I still think the Earpods were the megaton from Apples events

I just use Skullcandy ear buds, thats what ive been using for years.

even the cheap ones are pretty damn good.

The name is a little misleading. I thought that it would be an iPod built into the headphones.

Edit: though I guess iPhones would have been a confusing name as well :/

Everyone always praises Shure, but I really don't like my Shure SCL4s. Maybe that is why they were so cheap (on "sale")

I used Shure for the last few years but the wire kept failing me.. finally got tired of sending them back and went for a pair of cheaper Vsonic GR07 and very happy.

Finally a company finds out that you are supposed to direct sound INTO the ear. Why didn't anyone else think of that? Of course Apple would figure this out before any other company. How truly Audiotionary. Those three years of R&D were worth it. And that name!

yea, it's terrible

Aren't their plenty of "earpods" already out there? Or is this post sarcastic?

edit: I suck, it was sarcastic.

I ordered a pair. For earbuds, I've always liked the idea of in-ear for keeping things in place, but the way that they seal over the ear canal drives me batty. When I'm seeking out true audio quality over everything, I put on some over-ear headphones. For portability, I've always used what came packed with my mp3 player. Recently washed my current earbuds, so I need something new anyway.

Hopefully, these will offer a compromise between too easily falling out and the negative (to me) aspects of in-ear headphones.

Well I do have it to give Apple props for at least trying to make a pair of decent earbuds.

Let's be honest though, they will still be crap compared to the competition.

And I can't leave this thread without mentioning my Yuin PK3 earbuds. They are so good, and such a good value, that I can't help but recommend them at every chance.

I dunno man. No ones even heard the things yet. Who knows, maybe they actually sound *gasp* decent. A lot of time allegedly went into them after all

From the Apple page - "The audio quality is so superior, they rival high-end headphones that cost hundreds of dollars more." pretty big talk, I don't think the audio quality would be garbage if they're willing to make that claim

do you have a hole in your ear? if so hold the earphone, move your hand towards your ear until you feel it entering your ear. then remove your hand

oh man thanks for clearing that up..... so relieved.

I mean, whats the hair dryer end for? looks like there is 2 noise holes on each one.

I'm not saying they're shitty, I just can't picture it being comfortable.

They are probably talking about Bose.

I'm confused by this thread. I hate, hate, HATE any earphones Apple has offered, but why are you so against them attempting to improve their standard issue? They're not marketing these like their shitty earbuds by not bundling them with existing products. So who gives a shit? If you don't like the upgraded standard issue, buy a set of Klipsche earbuds like any other person and fucking call it a day.

These aren't anything revolutionary, but if it means I don't have to hear everyone's fucking shitty music on the train anymore then that's pretty exciting

I think they could very much sound better, but somehow I highly doubt they're going to impede sound leakage at all.

I really hope these new Apple earbuds are awesome because if they are as good as Apple says they are, it will create a large and immediate incentive for all competing earbud manufacturers to create better earbuds to compete with the new pack ins that come in some of the best selling products in the world.

If these new Apple earbuds are actually the quality of today's $100+ earbuds, then all other earbuds will have to work hard to justify their products by either improving quality further or lowering the prices of their products. Hopefully a mixture of both.

Not everyone wants Apple earbuds, but everyone wants better earbuds for less cash.

Apple earbuds, or any earbuds made of rigid plastic, never comfortably fit in my ear.

Soft heads for life. I can fall asleep with these things in my ears.

I wish I could use IEMs, but is not worth dealing with the earwax every time I put them in. I had to sell my Shure's because I couldn't stand it anymore (and yes they do use some cheap-ass material at least on my E4c).
