PS+ for PS Vita comes next week with FW 2.00, games revealed (WOW)

i'm excited about plus on vita, but i don't understand this change in mindset. is it just because there is free stuff? it's not like the content available for vita has changed.

The content has always been pretty good actually. There are more Vita games that I want than I can afford now; a lot more. The only thing really missing is RPGs, and we still have Ragnarok Odyssey at the very least. There are lots of games. I've been pretty picky, and I own 9 already (4 came out this month that I want on top of that). I only own 21 PSP games, and I had that system for years.

So I think this same question was basically just answered, but if I'm understanding right, PSPlus is a god send and I've been ignoring it for far too long.

1. There are new free games each month, you can download them and play them, but they don't expire at the end of the month, rather they expire when your PSPlus expires (possibly a year later)?

2. If we start DLing a game and don't finish it, or we download a game and then delete it, we can re download it any time during our PSPlus subscription? What if we cancel our subscription then resubscribe later, are our downloads still there?

3. One subscription gives both PS3 and PSV games?

This is incredible. If this truly is how it works, I am buying a PSPlus card TODAY. I need dem Vita games.

Correct. Correct. Yes/No, depending on the title. At the very least "cross-buy" DLC titles will give you that if they allow it and it's FREE. But we dunno at this moment but if Wipeout 2080 does it, most likely yes.

All correct.

If your sub lapses, you lose the content. When you resubscribe, you can play it all again

You don't even need to start downloading. Just "purchase" the free game to have it added to your download list.

Yeah, basically the games are yours as long as you're a subscriber. They will get cycled out periodically from the store, but if you downloaded them, you will keep them as long as you want and get the new ones on top of it.

Even if you cancel your sub, and start up again, you would then regain access to all those past downloads, even if they're not in the store anymore - as long as you downloaded them in the past.

And yeah, it's not just Vita, it's all the PS3 games as well. It was already a steal just from that, but now it's just getting stupid. Just this month alone they gave out Resident Evil 5 Gold and Quantum Conundrum free on PS3, and you get both subs for one price.

Omigosh that's great news. I am so buying a 12 month PSPlus subscription tonight. I was eventually gonna buy JSR and Uncharted and Gravity Rush anyways, and probably would have paid full 40 buck price for Uncharted/GR, so this is just too good to be true.

can someone provide a clear description of what happens when your ps+ sub runs out?

I know that you need to download games while they are active to keep them, but say i have a game installed and my sub runs out, what happens when i try to launch it? i know that if i resub, i can reaccess it, but if its already on the vita, can i launch it?

You won't be getting DJMax? :(

Holy... that releases next week too?

And if that is possible, can i redownload a previously downloaded game if my sub runs out?

-You still have to buy a memory card. That's up to another $100 right there.
-The retail games are discounted now. You can get Uncharted, Wipeout, and Gravity Rush for less than $90 from Amazon.

Someone already posted the game sizes for the PS+ freebies. An 8GIG card would do you well for starters, and it's just $25. No need to drop an additional $100 on a Memory card right out the gate. I got an 8gig that came with my PS3, and I can usually fit between 15-20 games on it, from Vita, to PSP, to PS1.

Yes, you can get Uncharted, wipEout, and Gravity Rush for $90 on Amazon, but hey, you can get them for $0 if you get PS+.

The cheapest you have to pay for Plus is $17.99.

A Vita, 8Gig, and PS+ will cost you: $307 (USD, of course).

A Vita, 8gig, and those 3 games you mentioned above, will cost you: $365.

You may be able to find some PS Vita deals to drop the price even lower for Black Friday. Even so, no matter how you cut it, this is a good deal for the Vita.

but that doesnt explain what happens to games already on your vita? do they get deactivated?

If you dont have a sub, yes.

They get reactivated once you resub.

Sneaky Sony. Oh well will have to buy the 32 giger some day. Wireless CMA is helping though.

I hope it is fast. I've never done it over a wire...anyone know how fast it is that way? To, say, delete a few gb of space on your vita and pull over a game from a ps3/pc?

It's much faster for me to download on to my PS3 and transfer them over.

So apparently the Vita has gone from being "dead" to a must buy with PS+? I hope GAF never changes from it's extreme pessimism to optimism.
Personally been a Vita owner from the beginning this is great. The only games I have are wipeout and mutant blobs so getting gr and uncharted is amazing. I cannot wait to see what else other games they rotate in. I fear that they go through the fist party titles and then have to start with a lot of PS one games.

Yea I know. I was just trying to type out the thoughts in my head. Thinking about it more critically, it probably should sound more like "It's just not worth the money" to "Damn, that's a hot deal".

edit: Happy it made some people laugh though, that is always the intent. =)

double edit: Does the system still cost over $200 (probably a stupid question).

Yeah, the cheapest one is still $250, and you still need a memory card. I saw these bundles on US Amazon, though:

http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-3G-Wi-Fi-Bundle/dp/B0071NH8B8/ref=sr_tr_sr_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1352840180&sr=8-1&keywords=playstation+vita

http://www.amazon.com/PlayStation-Vita-WiFi/dp/B003O6EATE/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1352840180&sr=8-2&keywords=playstation+vita

They both come with Memory Cards, but they may be just 4gig cards.

can someone give me the lowdown on physical to digital saves? so lets say i have a physical game "bubble"... it doesn't translate over to the digital version? or how does that work? Sorry if thats been covered, i can't seem to find it. thanks!

I'd say get the AC Liberation bundle for $250. You get a new game, a 4 GB memory card and the white system. Then get PS+, $300 total. Wait a while and get the bigger memory card when you recover. 4 GB is enough for all your saves, and enough to put any of the games on there from PS+, maybe even two full ones at once. All you would have to do is just transfer them over if you want to switch games after you beat one, and that's only until you get a new card.

It does translate. Saves are region locked so your American savefile won't be compatible with a Euro game.

Well tbh ... it's pretty slow :/
I honestly hope that they found some way to make it quicker. But yeah, atleast I don't have to go remove the cable from my bed room everytime I want to transfer over something.

In case anyone is curious, GameStop is offering $11 credit for Gravity Rush and $10 credit for Uncharted:GA. Chances are that those trade-in values will be much lower tomorrow.

If you have their rewards card you can get an extra 10% credit and you earn another 30% credit, for a total of 40%, by "saying" that your trades are going towards a special game (BLOPS2, Pikmin 3, NSMBU,etc). I was able to get $29.40 with those bonuses and in the end it will go towards my Wii U.

So, that Super Stardust sale is today or next Tuesday/store update?

Man, you could've gotten $20 for Gravity Rush alone at Best Buy.

If I get plus for Vita and PS3, do I also get all the back catalogue for PS3, or only whats right now and beyond?

Also is there a site where I can check whats available right now?

YES! I almost buy Gravity Rush, and Mutant Blobs was likely to be my next downloadable game. Now I'll get them for free, and will have 1GB extra of storage :))

Go Sony go! This kind of PS+ and the FW news sound great and will help the console! Let's hope the browser is that beta one that would push the HTML5 results in the Vita.

In terms of being "dead" this won't change that much in terms of the Vitas wider success. But stuff like this can definitely spur on a forum of gamers to be excited about it.

If + for Vita carries on like this, you could build up a really solid catalogue of the Vitas best games for no more than the cost of a system plus the price of one game for a + sub. That's a pretty interesting sell.
