Throw away some old junk and show it to us

Every one of you must have a bunch of crap you'll never need lying around. Things you think you might need someday but deep down you know you'll never use them. You might feel better with less junk, so clean up and take a picture of everything you're throwing out. Don't throw everything in the trash though, it's much better to bring everything that's not broken to a thrift store. Sell anything that's worth selling.

I'm going to to clean up now. I might take a picture if I'm not too embarrassed about the junk I have lying around.

This might make for an interesting thread.

I'm a horder in denial, I keep a bunch of shit around under the guise of 'hey this will be funny to look at in 20 years.' Stacks of Lego magazines, Nintendo Powers, and other crap from when I was a kid that I know I should probably throw out. And other random broken junk like a couple of typewriters (but those are cool).

Moving back to school in September though, I'll probably do a good cleanup sometime this month.

I keep a lot of old stuff, but only because I know it's just a matter of time until terrorists take over my home and I'm locked up with MacGyver or the A Team. Then all these old computer cases, hard drives, busted peltier elements, and random auto parts will come in handy.

You could make some good money off some of that stuff.

I like to think less is more. Anything I wouldn't miss/replace if it was lost in a fire or stolen goes out. Another way of looking at it is asking yourself about an object: if I didn't have this and I'd see it in a store, would I buy it? Could be clothes you never wear, books you'll never read or whatever.

My wife and I have a small box of old PC cables and stuff. We also have like a 3rd edition A+ cert book and a four or five-level bookshelf full of equally old technical books. I need to toss it all.

Nostalgia is a fickle thing. But yes, less is more is certainly true, and this is slowly becoming more apparent to me as I'm going to be in the market for an apartment next year. I imagine I'll do an enormous downsizing then.

I am addicted to throwing things away. A clean and tidy house is godly. Absolutely the only way to live if you ask me. You feel so light and happy when you have that perfection.
