EVO 2012 Thread 2 Because one thread wasnt enough to hold all the hype and the salt

Superman and Batman wear their Fruit of the Loom undies on the outside of their skin tight fullbody leotards.

I'd say he looks just fine considering present company. Besides he ditches the trashcan lid for high tech not-a-trashcan-lid lid pretty quick.

And just look at the stuff your boy Hawk likes to wear to street fights.

You can't compare blocking in 3D games with 2D ones. That's just silly.

Tekken uses back to block.

It's not a matter of these features being used. It's the fact that the game was put up there when such a huge and questionable part of the game is a defining feature.

It's like voting a criminal into office. I totally understand that he might be a good politician and civil servant, but that's not how it will ever be perceived by the majority.

WTF? EVO is not a platform to make a political statement about how you feel about features in a videogame. This is totally dumb. SFxTK is an entirely different situation.

Stream 3 had some pretty great content the past two days. Thought it'd be cool to collect it all and tidy it up!

INDIE GAME PANEL - approx 1 hour. The very start doesn't seem to be archived.

---

CROSSCOUNTER EVO PREVIEW - Start at 2hrs for, I dunno, half an hour to an hour's worth of Ross, Gootecks and Zhi that was on a long loop.

CAPCOM PANEL - same link as above, 00h:30m to 02h:00m

---

ULTRACHEN TV w/ FANATIQ - This was awesome, really, really interesting. Starts at around 23minutes, lasts for about an hour and a half.

---

THE LEVEL|UP EXPERIENCE - starts at around 12 minutes. Haven't watched this yet. Hosted by MarkMan, chatting with Alex Valle, AJ and the behind the scenes crew. With bonus Offcast. Lasts an hour.

PLAYSTATION ALL-STARS - Chatting with Superbot. Starts at around 02h15m. Lasts ~90 minutes.

---

ASSIST ME! - Maximillian, Dr Doom, Phoenix, X-23 and Wesker Q&A. Starts with an intro film that was far too distracting as a thumbnail during Marvel yesterday. Skip to around 35 minutes in. 90 minutes long.

Dude, thank you!

Enough with this faux-maturity stuff. Every fighting game does not have to be the same. This "pure honest fighting" stuff is bordering on becoming bullshit. It's a meme started so some people can make themselves seem like they're serious business about their fitan games.

I get this. But I'd really much rather play my fighting games than spend my time watching cutscenes of my characters bouncing around. I don't mind if there's a story mode with that stuff... but if I know it's the type of game I'm going to play a lot, those transition animations will get boring fast.

There was one on the schedule called "SF Documentaries" was that shown? Might have just been the CC stuff.

Well thats weird. I didnt notice it i guess. Ill have to rewatch the archive or something.

That seems weird seing as how the premiere MLG comentator Juicebox comentated on EVO.

That was what Tom Brady said on testyourmight forum, I am not sure.

I think the game looks (or at least animates) like shit, but I %100 agree with this.

Not every fighting game needs to be "EVO certified and proved" just for the sake of competition. The market can handle people who can try things outside the 90s box, I don't think this thing is gonna be it, but another might.

With the sales of MK9, and the fact that the DC license hasn't enjoyed use in a big budget fighting game that wasn't a crossover, I could see Injustice selling big numbers. Especially if it has super robust single player features like MK9, which is probably a given.

As for this game specifically, the animation seems to follow Netherrealm's motif of making characters move more like real people would, rather than exaggerated cartoons. Seems to be their style - they've already removed a lot of MK9's intentionally legacy animations.

With Virtua Fighter, realistic human movements look authentic cause the fighting styles are realistic. With a super hero game, it looks quirky and odd, but I guess that's going to be Netherrealm's trademark.

Other than the animation not being to everyone's taste, the game already looks highly polished.

Gems are questionable, but a big part of SFxT. SFxT made it to EVO. A lot of stuff in fighters right now is far less offensive than gems. This includes cutscenes as far as I'm concerned.

More stuff is acceptable than before. Gems can even be at EVO next year if EVO wants them there. Nothing more, nothing less.

Gems were questioned and made not a big part of SFxTK. Are you mentally blocking what just happened? They banned gems like they ban DLC characters (also potentially "pay to win").

This has nothing to do with a game which is made not to be played in tournaments like InJustice.

Well Tekken is hold back to block....

Yeah, dunno what happened with that. I'm 99% sure the Stream 3 feed stayed dead after ASSIST ME! finished (which is when 'SF Documentaries' was pegged for). There's definitely nothing in the archives. I don't think it was the CC stuff -- that was fairly even across all games. I hope it pops up somewhere or I missed it.
