Sorry if its already been discussed in here, but does the show's premiere being pushed back hurt their chances of getting further episodes? I guess how far it gets pushed back probably determines whether there would be time to air an additional 9 episodes or not.
Definitely. It proved that the show has a life of its own, and when October 19th finally gets here, we'll be in for a ride. That promo actually erases some fears that I have about the show. It definitely feels like Community (and yes, I know it's only a short promo, but still). It felt like the show, not some bad spec.

It's already been filmed. (I assume at least the first bunch) They just need to air them when they find a damn spot to put October 19th on the schedule. Yet Tuesday night is getting two new shows that look pretty meh and horrible. They'd rather spend money on new pilots in hopes of finding gold than air a show they know will already have somewhat of an audience.huh.. to me it was the actors basically telling me that the show will be cancelled.

NBC, ladies and gentlemen!
Six seasons and a spinoff starring Annie's Boobs. The monkey. Not Annie's boobs. Or maybe both. It'd be amazing if they just shelved these 13 eps and never released them to the public.

I mean, it will be canceled. that's been my outlook since like, mid-season 2. take every new episode as a damn miracle.huh.. to me it was the actors basically telling me that the show will be cancelled.
agreed for the most part. the one line that I really couldn't get past was jeff admonishing annie and annie responding that she was a sometimes host of the T&A in the morning. was weirdly stilted. at the same time, I could see that being in an actual community episode. so I guess it's fine. That promo actually erases some fears that I have about the show. well, the one distinction is that NBC doesn't own Community. Sony produces it. so Sony'll get the money when it's syndicated. It's in Sony's interest to make the show cheaper to NBC, which they didIIRC the only reason they're going through with this after Harmon's firing is that the amount of episodes is close enough for the show to be qualified for syndication. It'd be in NBC's interest to just get the episode count to at least the required number (I think it's 80? 90? I don't remember) since it'd bring cash for NBC in the long run when they syndicate the show.
Please let me know if any of what I just said makes sense or if it's just a bunch of garbage.

and anyway, I didn't think that was really the message of the promo. all it said to me was that they're uncertain of when they'll air, but they will air. simple as that.

Community is a co-produciton with UniversalTV (NBC's production arm) and Sony TV.

Well the (huge) difference here is that community has an established, publicized, hyper-active and attentive fanbase. Something none of the shows you listed hadLast two episodes of undercovers were never aired....
NBC just cancelled a sitcom due to air in january.....which will probably never air....
NBC created an amazing television show called Day One, then condensed it to 4 episode miniseries, then condensed it to a movie.....
And then never aired it.
Be careful.

Just pulled a Britta. Double post.
The Britta in that promo seemed to be the pre-Britta'd Britta

Yeah, I really did like the promo. Like a lot. It was reminiscent of Season 2 where things were wacky but not too crazy and filled with caricatures of their former selves. If the rest of the season is like that, I will love it. But...I know it isn't seeing how outrageous the very first episode is.![]()
what do we know about the very first episode? or has that been shown at comic con or something?

People close to the situation say that Chase had been increasingly frustrated and uncomfortable with the direction of his character, Pierce, who is a bigot. After getting fed more lines he found offensive during a scene yesterday, I hear he snapped and launched the tirade, airing his frustration and suggesting that the way things with Pierce are going, he may next be asked to call Troy (Glover) or Shirley (Brown) the N-Word.
He was mad because his character was coming off as TOO racist. So it was an anti-racist rant, lol. But yeah he should just shut up and fucking do his job.
what? I think he should just shut up and do his job. I don't understand what you're getting at here.Uhh...

Ok but he is an actor. Pierce has always been a racist character. It's a comedy show. Also Chevy has a history of raging and being a dick on set. Just do it bro.
Pierce was supposed to have become a better person by the end of season 3, and if they really are having him use that word, then Chevy has every right to be mad.
Then don't hire Chevy. Bigoted character or not, you are going to have limits.
pierce isn't using the word.Pierce was supposed to have become a better person by the end of season 3, and if they really are having him use that word, then Chevy has every right to be mad.
exactlyThey're not having him use that word. He was overreacting to one of his storylines.
Oh damn I read the story wrong, didn't realize the website was just jumping to conclusions. Still, we don't know the whole story. They could be taking his character too far once again and ignoring prior character developments, or Chevy is being a dick again.
It's the latter. But like most things, it's an overreaction of actors being actors.
Yeah, that's one possibility among others.
