I take back my bit on Cable...yeah I blame Cable. Had he never said anything, Scott wouldn't have been so opposed to working with the Avengers, which by extension means training with IF and Wanda, which means Tony didn't have to build whatever that thing was, which means all of this could have been avoided.

Wakanda wouldn't want to kill all mutants on sight (Thanks Namor!...)

Time for the what if with multiple outcomes like with civil war, where we find out that if they had worked together things would have worked out.

They should release what if scenarios.

-What If: Avengers Never Interfered.
-What If: Avengers Took Hope (Though I don't think you can "hide" a host from Phoenix, and funny enough at the end of it all she decides to spend her last moments of mutant life with Cap and Wanda of all people, she didn't even go say bye to everyone at Jean Grey School)
-What If: Cable Didn't Say Shit (best comic title EVER)

CYCLOPS.
WAS.
RIGHT.

ABOUT WHAT?

What was he right about? Angelus Errare has already made the point that Hope could NOT restore the mutants on her own, so Cyke's ENTIRE POINT was wrong! Without Wanda, Hope couldn't do it, and Cyke did NOT have Wanda in his plans.

Dude, the funny thing about all of this is exactly that: you've been on the defensive the entire time here. You lash out because I talk about Jean, but never seem to realize that "your beloved" can be applied to you and Cyke just as well. More to the point, though nobody has said what Cyke was right about, and that is what I am getting at here. Was he right about Hope restoring the mutants? No, because if it hadn't been for a series of things which he hadn't planned, it never would've worked out.

So what in Stan Lee's name was Scott right about?

this discussion is going nowhere and I have got better things to do. What he was right about was pinning all his faith in Hope from the moment she was born and trusting his son Cable. What you don't seem to get is that for a much touted balanced event one side bears the the brunt of negative outfall when both sides were at fault. Anyway I am done with it. Feel free to expound on the virtues of Jean the Angel all you want.

Hahaha, whoa dude, WHOA. There's no need for you to be so personally upset over a heated debate about comics online. I'm sorry if I personally offended you, Nesotenso. I didn't mean to ruin the fun here for you, and I know how it feels when someone does that. You made the topic interesting and debated honorably. I have no hard feelings toward you at all. Can't we all just get along?

Yeah, I realize this is all stupid and dragging this thread down. I don't feel offended and I don't over comic book opinions. Everyone is entitled to their own interpretations.

Anyway hope the thread becomes better for others not engaged in pointless back and forth

Check out Mark Waid's Dardevil run...and his F4 run too, both are great. His DD run didn't feature any AvX cross-over or such in it either.

i'm a little burnt on dd and f4 after bendis and hickman but i'll put waids runs on the list when i want to revisit the characters.

Brubaker and Winter Soldier. Under rated. Definitely check it out.
Pak and van Lente's incredible Herc run.

thanks, i'm on it. winter soldier in particular, i love brubaker.

Damn, I definitely need to get on Uncanny X-Force if its comparable to those other runs.

i don't like to judge things before they're done but we're 3 issues from the end and UXF is better than most of the comics i've ever read. if i were you i'd try to catch up before ppl blow up this thread with talk about the finale.

As long as you're not mad, bro. I don't want to be the guy who makes you have a bad day.

So I just read first issues for Batman, Batman and Robin, Nightwing and Batman Beyond. Right now, it's looking like I'll continue Batman and Nightwing. The other 2 didn't really draw me in. I wish Red Robin had his own series.

You gotta keep readin Batman Beyond, man! It's so good. The Hush arc is whatever, but Industrial Revolution was so good.

Skottie Young rocks!

I think the character that is being written terrible recently is Captain America, It's like how they were writing Iron Man during Civil War.

I feel it's like Cap is putting blinders. His reaction to the whole AvX thing is that he'll create a team composed of both Avengers and X-Men? Well, that should solve everything.

I did like Scott's comment in Consequences #2 regarding Cap.
That he won't allow Cyclops to be 'disappeared', but that's what is set to happen anyway.
The writers post AvX have apparently chosen the path of Cap just cranking his Boy Scout levels higher, a moralistic lalalalalalala.

what are your marvel top-tier, consistent, relatively self contained, completed arcs? i'm going to read planet hulk and punisher max next.

Christopher Priest Black Panther
Milligan X-Force/X-statix
Bendis Alias
Paul Jenkins Inhumans
Hickman Fantastic Four
Waid Fantastic Four
Bendis Daredevil
Dan Slott She-Hulk
Marjorie Liu Black Widow
Joss Whedon Astonishing X-men
Waid Daredevil and Peter David X-factor (still going though)
I like all of Pak Hulk not just Planet Hulk
Incredible Herc but that had events going on through it but they make it work

these cross with things but I love them
Claremont X-men
Casey X-men
Peter David Hulk

I probablyhave more

John Francis Moore and Adam Pollina on X-Force (63-81) is my all time favourite. 82-101 has the same writer, but art by an early Jim Cheung which was okay. It's my second favourite.

Never been collected because Marvel could never handle the racial diversity! 2 black dudes (one american, one brazilian), a native american woman as leader, a native american dude dating a half native american-half hispanic chick and a guest appearance by a vietnamese lesbian.

these all jumped out at me... especially black panther - i want to read more of him. really appreciate it, i'll start diggin through it and give you my thoughts periodically.

I've always been interested in reading The Question. Is there a specific story or run I should start with?

The entire O'Neil / Cowan run is collected in trades.

Start with volume 1.

FAKE EDIT: Okay any more dinosaur fight suggestions? I need seven more to finish this pad, then it's on to pad two. Need to bust out 32 images tomorrow then spend the rest of the week inking.

Anybody watch Grimm? This week's episode had the weeping woman from Batwoman in it. I know it's based on actual Mexican folklore but I'm still trippan balls.

By this point I continue to read red lantern corps out of a sense of loyalty to my favorite corps. This book sucks though. I just hope if I continue to read it will suddenly pick up and be awesome....

Shut your mouth son! Red Lanterns is just a fun book.

It isn't fun though. Most of the time it feels aimless and confused like it has no idea what to do with itself. Which I suppose makes a tiny bit of sense because it seems like Atrocitus is in that same position, but it has not made for a gripping read.

I'm down to just green lantern now. I miss the expanded universe characters but didn't really like the books.

Defenders is ending with a great arc, I think fraction's ff will be similar in quality.

read a bunch of first issues to see what to read next... black panther, planet hulk didn't grab me but dan slott's she hulk is exactly what i'm in the mood for. funny, light hearted, bright... awesome.

So I tried reading Fraction's Iron Man run (borrowed a few trades from a friend), can't say I'm going to finish it. I mean compared to Hickman's FF run (which I just went through) it's just boring.

Every arc in Fraction's Iron Man has about 6 issues more than it should have.

That's exactly what Fraction Iron Man is, a complete bore. Not to mention the bad art with everyone having Sour Patch kids lips.

Fritchman is pretty terrible.

At some point I'll need to Kirkman test his ass, meaning - read Casanova to see if his passion project is better than his work for hire projects.

Sadly the Kirkman test also failed for Kirkman. Invincible is just a shitty Spiderman redux with tones of Savage Dragon. :D

It's just so dull. Plus the art is boring. I have no idea how he had such a long run on this book, I mean there are fun bits here and there but it's so few and far between.
