Being the opportunist that I am, I started the night at a Romney party – because I hoped he would win. But when it became apparent he wouldn’t, I headed over to an Obama party that I knew of, met a sweet young thing who was happy to have turned 18 early enough to vote in this election. I took her home so that I could add to her night of firsts…

I learned long ago – hope for the best, but always take advantage of the situation. So I’ll continue to take advantage of the situation which is this train-wreck.

Over the last 4 years, I’ve moved more and more of my assets overseas – taking advantage of every tax loop-hole this administration created to be sure I paid zero in the US due to “losses” and “expenses” – of course all of my real profits were “elsewhere”… I’ve done quite well, although in the US I’ve been losing money left and right… I will continue this, but now I think I’ll leave the US at some point for good.

It is no longer “my country” since I believe in hard-work, opportunity, and succeeding by your own effort – rather than looting others. But that doesn’t mean I’m not going to take advantage of the stupidity of this administration (Government) – so if I can get guarantees that I can go bank-rupt on to hurry the inevitable destruction along, I will – especially if it is beneficial to me. :) Just like the young lady last night, whom I’ll be seeing this coming weekend to continue enjoying what she can “give me”…

Very creepy

It sounds like a fanfic.

Yeah I don't know what he looks like but I have a feeling the girl was just created for the article. If real why would he post about it where she might read it? You know how people are, they look up people they meet, and check facebook trying to learn about them.

I actually think he did have one. Nothing wrong with being confident.

Nothing wrong with being confident, yes. Not having a contingency plan/back up "oh shit, we lost after all" speech? Stupid.

Here's a little nugget from my own dad:

"4 more years of the most corrupt admistration in American history and we will see how far Obama takes the country backwards and how fast the freedoms we Americans cherish will erode.. He already has shown how he just throws the US constitution into the trash for his own agenda.. Still my main passion is speaking up for the lil ones who cant. Being pro life and a Christian. Kneel and pray America can withstand 4 more years of this Obamanation of a admistration.."

I say if they want to leave let them. The south can go and be its own wacko country, I'm sure after about 3 years of rush and hannity running the country they will come running back.

I only have three more years of school left. Please don't leave me down here with Tom Coburn.

My area is mostly Republicans and to see everybody sobbing today was priceless. I'm all about choice and equality. I believe in helping others. Believe in a future where race is the last thing on everybody's mind. To see these people who I had to dealt with on a regular basis being stuck up individuals who are only friends in need, it's good to shut them up for at least a while.

It's just further proof that maybe he did only have a victory speech prepared last night, which is just crazy.

Not really. Creating such a website is quick and relatively simple. If would be silly to not have it ready to go in the event of his victory. The images and thought of him actually winning are scary, but thankfully that didn't become a reality.

Well before it happens we can have anyone who wants to move to either country go for it. Then we build a giant wall around the red states and let the "free market" do it's thing.

This is her blog: http://nebraskattitude.blogspot.com/

On the right is a donate button with the caption:
"I remember when I could afford food. :\ (Not a joke.)"

You'd think that her interests would be along those same lines as those damn, shiftless, 47-percenters.

I donated to her with the message "Obama voter here. Nobody should have to go without food. I sincerely hope you have luckier times ahead."

On the downside I just realized Paypal gave her my physical address so that coulda been a mistake on my part.

Orson Scott Card: Still a fuckhead

Democracy Did Not Fail

To you newspeople at CBS, CNN, ABC, NBC. To you journalists at The New York Times, The Washington Post, at newspapers all over America.

You did it. You won. You were able to get Barack Obama his second term.

You knew that if you told the American people the truth, they would not have reelected this man.

Americans don't vote to reelect a commander-in-chief who abandons our soldiers and agents and ambassadors when they're under enemy fire.

But you, confident that you are much wiser than the American people, you decided we had no reason to think about this during the election.-

When Romney questioned Barack Obama's statements about Benghazi, you shouted him down. He learned his lesson – if he made an issue of it, you would merely attack him and distract the public from Obama's wrongdoing.

You knew that Obama lied to cover up this culpable negligence, and then lied about lying. You had the video, CBS, which you could have aired immediately after the second debate, exposing him for the liar that he is.

Instead you held it back until two days before the election, when other stories predominated.

And all the rest of you – you gave it minimal mention, you played it down, you treated it as nothing, though you know that if you had caught Romney in such a lie two days before the election, you would have played that footage continuously and condemned his lies in tones of shocked outrage.

Barack Obama is still a liar – you didn't change that, you merely hid it.

Barack Obama is still the selfish, cowardly commander-in-chief who abandons American public servants – you didn't change him, nor did you give him any reason to change.

When Hurricane Sandy devastated a part of America, you showed Barack Obama only in a favorable light.

Even though his administration, his FEMA, did at least as badly as the Bush administration did after Katrina, and with far less excuse, you did not run endless coverage of the people's suffering, the way you did with Bush.

Still, it's possible that we will be able to impeach this lying incompetent president that is getting a second term only because of your cooperation with his lies. It's possible that we can undo the damage you have done.

But far more likely is the other alternative – that, faced with your monolithic groupthink, your insistent flacking for the Beloved Leader, your dishonesty that is equal to his dishonesty, your emulation of Pravda, the Republicans in Congress will give up, Fox News will drop the story, it will all go away, and the Beloved Leader will continue in power.

Then, when his appeasement of our enemies results in a nuclear explosion in Tel Aviv ...

When more and more al Qaeda-style attacks kill more Jews and more Americans around the world ...

When Obama's incompetent and anti-scientific economic policies have the consequences that such policies always have, and the American economy collapses under the weight of debts and entitlements ...

When Obama's crushing policies result in American health care sinking to the low level of service, the endless waiting lists, the needless death and suffering in the name of "fairness" that already afflict Europeans and Canadians ...

When the burden of ever-steeper taxes moves capital and industry and innovation to other countries ...

Will you step forward and take responsibility, and say, "We should have known; in fact we did know, but we did not tell you"?

Next time the Republicans will probably offer one of their usual clowns. But then we'll take him gratefully, because by then we'll be fed up with the consequences of the ideologically-driven, arrogant, dishonest Beloved Leader that you foisted on us.

So yes, CBS, CNN, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, New York Times, Washington Post, and all the rest of you in the Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda: You won.

But we know you now. We know just how low you'll go, how compliant you will be with the Beloved Leader.

Just because brown-shirted thugs aren't beating your opponents in the streets doesn't mean you aren't every bit as much the enemies of democracy as any Nazi or Bolshevik ever was.

Telling us the truth and letting us make informed decisions – that was your job. That's why the press gets special protection in the Constitution. That's why you're called "the fourth estate."

Democracy did not fail us in the presidential election of 2012.

You did.

Very creepy

Thats........ Disturbing......

I don't think I've seen anything quite like what I am seeing in this thread in the UK. Sure we have stupid bastards like everyone else, but they tend to be, you know, stupid and inarticulate with it.

These guys seem to be well educated, completely selfish to the point they cannot accept defeat with the most FUCKED UP views on what is right and wrong I've ever witnessed.

I admit I was fairly bummed out in the days immediately after Bush's victory in 2004, and probably said a few mildly hyperbolic remarks. Fortunately this was before social media really exploded.

But I don't recall myself or anyone I knew reacting on a level anywhere close to this. And this was when I was living in looney liberal San Francisco. It was more a collective feeling of "well, this sucks."

I expected tears, but some of these reactions are just simply complete meltdowns.

the utter disconnect people of his ilk show when it comes to the barebones reality that sits before them is truly astounding. I don't even know how to begin to fix that.

Normally, I don't give a shit about the political leanings of authors or celebrities I like. Adam Baldwin and Craig Nelson are right-wing nuts? Fine by me.

But Orson Scott Card, over the past five years or os, has done everything in his power to make it increasingly impossible to separate his work from his views.

"Endless waiting lists" of Europeans and Canadians!

Lol wtf, there's nothing stopping us from going private if we want to, but most of us don't as there's no need....

They've got NFI how things work in the rest of the world so they just make things up to suit their argument.
