Vita PSN Game And Service Thread

You are saying it yourself, is about talking about your experience with it. Confronting with the negativity won't convince anyone. But showing what it has and what is your experience with it may make a difference.

So, this is a valid idea in your opinion then? ->

Maybe someone should write a "I love my Vita, here are the reasons why I think it's worth getting" thread with a clear, concise and awesome OP. After that we all fall in and fight back the zombie, Vita eating horde.

Thats a nice idea. Actually, (I did that for an earlier thread) you could ask a mod to sanction this thread beforehand, banning any trolling when you declare that in the OP.

I'm not sure what's worse: reading the GameFAQs forums or taking anecdotal evidence about a game's sales performance in those forums at face value.

And neogaf is soo much better with all the doom and gloom threads?

Also im not taking it as face value, but you never hear of any other vita game doing that, even if a lie.

hey CivCity: Rome is fun, kinda.

And come one, I was in that thread too, they were what, 2 euros? :P I can take risks with those prices!

Its definitely fun, he is probably just complaining because he bought a game he is never going to play :p And it was 1 buck. I literally gifted it away to 30+ people.

For me, this thread is that already.

In my experience, with this climate, any attempt of a visible "counter-thread" will lead to another discussion that won't highlight any virtue.

Just my opinion based on what I have seen all these years.

I've been considering this. Need to find the time.

We should rename it to "THIS THREAD CONTAINS REASONS AND IMPRESSIONS WHY YOU SHOULD BUY A VITA" then (more snappy of course). Otherwise people see this threads neutral headline vs "DOOM DEAD GONE OVER" headlines and of course the more vocal headline will be stuck in peoples minds.

Not to mention that I tend to read over threads that are constantly on the front page. New threads that pop up each week get more attention by bystanders than the regular threads which are mostly filled by the subcommunity.

Its just PR, and this forum is amassing a huge amount of negative PR and influencing people not to buy the console for invalid reasons.

It's just that with that thread you made me buy not one but three games in a genre I don't like because I couldn't decide which would be better for me and yeah, they were so cheap. I hope one day I can appreciate the genre.

Not complaining, just joking. I thought it was a good example to support your argument.

Yes because this thread doesnt move fast enough.

Oh boy. The GameFAQs Vita board is a disgrace. I was bored and ventured there, possibly to read what others are saying about releases around the world, but literally more than 50% of the threads had the word "flopped" in it.

This kind of mentality definitely stems from big forums like GAF, spread to smaller ones and news sites and the like. Key thing to keep in mind is that, like it or not, a lot of these prospective buyers or forum-goers have a desire to be accepted in some way...either to others or themselves or both.

Having an item that's "in" with the so-called internet game enthusiast crowd fills an imaginary void for them. Another way of looking at it is the old (predominantly Western) mantra of "if it's not a blockbuster, it's shit". These may not be "dudebros" critiquing, but the mantra is still inside them in a different form, not as blatant. So what if, at the moment, the Vita is still building steam and not a worldwide, sell-out, your-mother-even-is-buying-one blockbuster hit? That makes it seen as terrible in many's mind, whether we know it or not.

So again, in summary, GAF does have an influence on many of this and many of the unbacked and boredom-fueled hate threads have to come to an end. Let's get rallying for that Negativity OT.

Haha, I know :) Which city building games did you try and not like btw? OT, but curious.

While I am not against a Negativity OT, I think the mods wont agree on that with the "new news, new thread" rule.
A really well made and meaningful mod sanctioned troll ban trap "I love my Vita, here are the reasons why I think it's worth getting" thread is more likely to happen.

It will also give more positive vibes, thats probably the better idea to rally for. We need to bump that one every time another doomsday thread pops up.

No one should buy any white PlayStation products EVER because they turn piss yellow in few weeks.

;_;
I don't think it applies to ALL playstation products,my cousin's psp go is still white and i think these controllers have a cheap finish as compared to the handhelds.

Not saying gfaqs isnt crap, i just click on the topics i want to read. I know better than to read troll topics.

I go through forums very fast, and this thread just doesnt have enough content. Bored at work do that to you.

Working at home is awesome for being bored "at work". God, I love working at home.

Not exactly the same case (pun intended) here. The White Vita has a different type of plastic, glossy finish, and in most of it's parts covered by a clear, transparent plastic. Much different from the thin-shell matte White DualShock3. The cheaper, thin quality of that model controller mixed with the type of material may give way to that. There's other first party controller models such as the "Metallic Blue" for example, that is made with a thicker, more quality shell. One way to tell is if you can see if it's one of the thin models is the red LED through the plastic while in a dark room.

Sorry, but saying that GAF is spreading the Vita Hate mentality is starting to sound a little tin foil hattish. These other forums would be the same regardless of GAF being a paragon of Vita love or in denouncing it in every post.

Working at home is awesome for being bored "at work". God, I love working at home.

Actually i am working at home, because hurricane sandy shut down my building for 2 months.

Also because i will be working from home for the enxt 2 months, it is the reason i decided to buy my vita earlier.

->

I know what you are trying to say, but forums actually do PR work and either GET people to buy things or hold them off of buying things.

I did both multiple times for great or super bad games by posting my opinion. Pretty sure I sold about 500-1000 copies of games (counting all games together I was vocal on, not 500 copies of a single game) on GAF just by word of mouth through threads I made or impressions I pushed in the Steam thread.

Same the other way round, I am also rather sure I influenced people not to buy certain games after being relatively vocal about my feelings for them.

And this is exactly what those threads are doing. Not doing anything about it is more or less the same as hating on it currently since it will just convince people not to buy the console. Forums and perceived public opinions matter a LOT, more so on prominent and important forums that are even cited in the press.

A single person can move 500-1000 game copies, imagine what a forum( consisting of 4,000 people online at a time) that reaches 50k-100k people each day is doing.

The last doom thread talked about the Vita selling how many copies in japan? 4000? A single, BIG forum can have a LOT of impact on sales.

There's a reason that history repeats itself: People fail/refuse to learn from it.

Good lord no. No reason to infest the one thread where you won't be berated for your choice :p

lol, good point. Grah, annoying issue. (The "Why I love my Vita" thread it is then! ;) )

I can't believe you guys are STILL talking about the d&g thread. Let it go, already!

Let ii runs its course. It's just fresh (after mostly positive news .. aka PS+). By the end of the week we'll be back to shouting at people to buy Velocity or Mutant Blobs.

Well I'll get the ball rolling

Buy Mutant Blobs, dudes

Back to games?

Anyone here actually played What did I do to deserve this my Lord?

I want to talk about tactics :( The game is great and I got another two challenge missions (D and S ranked respectively) done today.

So I guess swapping memory cards messes up your icons. Think they'll add folders at some point?

Or more importantly, not show icons for cartridge-based games? I don't need all the games I've played taking up an icon even though the game isn't installed. It's silly.

Either way, I'm all sorted out on my 32GB now. Got something like 18GB free, so that should keep me going for a while.

And listen to weekend confirmed! Seems be pretty .. well pretty indifferent to positive to the Vita. In fact this past week one of them actually said they prefer MW on Vita.

I bought the AC Bundle so yes my Vita is white but I bought a ''starter'' kit yesterday, made by Biogenik and there is a black protective silicone case, car charger, screen protector, cleaning cloth,10-in-1 Travel game case and a carry all travel bag...the black protective case fits well around the Vita, except for the hole for the camera lens on the back but I will fix that...well worth it for 25 bucks I thought.

Aw, Derrick and Pranay banned? =/
Wow.

Kat as DLC in PSABR.

Glad she's getting some love!
Agreed. Totally makes me not question getting the game day 1 now. It's like SuperBot touched my heart with Sir Dan and KAt.

I remember playing the demo a few years ago and it was so much fun, but I haven't gone back to buy it. I'm sure if it's on sale during this Nisa sale coming up, I'll get it!

Neat. My PSABR interest has waned significantly but the more the merrier, and hopefully GR being free on + might push one or two over the edge on All-Stars

Not gonna weigh in on GAF mods/threads/trolls, not worth my time or effort
