I think the best argument -- in response to the specific quote you posted -- is that the "PS3/360 fans" who did not buy Bayonetta are likely not the "PS3/360 fans" who are in this thread.

By and large, at least. I'm sure there are a few crazy people, as there always are. He's essentially making a false logical conclusion: because most PS3/360 fans did not buy Bayonetta, therefore the specific fans in this thread also did not buy Bayonetta. That is not likely to be the case. While the game did indeed do poorly on the Ps3/360, some people did buy it, and those people are likely to be disproportionately represented in this thread.

I bought the original Bayonetta for the Xbox 360. Honestly, I don't give a fig about system wars. I'm mostly annoyed that I'll have to buy a system I didn't intend to buy if I want to play the sequel. But it seems like some people took it a bit farther than that.

These guys?

Yo fuck these things.

Gracious and Glorious aren't that bad.

If you are totally dependent on Witch Time, they can be a pain. By the time you're equipping things that don't use witch time, it is hilarious to watch them willingly walk in to magic exploding bombs you leave in their faces.

See, I was a total noob when I played, and just used kicks and guns attacks most of the time cause that looked coolest. lol I'm sure if I replayed it, I'd be doing stuff like this.

Plan of attack is take out the blue one and then mess up the other one with the claws it drops. o:

I did eventually figure this out though.

Page one hundred. In just 25 hours from the announcement. Holy fucking fuck, I'd never imagined something like this could happen :lol

I actually love fighting these guys.Fighting them made me really appreciate the dodge mechanic, and once i figured out you could continue your combos after you dodge i would dominate them. And picking up Gracious claws made fighting respawns very easy.

Everytime i see the words "hardcore" or "extreme" i want to throw up. I dont know how but for some reason those words became associated with what is probably the weakest generation of humans produced in the last 60 years. A novel could be written on the hilarity of the rise of the use of the word "hardcore" to describe the actions/traits of people. Tattoos are hardcore i guess. Basically a drawing you didnt do, stick it on yourself, you are hardcore now. Sit in a chair and play with what is essentially an elaborate toy (video games) for years, now you are "hardcore". Human beings have a funny way of thinking that whatever they are doing right now, in this time, this moment, is bigger and more important than what has come before. The "hardcore" generation hasnt done a damn thing impressively except make a massive stink out of nothing. I cross my fingers that creativity, talent, patience, intelligence, and balance of mind someday replace blind boastful mock-aggression cliches. But i highly doubt that will ever happen. Water doesnt flow up hills.

I feel bad for people who wish they got a sequel and are not planning on buying a Wii U. I suggest they wait and give the console a chance after some time has passed. I dont understand the Wii/Nintendo hatred. I played a bunch of games on there that were absolutely stellar. One would think that a "gamer", a true fan of "games", would embrace any source of quality video games they could. Blind brand loyalty is for peasants. Embarrassing that it even exists in 2012 when humans are allegedly hardcore beings. Maybe people need to start getting hardcore about using their brain.

I don't even see a Bayonetta 2 on a Ps3/360 even selling all that well had Sega advertised it. The game would have come out in 2013/2014, looking at Darksiders 2, the health of current gen gaming is deterioating fast, I mean that game had more advertising than Bayonetta 2 could have hope to have under Sega and most other companies and it still bombed quite badly.

The game would been risky either way I'm just happy it's actually being made.

Grace and Glory/Gracious and Glorious force you to become a better action game player. I had coasted through Ninja Gaiden 1&2, most of the Devil May Cry series, and all of God of War with only mediocre action chops. Bayonetta doesn't allow that. You can't win without developing skills. It's impossible.

Not really, no. But if thinking that makes you feel better go ahead.

I just feel sorry for you.

It's sad when a person who feels the need to go into a thread about a videogame that was very well reviewed by critics and very well received by fans of the genre, and announce how shocked they are because actually all those people were wrong and it was just mediocre.

Meh you could still get through them with a fairly easy manner. I mained Jeane in hard and climax, so it's technically harder, but first time I got through abusing manual few second witch time and pkp. Obviously as I got better I could fight them regularily but you could get through with a bad rank.

Was there this much fanboy rage when Monster Hunter got put on 3DS instead of Vita?

The best betrayalton backlash was still Final Fantasy XIII on 360. Have yet to see that topped.

Man I must have sank so much time into Bayonetta, such good times. It's rare to have a game such content filled. Did all the challenges got most things at climax on a decent rank, still haven't finish th gauntlet thing and defeat the weapons dealer dude.

All this talk about fighting grace and glory got me in the mood to try and beat infinite climax mode.

All this talk of Bayonetta 2 has me in the mood to replay the first game, but I only have PS3 now. I spoiled myself with the 360 version back in 2010. :(

The Monster Hunter betrayalton was Tri going to Wii after having been announced for PS3. At that point, there were some raised eyebrows so 3G going to 3DS wasn't completely unexpected.

The big freakout with MonHun on 3DS was that both 3G and 4 were announced for 3DS at the same event. In many people's eyes, that sealed the deal, and Vita's fate.

The game was niche and sold little therefore the great fuss this announcement has made is surprising to me. I don't know exactly why you feel threads should be devoid of everything beyond uncritical fanboy splooging.

This idea that only positive opinions may be voiced is ridiculous. You get to say how much you love Bayonetta and I get to say that I thought the game was mediocre. Thats how it should work.

There was more denial when MH4 wound up on 3DS, people kept insisting that there would be a Vita version so it wouldn't matter anyway. Over time they just forgot about it.

The game was niche and sold little

Which has nothing to do with it being "mediocre" or not.
