This is it. Apparently the GotG will have a rotating member of the Avengers from now on. So first is Ironman, next is who knows?
Also, Captain Marvel has the potential to be really fun. I just hope they get to get there.

I'm really proud of Marvel for making an infinite dollars on the fucking Avengers movie but get them the hell out of all of my comics. Do they really think an Avenger being in every comic is going to increase its sales?

It's Dacosta. And of course he was awesome in the OG series and when he was a great X-Forcer. I'm talking about the newest series, where, in 40-something issues, all he's done is casually flirt with Magma and be slightly jealous over her boyfriend. He rarely even makes it onto promo art.

I recently picked up the Scarlet Spider trade and to my surprise it takes place in Houston!!! And Stegman is the artist. It's good to know the future of Spider-Man is in this guys hands.

Just wanted to pop in and rave about how fucking great Animal Man and Swamp Thing are.
Scarlet Spider is a seriously fun book. Gonna miss Stegman on it but Spidey is WAY better off for him being on it instead.
Like it or not, the avengers have insane star power right now. Marvel wants books like guardians of the galaxy to do well. Casuals see Ironman on the cover. Casuals couldn't care ANY less about any of the other guys, but they fucking love Ironman so hey it's worth trying. Maybe casual type B prefers say, Captain America more than Ironman so lets make a few issues with him for those fans. Eventually the book should have enough of a fan base that it will not need to use the star power of the Avengers characters to succeed instead of be among the first to be canceled because lets just be honest, a cult following is not big enough for a book to survive.
Until then though, you guys need to hold that shit in your chest. They aren't doing it for you. They know what you want this is why this book is happening in the first place. They just need to make it worth their while.

IMO, they started out great but the whole Rot saga has dragged on for far too long. I can't wait for it to end.

GodDAMN how good is Hawkeye? Just read the last issue and I am just so in love with Aja's art, the guy is a master. Never really read anything with Hawkeye in it either, I like how this guy is basically like a more grizzled and relaxed Johnny Storm but with arrows.
Really enjoying the light done-in-one tone of the book as well, Marvel is onto something with these light and breezy reboots, they're really hitting a sweetspot. It's actually kind of interesting when you consider how similar (even artistically) this book is with Daredevil. If having great little stories and classy, beautiful art is a new marketing ploy then it's certainly one I can get behind.

They have tons of comics mixed in with the adult fiction (stuff like Brian Wood or Alan Moore non-genre stuff) and sci-fi books (sci-fi/horror/fantasy comics like Transmet and AV).
But I've always wondered where they hid the super hero stuff. They HAD to have some. Juvie fiction had none...
Then I realized they have a hidden room just for teens. It's down a long non-descript hallway.
And I walk in and the entire nine or so shelves in the center of the room are the biggest collection of graphic novels I've ever fucking seen in my life - the biggest comic store I've ever been to didn't have so many trades.
I gotta lot of catching up to do.

Personally i think it's already fun, Dekonnick has a good handle on what makes Carol tick. I know time hijinks isn't really everyone's cup of tea though. Emma Rios art in issue 5 was fantastic such a shame she's only on for one more. I'd say it's the other breakout book for me along with Hawkeye.

Yeah, that's why I like Saga. Fiona Staples has this same kind of simple style but can make it look beautiful. Her main characters are like 6 brush strokes, but still super hot.
