...This isn't the first time I see your pics as Tira.

....funny story about that, actually... yeah...

Lookin' gorgeous btw. Tira fangirlism notwithstanding.

I'm flattered :)

I'm not a fashion guy, but have you ever thought of making tailor made cosplay costumes for other people? I'm sure there are tons of services already out there, but you could make a few pounds.

I know a couple people who do and some people have asked me if I could commission something for them, but it's just too damn much work for me to be willing to do it for others.

Rehosted the image. And yeah, I made them. Cosplay is the biggest drain of time and money in my life, but I love it.

KB, what is your advice on male costumes? The truly impressive ones I've seen tend to be heavily armored (ex. iron man, storm troopers, etc). I want to attend my next con with a good costume but it's dauntingly hard.

Question for RPgaf, when did you guys/gals finally feel like you figured out who you are as a person?

The short answer is, unless you're easily content or not very deep, it is unlikely you will every completely figure yourself out before the term octogenarian is inserted in to your life. And you know what, that's fine. You're going to spend your life learning just as much about yourself as you learn about everyone else. You're going to find out what kind of husband you can be in both good times and bad. What kind of father you will be when you realize that raising someone that hates your guts despite all the good you've done for them both financially and emotionally is dismissed because teenage hormones are a hell of a thing. You'll find out what a being a mourning son feels like or how it will feel to hold your grandson.

You're nearly 20. You don't know shit and that's pretty great, too. It's just as scary as it is great, mind you, but it's not one without the other.

I was reading the other day why people tend to get feelings of sadness or dread when finishing a book. The idea is that what was once fluid has become static. There is no way to ever back what you had before. You start to realize and dread that the canvas is becoming increasingly more filled and eventually there's nothing more to do except just watch it play out.

The biggest revelation I have ever had about my life is that it's not a book or movie about me. I don't need to figure out the mystery or just watch it play out until it gives me the answer. Life is always going to be fluid and things can go better or worse at the drop of a hat. I have had major epiphanies about my life just sitting around and thinking and I've had them when hiding from the police. You're going to have the same moments and a lot more.

So to answer your question, I'll let you know in RealPic July 2050.

Yeah, armor is always impressive, and it's doable with a lot of time and patience. There are also plenty of good male costumes that are sewing-centric, if you're cool with that. If you're really interested in armor you should look up a bunch of the tutorials for different techniques. Personally I've only done limited armor using things like wonderflex or foam covered in apoxie sculpt. My sister is even making a Kerrigan out of EVA foam right now. There's tons of ways of doing it.

I might have seen the first.

For a while I was really interested in Tira cosplayers, you see.

Haha. I've actually been a bit interested in her default from V. DAT HAIR!

Actually trying to pick out some cosplay ideas for next year if possible. Thought I might do half fighting game and half anime characters since AX is usually a 4 day thing.

It feels like forever since I've done an anime character. Almost all of the ones I have planned for right now are from art books or are DC and Marvel characters.

Well I still actively watch so I see some characters I want to be from time to time.

Tentively have Makise Kurisu, Sakura (Street Fight), Taokaka (Blazblue), and maybe Akemi Homura in mind. Might try to do Richter Belmont if I can find someone who can make a decent costume for me.

Pre-zerg or post-zerg?

Taokaka would be awesome for cosplay.

Woke up to a woman over my bed once, used to constantly have dishes flying around the kitchen but that became normal after a while. Other than that just the random knocking and banging. Oddly enough it just all stopped after some time. Me and my sister still own the house though I am not living there currently.

edit: lucked out compared to a good friend of mine who's family had to completely move from a house that was apparently hell to live in.

I have never experienced anything like this, but you seem a believable character la1n.

I really want to believe there something greater in this world. As I said before, I have experienced things like precognitive dreams, but while it seemed vivid enough, it is not concrete proof that there is something more. I'd like to believe it is how it seemed though.

Pre.

Yeah, I haven't really watched much anime in the last several years. I've been meaning to get back into it but time has not been on my side. Still read a lot of manga, though.

Wish her luck! I hope you'll give us pics of the finished product. Kerrigan cosplay will be awesome.

I've gotten into the bad habit of playing games while I watch TV. I'm watching through Stargate and DBZ at the moment while playing some SNES and DS JRPGs. Fun way to pass the time...but it makes it hard to go to an anime with subtitles since I can't do both at the same time.

Thanks for the advice! A lot of people suggested using some kind of fiberglass over a mold, but that seemed like too much work...

Backgrounder: I tried to make an Iron Man costume earlier this year. I had all the electronics to make the chestpiece and other cool stuff, but the actual costume was hard.

You could have just gone as regular Tony Stark

She has a big thing for the ghost armor. I think her next 3 costumes or so are all armor-centric.

I don't care much for fiberglass but that might just be because I haven't got the hang of it yet. If you're willing to make molds and the pieces aren't gigantic you can make the armor out of vacuformed plastic. My sis and I have been planning on making a vacuform for ourselves.

I don't know is the short answer. I'm not exactly sure what you're asking. You seem to be asking: when did you figure out you are this kind of person, or that kind of person.

Life events are hard to pin down, unless it's a specific thing, like facing cancer, which makes you take a good long hard look at yourself. Or maybe even severe depression, where you are faced with your own mortality. And whilst I've known people who have gone through both, or are currently going through either, I, myself have only this secondary experience. And I say that having lived through a very minor car crash.

Personally, I think it's evolutionary. I don't think the modern way is to settle into something for life - i.e it used to be that, once you are a shoemaker, you were always a shoemaker. We change jobs, relationships, houses, etc. so much more often these days.

The smarter I get, the more foolish I realise I am. Age, experience has a way of stripping out my vanities as it were.

Being good, i am realising is slowly creeping up the list; whilst at 20 having lots of sex, or sexual experimentation was nearer the top the list, it is falling slightly away. Been there, done that, got the post card.

I guess I'm asking when you knew things like, your strengths and weaknesses completely. What you like and don't like. How your personality really is. Who you are as a person, it's like if somebody asks who is Ashes1396, what would you respond?

I approve.

Also, joining GirlGlassesGAF for a day.

GlassesGAF grows stronger!

Ignore the derp face.

Morning everyone.

Whooa awesome! You make those right? How long do you think on average takes to make a costume that is semi elaborate? Also that's you in your avatar right? What character are you cosplaying as, it looks familiar but I can't seem to remember.

Yeah, manga is more digestable in short bursts so I understand.

I saw someone do that at the last con I went to. It was pretty much plain clothes with a light glowing through his shirt. o:

Don't worry, bday party will be the next day. Anticipating the massive hangover now. -_-

Those costumes took a month or so, but most of the work was done in the last two weeks.

The one in my avatar is from an art book by an artist named Sakizou.

I posted it before but here's the costume:

Where do you think you are right now!

This is true, but I don't know sometimes people put like models and stuff. So I ask before I creep to avoid confusion.

I might have seen the first.

I see Anti-monitor got that party started already.

@Kitsune: Ah I see, I can't say I know it then. I kept thinking it was C2 with like the macarena hat of fruits or something hahahaha.
