I love the disconnect of a diner serving pizza.

Or am I the one disconnected.

Edit: Onions are grand and vital to so many recipes. I just don't like the texture of diced white onions.

Don't go to NY!

They're madly territorial, like a pack of ferral dogs they are.
So I've heard.

The only American pizza I'm dying to try is a Chicago deep dish, but we've covered that already.

So where do you guys prefer to order Pizza's?

I used to buy Pizza's in Papa Johns back when I lived in the UK due to the fact that there was one in walking distance and they'd have pretty damn good deals running. (2 for 1 for example)

I love my 5$ Little Ceasers Pizzas. I have had pizza that was 30 a pie and still prefer ceasers. It's not the best pizza I've ever had but it such a damn comforting taste and always hits the spot.

In the UK, I got myself a 50% discount on the local Pizza hut so that's my to-go place.
Especially when they have any size for £5,99 deals from time to time.

Local places are absolute shit in comparison to pizza chains around here.

Local places always outshine pizza chains. Always.

Papa John's is okay. They do a good thin crust. I used to opt for Hungry Howie's a lot because of their garlic crust. Pizza Hut is my go-to if it's late and other options aren't available.

New York style pizza is just the best overall.

I've been to Gino's in Chicago a few times. Chicago style is alright. I would not go out of my way to eat it, but every once in a while it's good. It is like an actual pizza pie.

Ding ding.

The Hungry Howies around here is decent, but I like the mom and pop pizzeria shop in town better.

Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Most of the people working pizza chains just don't give a shit. They are like factory line workers, there is no love in the ingredient list.

You guys ever had Lahmacun? It's not really a traditional pizza but it tastes damn great.

Pictured above: Turkish pizza, not from Mercan.

They have great boreks and baklava here as well, probably because they're primarily an actual bakery (as opposed to a bakery storefront, where everything is made offsite) and they make everything themselves. But, they also do a fine, fine version of the ubiquitous lamahcun (called Turkse pizza on Amsterdam menus), which is an oven-blistered flatbread coated with ground lamb, pomegranate syrup, garlic, tomato, and spices. When you order, they'll ask you if you want everything on it (they might say, "Alles erop?") and you say yes. A handful of chopped onions, lettuce, and red cabbage are placed on top of the flatbread, and then you get a squirt of a garlic-yogurt sauce and a squirt of spicy red sambal sauce on top. It's then rolled tight like a burrito, and you walk out as happy as anyone else in the city for the next 5 minutes.

A local place here in pittsburgh, called Venice. I think they might be a chain.....

Have I missed the Pizza talk? I had pizza earlier. Two for Tuesday from Dominoes. I had it with BBQ sauce, meatballs, ham, pepperoni and sausage. It was good and I plan to eat the rest tomorrow after being warmed up in the microwave (cold pizza is disgusting and if you like it you should be ashamed).

There's a place called Rocco's here as well as Stefano's, both owned by the same people I think but are different in how they make their pizza.

I wish I had a pizza stone to make my own.

ooooh, i like that top, where did you get it?

Thanks! I bought it when I lived in Japan (all my weirdest clothes come from there.)

Hmm... I think I'll try using something a bit newer than three years old. Anyone want to go for a full body pic theme? :O

edit: Not the best of angles, but I like this one.

Lahmacun is sooo good. Thank god DC and Baltimore have a few Turkish restaurants or I'd go crazy.

Also, favorite pizza toppings include sausage, pancetta, prosciutto, bacon, ham, pepperoni, ground beef, and really most meats.

I also enjoy caramelized onions, sun dried tomatoes, roasted garlic cloves, and black olives. And thin crust all the way.

Decided to take a new pic. Will try and get a good one at some point. This'll do for now. An actual recent one... Taken a few minutes ago.

Is it too much? :/

I was tired of looking at the cookie.
I read that as cocaine. I think I should sleep...
