Shy people are amazing! I love my guy cause he was so shy and somewhat socially awkward, I had to ask him out cause he wouldn't. XD But we ended up asking each other out, had to take an initiative though. I'm not really shy or socially awkward but I am somewhat aloof, takes me a while to warm up to people and open up. I do have a problem trusting most people. Never had any problem with dating, though, possibly because guys where I live don't have unbelievably high standards I guess. :p

Here's a clip of me from a recent social gathering I attended.

:lol which one is you? The one getting scared and running away or the scaring the others?

Heh, I do have a few male friends that always whine because they don't have a gf. I tell them that you need to put some effort in too, make friends and put yourself out there for a girl to like you enough to ask you out. Don't just sit on your arse and expect a girl to fall on your lap out of nowhere! :p

I just realized that I might have been a bit of a (unintentionally, of course) heartbreaker as a young boy.
This one girl snuck up behind me to kiss me at the end of a school play (I was playing the "hero" and she the maiden to be saved) but I kinda ended up ignoring her, this other girl would always send people with notes asking if I'd like to be her boyfriend which I would end up thanking no to because I was too young to see the appeal in being a boyfriend, one girl would always try to walk home with me after schools and I would just abruptly say good bye to her as we had to part ways.

So yeah, it's probably not that uncommon for cute girls to be rejected :x

4. The WiiU is cooler than I thought it would be
I am really warming up to the WiiU, but it's released around a really hectic time so I will try to resist it.

That's not really rejection, though, is it? besides it sounds like you were pretty young. But I agree, just because you're a girl (cute or not) doesn't mean a guy would always say yes. I have never been rejected myself, but I don't ask guys out unless I know they like me too.

A lot of people assume I am shy when I don't talk to them, when the reality is I just don't want to talk to them.

I always try to engage in actual conversation but 4/5 times I go out or meet new people, it devolves into complaints about so and so or an absurd string of wrong things.

Plus I am hopelessly out of touch with current pop culture, no idea what TV shows are popular or who's playing on the radio, that sort of thing. If I had a nickel for every time a pop culture reference went over my head I'd be a very rich man indeed.

I wish more women were like this.

Well, i'm not socially awkward, but no one finds me attractive. Life has a way of balancing things out!

Only people who are into me are girls way younger than me or really old dudes, and I'm not gay.

RPGAF reminding how terrible my love life is on my birthday. D:>

This weekend I'll try to change all that!

Yeah, when you're that young I assume you don't even feel rejected anyway.
I wizened up later on, and now just try to let people down as gently as possible if they outright hit on me - which fortunately doesn't happen too often.

I'm also like this.
I mostly do the nod and hum routine, or else it'd look like I'm hopelessly out of touch (which I am).

Oh man, i wish i was like this, unfortunately people seem to see me as a therapist. If i charged what they did, i wouldn't have to worry about how expensive college textbooks are. I've had people come up to me and start talking about their autistic daughter and why that stresses them out. Or the problems they're having with their parents.....or the abuse they suffered as a child.

I Don't know you i don't need to know this!

That used to happen to me often when I was in high school. Now not so much.

It's funny to me how by participating in this thread you can receive dating advice, recipes and pictures of food, pointers on which games to prioritize in your backlog, porn recommendations, thoughts on upcoming Nintendo hardware, dramatic vocal reimaginings of softcore romance novels, philosophical analyses of the afterlife, and more, just by refreshing the page. And from such devilishly attractive sources, too.

There's money to be made, is what you're saying.
