It's a subscription service. Free games, cloud storage, and automatic updates expire with your subscription. If your resubscribe, you regain access to past games obtained during your previous subscription. Discounted games that you pay for are yours indefinitely.

Do the "instant game collection" games remain there forever or are they dropping games every now and then? It would really suck to get invested in a game and then have it removed from the list.

And I am now glad I have PS+.

Holy shit that's awesome. The PS3 games have all been stuff I mostly had, but the Vita, outside of Gravity Rush, will all be new to me!

Whee!

And... you can still download these from the PS3 storefront, right? I might have to start stockpiling these until I get a Vita on the cheap.

:0

I can download them even if I don't have a Vita so when I get one I'll be getting all the games I downloaded in the past?

I was planning on getting a Vita eventually for DJ Max, whenever that comes out, but considering I'm already a Plus subscriber this news makes that acquisition a higher priority. I wonder if there'll be any decent deals on the system for Black Friday.

There's something I've never understood...Are games downloaded for free thanks to PS+ playable after subscription's expiration?

Nope, they are playable as long as you have a subscription.

If your subscription runs out then you can't play those games. If you re-subscribe then you gain access to them again.

Shit. I just remembered I'm not using a Mac mini instead of a Windows PC.

There's no content manager client for OSX yet, right?

_sad panda_ :(

Once you download a game and it's a part of your history, you're free to download it whenever, as long as you have an active PS+ subscription.

If you "purchase" them while they're free they're yours so long as you're a PSPlus member. You're free to delete them and redownload at your whim

I've been wavering so hard on picking up a Vita since it's release. As a PS+ member this makes it almost impossible for me to resist.

If only all of the black friday $200 deals were for the AC combo instead of the CoD combo. Maybe I don't care. Maybe all of the DL games would require a 32gb card which I do care about dropping another $100 on. Where are the BF deals on those?

So very very tempting. Something tells me I'll have a Vita before Christmas.

Nice move Sony. Nice move.

FWIW, I got a 32gb card from Amazon for $75. Not a huge difference, but a difference.

Once you've downloaded a game from the Instant Game Collection, you can redownload it for free anytime even if it's taken off the list.

think of the subscription as the unlock key for all of the ps+ free games. as soon as it expires, your games lock and you can't play them. once you renew your subscription, your ps+ games will be unlocked again. any ps+ game that you download will remain in your history, so you don't have to worry about unsubscribing for a few months and losing any games you had before.

You don't even need to download it. Just check it out.

I have a tonne of stuff on PS3 on my download list from PS+ that I haven't actually downloaded...yet.

He looks like he has Lego hair. Like you can grab it and pop it right off of his head.

The bad thing is, SCEA's offerings will probably go downhill from here, while SCEE's offerings will get better...

But SCEA killed it this time, at least for the start.

Yeah this feels like how the first month of the revamped PS3 PS+ went. A ton of games and then almost nothing for months. But I'll enjoy this while it lasts.

Really? I didn't know that. I thought you 'reset' when you unsubscribed.

That's awesome if it remembers games from a previous sub though. Really, really awesome.

Do you guys know if the saved games of the retail versions will work with the downloaded versions as well?

Don't forget to buy like 5 32GB memory card. check black friday deals for a good deal on it.

They should make a hardware accessory where you can stick in like 8 memory cards at once and it clips on the top, adding two additional shoulder buttons.

99€/$99

I have the Game Cards for Wipeout and Uncharted. Might download them and trade those in. Sweet deal!

Be careful with that. From my experience with the PS3 version of PSPlus, gamesaves didn't translate from discs to digital download. I'm hoping that won't be the case with the Vita, but it's always a possibility.

Good shit sony...good shit.

Completely surpassed my expectations. I was expecting Wipeout and a bunch of psp games but this is awesome stuff.

JSR and wipeout shall be mine!
