GAH! I'd never have expected that to happen... so yeah, the quarterfinal match is actually over. Really! I'm kind of surprised, actually, it's been so long. It's been going on for a long time, but it's over now... and the team to move along, along with Kiyosumi, is none other than...

the underdog no one thought would be moving on, Himematsu. Yeah, that team with only one player I particularly remember at all. The Himematsu player in this final match did terribly -- she lost 25000 points -- but because they entered with a big lead thanks to their crushing round 3 win, she clung on and knocked out Eisui by 500 points. I guess I'm not entirely shocked, as Eisui (the all-miko team) had been featured for two straight rounds, but still, Himematsu's a pretty little-known team overall. Of course, Ritz does like to do things like that, so maybe it shouldn't be as surprising as it seems. On another note, poor, crying Toyone... and her whole Miyamori team were all seniors, too. They finished fourth and their dreams are over. She deserved better... too bad.

As for Saki herself, she's really scary here. She finishes this match in full scary Terulike mode, except, of course, with Saki-style traits like

going +/-0 in each of the two rounds of the match. Sure, she got +10100 points overall, but look at each hanchan separately, and she went +/-0 in each... and with scary eyes like that, too. The other players didn't have a chance, she was in control...

I wonder what Nodoka will have to say about this... I would guess she won't be thrilled. Sure, she wants Saki to play her best, but THIS Saki...

I am wondering why are you ranking Reborn last? The revelations of the Arcobaleno has been well done.

I just haven't liked this tournament style arc very much. And I might be tired of Tsuna being Tsuna, though it does seem like he's developing better in the recent chapters. If shit does go down like suggested and Tsuna continues being confident, I imagine I'll enjoy the rest of the year's chapters more. I have high hopes for the series though I'm also worried about what Jump's going to do with it.

I also didn't like the whole father plot line for reasons I can't really put a finger on. Probably should reread it to figure out why.

So I just finished Bakuman and I liked it. Some of the chapters during the "battles" seemed like I missed the title which was "Chapter X: Influenced by Death Note" and some of the bad characters resolutions didn't really seem to be more than a page or two of them realizing they were wrong and their methods being inferior to Ashirogi Muto. I would've liked to see more of the actual series they wrote, from the small bits shown they looked interesting. Something that bugged me was how in the beginning it seemed like Team Fukuda was starting off around now with the current Big Three going on without ever mentioning the top authors, but soon those "guys" disappear and they become the top authors and they never really talked about who was in fact on top before they took charge. For a series without a ton of comedy and action I didn't expect much from it but in the end I ended up liking it a lot more than I thought.
