Improved mud effects,sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
I can't wait to see the new demo with 16 vechicles (or 20?) and all this mud :D
 
Does anyone know why they're showing the game from these weird views? We've seen it in motion. I'd like to see new screens from a traditional gameplay perspective.

It's a racing game, they're almost always showed from a cinematic perpsective now.
 
the lighting looks awesome, but something about those textures just looks really bad. like they're extremely low res or sumfin. it also looks like it's lacking AF, and FSAA. but the lack of AF is particularly prevelant.

overall it looks good though and i am anxious to get to try this out. my hope and prayer is that it controls like the old Moto Racer game (the most fun controlling racing game ever!).
 
if this shit is july 29th, I cannot wait to see what it will look like on november 17th.
especially the way the other launch titles are progressing.

hmm... maybe, they were set to be shown at Sony's "massiveattack" meeting that was cancelled in favor of Sony shooting their wad at TGS? :lol

I think it's more useful to try judge these things in motion given the post-processing they're doing. That may even have changed here, it seems subtler, but it's still there, and lends a strange look in screenshots, or parts of them.

(For example, I think there's definitely AF there (at least on some surfaces). The textures in the background of the first pic would be a complete mess if there was not.)

Has there been any other racing rally game where there have been so many different types of vehicles? That's the part that excites me the most. Bike v. buggy v. Mac Truck.

yeah! and the tracks are designed to accomodate all the different vehicle types. if they pull that off, the game will be awesome.

not to mention 16 player online!

I agree here. We've all seen videos + animated gifs. MS looks great in motion and to make PS2/psp type comments in the light of that = trolling

20 vehicles in single player and 16 in multplayer.
Warhawk supports 32 player online
Resistance is 40

Very much agreed.

I dont even think the screens are that bad... I'll shut up and let the screenshot kids have their fun with them though. ;)
