Regarding the whole Pony thing, I'll say this. I don't watch the show nor do I think....badly of the people who are really into it. However I find the whole thing fascinating. Especially that it's gotten as big as this to appear on mainstream shows like these.

I've never watched a minute of the show, but I love reading about the Brony subculture. It's just unique to me, because it's just a weird show to have the fanbase that it does. I mean, Sonic, Pokemon, and Kingdom Hearts having crazy fanbases make sense to me...the first one is a classic platformer that everyone has played, the second is a world-wide phenomenon and one of the best-selling franchises of all time, and the third combines the Disney and Final Fantasy crosslay, so no surprise it brings baggage with it. But FIM is a rather basic recent show on a non-standard channel, and everyone who is into it don't seem to actually have any nostalgia for the old MLP...it's a completely new, self-substaining fanbase that popped up so fast.

Cartoon Network's actual shows they make such as Flapjack, Adventure Time, Gumball, and Regular Show are far more ambitious and unique than the flash animation you see from MLP. But that's because MLP is a merchandise-based franchise that has a low budget and is made to sell toys...with a bit of integrity thanks to Faust being on board.

I wouldn't tout myself as some kind of Animation Expert, but while MLP does use Flash just like the Teletoon shows you mentioned, it doesn't have that stiff jerkiness Flash is so well known for in those other shows. To me it looks a lot closer to hand drawn.
