This Vita bundle is insane... (Vita, mem card, AssCreed $179.99 WOW)

A deal this good should be sold out with in minutes. A PS3/360 deal like this would be gone instantly.

if they had so little stock that it would sell out in minutes it would be a lightning deal. The gold box deals are for items they have a ton of stock for. For a deal like this I wouldn't be surprised if sony teamed up with them and they actually had a huge number of them.

LOL at the reversal here.

Two hours ago everyone(including myself) was hot on this, and now we all have buyers remorse

I have no buyers remorse, it's a great deal for a nice handheld that has more games that interest me to play then the 3ds which I already own has. Of course I won't buy things unless I am sure I want them and am fine with the price so I almost never have buyers remorse in general.

Does the Vita play most PSN games? I think the best thing the Vita could do is start supporting most PSN games. I think most would run on the system if adapted properly. A lot of PSN games are games that I don't intend to play on my PS3. They are often too small and I'd rather play my big retail games instead. If I could buy it on one and play it on both, I'd spend a lot more money in the Playstation Store.

I have to join you in this sentiment.

Purchased it then decides to cancel. The primary factor...my Wii U. I can play console games on a handheld from anywhere in my home. If I still lived in the city though and commuted I would've followed through.

After you buy a WiiU game the cost is almost double this Vita deal. I got the Vita deal now then will sell it in a few months and use that cash to get a WiiU for personal use.

Lord knows how many they have in-hand, but the fact that they're still available at all is an embarrassment for Sony.

The $199 ps3 deal is still available on their site even after the lightning deal was 100% claimed. For someone with neither console, that's a much better deal cos it has ps+, 2 infamous games and 2 uncharted games

How have I never heard of this game. And it's on PS3 as well, right? Does it have cross play? Buy one, get the other free?

Here's a gameplay trailer, by the way.

I'm not sure how big of a shmup fan you are, but I can't stand it.

It's downright GORGEOUS and the story is...interesting, to say the least. And a whole hell of a lot darker than you might think for anthropomorphic animals, but...

It plays really poorly. It's like they got all the visual ideas in place before finding out that it's a mechanical failure.

I can offer more detailed criticisms if you'd like, but I feel it might be out of place in this thread.

How's the PSN and downloadable-PSP library for this?

Even if there aren't that many retail games, perhaps the downloadable library can justify it :P

This bundle comes with nearly everything worth playing on the Vita, on limited edition hardware, at an aggressive discount. This should be a much bigger deal than it actually is, yet you have people waffling, even people cancelling to avoid buyer's remorse.

"wut?" C'mon, son.

most people enjoy the story, one of the nice things it has going for it are social links which lets you get to know the characters better and get bonuses while doing it. I haven't finished persona 4 yet so I can't comment about the overall quality of the story, but I enjoyed what I played on the ps2 (i dropped it when the vita version was announced lol)

I think a lot of the appeal with persona is the same that pokemon has though where you can get in a serious gotta catch them all mentality with personas and aiming to strike other demon's weaknesses. The game has well over 100 different persona's you can use in battle each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses and a number of moves to learn. the end result to me is a lot like pokemon for adults when it comes to persona 3/4, I am not sure if others would agree with this but to me that is how things feel, as I always found myself grinding for money and persona so I could fuse more of them and try to get them all lol.

Just to offer up a different perspective, yes people always say this about the SMT games, but I've never played Pokemon in my life, and have never wanted to. Even though Persona 3 and 4 are really easy, I really like the SMT games in general because they can be pretty challenging, especially if you keep fusions to a minimum. Not to mention the SMT games have fantastic battle systems, especially Nocturne.

Not it doesn't and I agree, yes it should.

Fancy Pants Adventures, Dead Nation, Shatter, PixelJunk etc.

So many games that I'd play more if I had them with me all the time.

You know what made me sour on this deal? You know they are going to have a price drop and other bundle deals at equal or better prices. It's not like the Vita can't afford to not compete with price. Right now, you can get a wifi/3G Vita used at Gamestop for $199. The Wifi ones will surely go down soon as they don't move. Vita cards will get cheaper. And the system will either be reborn with a lower price, or die (more likely situation). It's best to just sit in the wings and wait and see what happens.

My only regret so far is not considering picking up a larger memory card with the system. I could order one now, but the system would be here tomorrow and the card would show up next week, and I'm not waiting to play it. I'll probably just upload my saves to the PS+ cloud and delete stuff when I want to play something else, and then hope there's a good sale on one before my Plus runs out.

Naw you will not see a better deal like this for a long time.

Am I reading that right? Only 29 left?

Just stop it.

Well in my case, that isn't true. I work at GameStop, so I can get 15% off used systems. So I can buy a wifi/3G model right now used for $170. I don't care about 4 GB cards. I'm gonna need a bigger one. I don't care about AC: Liberation. I already have PSASBR and the Vita version waiting on my PS3. So all I really have to do is hunt a good looking used system at any store it's available at whenever I change my mind. And I see a price drop happening. GameStop can surely afford to do it. They only give like ~$55 store credit for a Vita anyways.

Yeah, same here. I was really excited to play it, but after playing the demo, I really didn't like it. I've never been good at shmups, but I've also never played one that interrupted play so often, just for scenes of dialog, after dialog, after dialog.

if you dont like the games that doesnt make the deal less good. A black used vita compared to this deal is silly. Just stop.

Same. I mostly just want Uncharted though so that at least will fit on the 4gb.

Yeah, I'm not sure when I'll be able to get a Vita for this price again, but I just don't think it makes sense to buy it just because it's a good deal.

Having a hard time with this myself. I feel I should buy it because it's an incredible deal. Just don't think I will play it much.

How does a game I don't care about being packed in make it a better deal? I do not like Assassin's Creed at all. The trade value on it is going to plummet like all pack-in games, so it's not like I could even trade it in for a good value by the time I got it. Again, I said in my case it isn't really a deal that benefits me. I already own one of the games, I don't care about the other game, I would buy a larger memory card regardless if I bought that pack or a used one, and I can already get a used one for less or wait for the inevitable price drop on the used ones.

its true though

Outside of maybe rayman origins and P4 it comes with every single title that people have been ranting and raving about plus a few additional AAA titles

Rayman Origins, LBP, Mortal Kombat, Sound Shapes, Hot Shots Golf, NFS, Persona 4 etc etc There's far more to play on the Vita than what's listed in the deal. The statement he made was idiotic.

So I get MK Vita for $10 today too in addition to this bundle.

Also interested in a few other games so I know I'll have stuff to play. I love the Dynasty Warriors series so that or Rayman will be my next pickup.

Nope it doesn't cause you're still just trolling.

Negativity is trolling, gotcha. Can't say anything negative about anything people like, lest it make them feel bad about their personal choices.

I bought one of these and am looking forward to receiving it. It's just disconcerting that people still question the value in the system when a deal like this comes along.

The crux of the post was that the bundle doesn't seem as popular as one would think, despite the high-quality titles being included with it; it wasn't intended as a commentary on the general quality of the Vita's library. That you took it as such says a lot.

last reward on 3ds lol Do not like disgaea :p
fair enough :P
Yep! More people means more fun. Hopefully Capcom notices that people are actually buying the vita and starts making a new Monster Hunter for it...

I would guess, even if amazon moved 100 million vitas today through this deal that capcom wouldn't be any more inclined to make a monster hunter game for the vita. The market for MH in NA wouldn't be worth it (it doesn't sell big numbers here) unless they thought it would sell a ton in Japan where MH is a big deal.

I actually want to get a Vita, which is why I ordered it. I just have a hard time putting in the faith required to believe things will turn around for the system. Hopefully Sony keeps the PS+ gravy train rolling for the Vita and make it worth it on that alone for now.
