sugarcoat that my opinion is that Kubo is a hack, even if saying that isn't anything particularly new. Especially when someone states that the mockery of all decent art: Kubo Tite, is in fact Jump's best artist when not only do both Kishimoto and Oda out-do him in terms of art, but a crapload of other SJ artists do too. Even Toriyama has better skill than Kubo at actually drawing shit.

When Kubo's art has the designs of Kingdom Hearts, mixed in with the proportions of Captain Tsubasa, and for someone to claim that mockery of a combination is the "best"...well, I'm okay with opinions, even the opinion that completely opposes mine on every level is fine by me. However saying that pretty much disregards the majority of talent that has actually done good art. All Kubo draws is "cool art" without much artistic integrity or creativity involved. You can't even really describe anything he draws other than "Wow, that's really cool." When that's your reaction to everything he draws, then he has a problem as an artist.

One Piece:
Read the bolded. Think Skypiea and Water 7...in other words Emperor/Shichibukai/Admiral free stories. These arcs never dominated the story of One Piece they were "sprinkled" in and were all well done. Regardless it's about balance and moderation. Of course I expect Oda to have the Straw Hats deal with Akainu/Blackbeard/Vegapunk, etc... but not in every single arc and in increasingly heavy doses. So far in this arc we've had Law who is both a Supernova and a Shichibukai so he covers two groups, Law mentioning wanting to take down an Emperor with Luffy, Vegapunk and Ceasar Clown, Akainu and Aokiji having a fight, and now DoFlamingo. I won't be surprised when we find out the Samurai has a connection to Mihawk. Meanwhile out of all the original bad guys/creations, the only one that seems to be worth anything is the slime monster. I guess the Dragon, Yeti Cool Brothers, Chimeras, and Giants should have applied for Shichibukai membership cards.

Having villain of the arc without any connection to the overall story is worthless, and boring.

Since when you were under the impression that your opinion mattered?

Bleach: B

Not only a recap which I appreciate (thanks to part of a chapter being dedicated to it, I have a clear idea of what the core Quincy ability are), but some interesting shit too. That Cage ability is interesting, but what's most intriguing is that Ishida may have these abilities. This Opie dude is strong as FUCK. Yet he isn't a part of the Stern Ritter? I'd say that the SR can destroy anyone not Shunsui, Yamamoto, or Aizen.

Soul Society, as expected, is about to get fucked.

Naruto Uchiha: B

The first grade above a C in like a year. Why is it that as soon as Itachi goes out of the picture, Sasuke goes from bumbling idiot to boss status? He's like "motherfuckers, what do you even want? Get the fuck out of here."

OROCHIMARUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Tobi is still the dumbest villain ever. And good lord Madara is boring as hell. Plot still makes no sense but who cares OROCHIMARUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Since when you were under the impression that your opinion mattered?
Ice cold. :lol :lol :lol

Since when you were under the impression that your opinion mattered?
Because it has reasons to back it up? That's what makes opinions even "matter" in the first place. This is a forum, not facebook. If you're going to post shitposts saying, "I like Bleach." or "Bleach sucks." without much to back it up you shouldn't even be here in the first place.

Fishman Island bashing makes me sad. I enjoyed that arc.

I liked that arc as well due to the racism stuff but Hodi was a shit character to attach that to and the arc suffered greatly.

Anyone else drop this when they learned the ending, got tired of the plot spinning, and Yamada-kun came out?

Cuz...yea.

here

plus other stuff that made no sense to me

Haha I remember when Infinite Justice posted spoilers and I was like... Wow that's fucken bad. But I dropped it before cause my waifu lost, as usual.

I assume you mean Himeji, and I would approve. Best girl overall is Daichi's sister though.

Sorry everyone :(

God damn it

I will just go read Prism to get my yuri fix

I'm gonna guess it's an ending where they resolve nothing.

You are close but you are missing a bit (and that bit is what makes it fucking ridiculous imo)

And i see Big One has appeared with his usual shenanigans LOL

I actually liked Hodi as a character, but he had the fate of being the first post-timeskip villain. In other words, he was fodder for Luffy to show off what he learned. When the most morally twisted villain in the series (with NO excuse for his actions) ends up as essentially a jobber, well it's just kind of wasted potential imo.

He was way fucking worse though (i'm convinced pre timeskip crew could whoop his ass ) which made the racism angle on him fall flat plus as Alim said he had no charisma to fall back on. Arlong at least had a air of being decent during his arc.

Yeah, I guess. I thought the no charisma thing was an interesting approach to set him apart from Arlong though, since the hatred of humans ran so deep in the Fishman District that he was able to gather people even without it. And of course since humans did nothing to him to warrant such hatred, that made him among the most hateable villains in the series.

I can see why people think he sucks though. Definitely underwhelming if nothing else.

Well that's one way to

. Might as well go all out with EXPLOSIONS

Pretty awesome chapter.

Okay. Doesn't have to do with anything remotely related to the post your responding to, but if it makes you feel better to spout unrelated dribble in these discussions then go ahead. I'm still 100% right on this that I have absolutely every right to share an opposing opinion on any board whatsoever, no matter how much you think that's "trolling." Not to mention that to even call it trolling is ludicrous since you might as well be calling every other poster here a troll since my opinion is shared by many who post in this thread.

The dude's a biker. What do you expect from someone who draws cool characters, and then figures out their place in the story afterwards? It's terrible.
