I also really like the Crimson Empire books about a former Imperial Royal Guard. The great thing about the Star Wars comics is they are all pretty easy to obtain in nice-sized very reasonably priced "omnibuses".

I was just looking at Amazon and was surprised at how cool the omnibuses look!

Liefeldamos' twitter was right:

"In January 2013, DC Comics will end four titles, with Frankenstein: Agent of S.H.A.D.E., Blue Beetle, Grifter, and Legion Lost all bearing the dreaded "Final Issue" notice in solicitations, released throughout the day Monday."

Frank better kicks some serious sci-fi/horror butt in JL Dark.

I want them to announce new books already. Need my Cyborg book.

Why come Anakin can get life-like replacements but Maul has to have Grievous-legs?

The Empire was notoriously racist.

Marvel had pony warriors since the 80s I think...when's the last time I read Power Pack? Maybe it was the 90s. Prince Lightstar or something. They used to hang out with the Guardians of the Galaxy back when they were cool. Major Victory, along with strong brick shaped dude, hot babe girl, Lancer 2nd in Command, and Colonel Bastard aka Starhawk.

What the fuck, Frankenstein is getting shitcanned?! Next to the rest of that boiled ass, Frankenstein going along with them?? It doesn't deserve that shame.

RESOLICIT THIS ALREADY DC, YOU HAVE GOOFED!

Absolute Blackest Night: FCBD #0, BN #1-8, Untold tales #1, DC Universe #0

But will i buy it? This story without the Green Lantern issues is about as bad as Absolute Batman and Robin without Return of Bruce Wayne mini, though at least in that case it's already collecting 17 issues but this one is NOT. Bad collection is bad. And $99 too. Boo. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Aw damn not Legion Lost :(

It's the only Legion book I've ever been able to follow for more then a couple issues. The main book is just way to convoluted.

I'm amazed Blue Beetle and Legion Lost held on as long as they did. I wasn't impressed with them, but I guess others found something to latch on to.

BATWOMAN #16
Written by J.H. WILLIAMS III and W. HADEN BLACKMAN

On sale JANUARY 23 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • RATED T+
Retailers: This issue will ship with two covers. The variant cover will feature the standard edition cover in a wraparound format.
• This issue guest-stars everybody!
• In this penultimate chapter, everything that’s been happening in BATWOMAN comes to a head!
• Plus, a new hero is introduced, and Wonder Woman fights monsters!

Is Batwoman going to be cancelled in February as well?! Please say it isn't so! I'm concerned though as "penultimate" sounds rather foreboding.

EDIT: Nevermind. I see now "penultimate" was also used to describe the end of the "Drown the World" arc. Looks like it's not going to be cancelled. Phew! Sorry guys, I was a little anxious with all the final issues and oncoming next wave.

probably just relates to the story arc and not the book overall, though it has been said that JH Williams 3 is no longer going to on the art for Batwoman going foward.

After comic con does anyone think that superior spiderman is
Spiderman 2099
I really hope its true. But i know it probably won't be.

I got super excited when I saw that listed, and then super disappointed when I read the details. If any story needs a complete collection with all the tie ins and in the proper order it's Blackest Night.

Don't do that man. Nearly gave me a damned heart attack.

I read some panel description of a Death of the Family bit at NYCC and Moz was there and they got to him and he's like "Batman Inc won't be in this crossover, but there will be death! And family!"

Oh, dc, lolz.

Man, that Morrison's Batman story is just never gonna end, huh? I remember this entire year was gonna be Batman Inc #1-12; I think we'll still waiting on #7.

So many crossovers..... :( I don't even know what the Third Army is, or Death in the Family. Both try to be where you don't need to read every title yet at the same time trying to make you doubt that. Rotworld Red part one, Rotworld Green Part one, i see that on my Animal Man and Swamp Thing #13s. I thought Rotworld itself was going to continue from each book? Third Army doesn't but the "last" issue is a $5 GLC Annual for the conclusion? Death in the Family is........just a theme alongside each book but not a continuing story with a chapter in each book...

DC cancel's Legion Lost but keeps lower selling garbage like I, Vampire and Savage Hawkman. Makes sense.

/rage.

For us Legion fans it's been fun seeing some core members in interesting storylines. The Legion fanbase is small, but loyal. DC just needs to get the fuck over Legion sales numbers and accept that they'll ALWAYS fucking have 17-20k of us buying it. Legion will never pull Batman numbers. But it's fucking consistent. Why can't they understand that?

For DC's New 52 initiative supposedly being a good jumping on point for new readers, they've since really gone out of their way to make it as impenetrable as possible with all the shitty, pointless crossovers. Makes it really hard to cherry pick which titles you want to read. And I feel super bad for people who are into binding. You'd have to buy multiple issues of certain books just to have crossover issues in both collections...

Do you even read I Vampire? That book is fucking amazing. Every issue so far has been amazing. It doesn't get the sales it deserves.

I have. I don't like it. But I'm in the genre for Superheroes. Not Vampires. I find Vampire Jubilee to be equally stupid, as an example. If you like it, great. I respect that and your opinion on it. But it makes no sense that titles like it, Savage Hawkman, and DC Presents are continuing when they sell lower.

Oh, and it's also cute how they told me in the last issue of Voodoo to get Grifter for more Voodoo. Then cancel Grifter.

Sales are sales but I'm sure a lot of it has to do with them wanting to keep their portfolio broad. If they wanted just the best selling books we would get 52 Batman books a month and you would never read another Legion book again. They're trimming fat where they can and at the very least these cancelled books got ran in the first place... Isn't it better to have loved and lost, etc...

And regardless of sales, every book out there is someone's favorite book so crying for other books to get cancelled instead of one that you were personally invested in makes you sound like an entitled crybaby.

Sure. You'd have a point if, up until now, with the one exception of JLI, every title hadn't been the lowest selling ones. Now, suddenly, they are using some metric that isn't obvious or apparent. Obviously books are going to get canceled at some point. But it'd be nice to know that there was a rhyme or reason behind it, besides, "Why the fuck not?" I point again to the fact that in the last issue of Voodoo, they say to pick up Grifter for more Voodoo. Then cancel Grifter. Now I'm sitting on an issue of Grifter I don't want and no desire to buy any more of it. That kind of bait and switch is annoying.

Read Uncanny Avengers last night. Disappointed by it. Probably isn't helped by the fact that I just hate Scarlet Witch and she had the best line in the book.

I seem to recall that Paul Pelletier (Incredible Hulk, GotG) is the new artist on Aquaman. Which sucks because he was one of Marvel's underrated gems, but somehow I don't see that situation improving at DC either.

I've never read anything with Paul Pelletier's art, but I peeped his work, and I like what I see. I think Aquaman will be fine.

Not as hunky as Reis's Aquaman. How come it looks like his torso was cleaved in half with a battle axe?

I'm only nitpicking because I'm sad. Seriously, Justice League isn't WORTH Reis. :(

huh? American Vampire is probably better than every cape book out right now with the exception of Uncanny X-Force.

Funny how options work.

I love AmVamp too, but maybe he doesn't like vampires?

And I'd say Journey Into Mystery and Batman are regularly better than AmVamp.

To be fair, I think he's just saying he reads superhero comics for superheroes. I don't think he was intending to trash vampires altogether.

Of course, there are more than a few solid comics published under the main DC and Marvel banners that aren't best described as being superhero comics, so that part of the point is still problematic.
