Vita PSN Game And Service Thread

So my NFS: MW is somewhere in the black hole that is EA's Origin store. They confirmed it's processing, that it is retail, and that it should ship today... sigh the uncertainty. I got it because of the half off black Friday sale.

Still waiting on my P4G copy though - newegg shipping seriously sucks. I'm really considering canceling my other preorders because of it, I figure the speed I get for free shipping at Amazon versus the 10$ off coupon I got for several games on Newegg is worth switching for. I can't wait to put that skin on my Vita - no more greasy fingerprints!

Hey did you ever post a review/impressions of New Little King Story? I'm thinking it will be the next Vita game I buy and I'm oddly curious about it. Never played the original on the Wii or any Pikmin games

So when you guys speak about rotating games and what not, does that mean I have to download Uncharted/Gravity/etc. before the next rotation otherwise I won't have access to them? Or do they only add games and not remove them?

If I delete my Uncharted game from the memory card, will I still get the cards I earned, to use in Fight For Fortune? Or do I need to still have the game installed?

I am backing it up to the PC as we speak anyway, but just wanted to be sure.

I thought that it would only save "replays" with that option initially, but from the "replay" menu you can then pick up the game where you saved it. One caveat though, if you reload a saved AI match, this match wont count towards any of your statistics anymore (you could just save right before winning a match and then save spam the last move to get 100 wins). Its a bit... weird, but it works.

Also mind adding me on PSN for Chess matches if you grab it? :) Write me a PM with your PSN if you want.
Thanks, will pick it up now. I need a game that makes me feel civilised, I'm going to grow a moustache and buy a monocle to wear as I play.

PSN is same as name here.

How? I tried to play Journey with Remote play and it said the content wasn't supported.
Yeah, as has been said it needs to be supported in the game. A bit weird really, a simple warning that it might not perform perfectly as standard would be more than enough.

I was bored, let me talk a bit about an undeservedly unappreciated Vita title by the dev who made Fantavision on PS2:
Is this the game that uses the AR cards?

We don't know yet, but I'm guessing it'll look for the save.

sucks yours hasn't shown up. I got mine from new egg back on saturday

I don't mind waiting a few extra days for savings in general though. so even if i was still waiting I likely wouldn't care due to the 25% in savings.

It will access the save file I guess. Could be that you need to have it installed once you update Fight for Fortune, then it has the updated cards from UC and then you could probably delete it completely.

Just guessing though.

They remove games from the service after a while, just "buy" them for free and you can download them even when they arent on the service anymore though.

Also: UC and GR will stay on the service for some time.

Hell yeah

Worst of all, not a single iOS or Android game was nominated.

AH AH AHA HA HHAHA AHH AH HA.

As an avid Android gamer, I can honestly tell you that those games don't match up in anyway shape or form to the ones nominated. The best released this year (Rayman Jungle Run, Star Wars Angry Birds and their like) are no comparison.

You have to have them added to your download list before they're removed from the rotation. After that they'll be available as long as you're an active PS+ subscriber.

Ccurrently playing Uncharted: GA on crushing and it's the first Uncharted game I'm not having fun with on that difficulty. The cover mechanic is a bit broken and I hate that enemies hit you with every single bullet most of the time. Right now I'm stuck on chapter 14 or something because the only weapon I can use there is the sniper rifle, but I don't have even a second to aim before I'm killed. Infuriating!

IIRC there are a few titles that use the higher res RP.

It's sad that Sony have had the ability to do this for 6 years with the PS3 and yet hardly anything supports it.

Hopefully with the PS4 it is an OS feature rather than a Game feature which Devs have to work on.

God of War: Origins (1 and 2)
Ico and SOTC Collection

All 4 titles support a more higher quality remote play.

I do believe Remote Play as we know it will be retired in favor of Gaikai based technology to locally stream games to the Vita (just a guess).

Playing PS3 and potentially PS4 games away from the television is an extremely interesting proposition. It is what I find most interesting about the Wii U.

Actually, I think the Ico collection is the only game optimized for vita remote play...

I keep asking Yoshida if they will announce any new info regarding this and I get nothing. Don't look for anything soon unless you can't wait to play Tokyo Jungle on the go. The Vita is amazing but could be so much more

So this remote play thing... since I don't have a PS3 it means nothing to me right? I can't get Tokyo Jungle (Once it's patched for US Remote Play) on my Vita without a PS3?

That is correct. You would need a PS3 to "serve" the game to your Vita.

I'd argue that Tokyo Jungle should have been on the Vita in the first place!!!!!!!!

Curses, I only want a PS3 for the quirky PSN releases that it gets, but can't justify the price yet.

I know, ironic that I was able to convince myself a Vita was worth it at only 20 dollars less. *lol*

I was going to download Uncharted onto my Vita the other day as part of my Playstation Plus membership but over Internet wi-fi it was going to take like 12 hours for some reason.

Is there any way to download a Vita game from the PSN store using a computer then sync it via USB or local Wi-Fi? I tried going to the PSN website but I couldn't find a download option for Vita games.

Pause the download and restart it. You're probably defaulting to a slow server.

It's a semi-sequel to the original. It has enough new content to make it worth the play, in my opinion. A lot of people hate the new art style, I love it (but I'm a sucker for animu stuff). The main problem the game has is the slowdown, but it's not too terrible - the game is still playable and it's still super fun. There's tons of stuff to do and unlock, and if you want to go for the platinum it's easily at least a 50-60 hour experience.

Once your royal guard gets above... 15ish people you start to notice slowdown. Honestly you don't really need more than that, but I like having a 30 person guard and I still play the game and enjoy it. The music and humor is still there, and the graphics are pretty nice.

I think it's a crime that there is slowdown in the game because if the slowdown wasn't there it'd easily be a must buy/killer app for the Vita, but considering how it can dip a lot sometimes I'd say you need to go into the game knowing what to expect with that.

If you're looking for a strategy RPG/sim/city builder of sorts, the game is great and worth playing but it definitely could've been much better with a locked framerate. I really love the game though, with how many games I have for the Vita (at least a dozen), it's hard for a game to keep my attention for so long but I'm going for the platinum in the game and loving every second of it.

If you absolutely can't stand a game with performance issues, I'd say be cautious. If you're willing to overlook the slowdown and enjoy the game for what it is, I couldn't recommend it any more than I already have. It'll be my first Vita platinum ;)

On another note, I completely forgot that:

a) Starlight Inception might come to Vita next year possibly
b) Rainbow Moon will come to Vita possibly next year - SRPG

Yesterday I was just thinking of Knytt Underground. Thinking of all these small and ambitious titles, I am definitely not worried about getting games on my Vita throughout 2013.

Btw, doesnt matter If Starlight makes the 2013 release or not. Just noticed that I forgot about the game completely. Weird. One would think that you remember stuff that you are excited about.

i know this is supposed to be the "OT" vita thread, but is there a thread that has links for all NewVitaGafBros? i have a feeling that without proper information i'm going to be overlooking 1/2 the things i can do and confused about the other 1/2 of the things i can do.

We talked about writing an introductory post for newcomers. Dont think anyone did that so far. If you have any question, feel free to ask though.
Carl? You mentioned that, are you writing one? If not and if there isnt one yet, lets brainstorm what should be included.

Holy shitballs, Starlight Inception is coming to Vita?? :O I AM SO HAPPY. I'm also excited for Rainbow Moon :)

I am convinced that the Vita announcement is part of the reason they actually hit their goal. And yep :) Looking forward to that as well. (BUT VITA HAS NO GAMES.)

Holy crap, barely any games support it.

Jaded one .. you and I have agreed to disagree on other topics (mostly about sales, lol) but yes, the support of it is absolute crap.

Where the heck is Killzone 3 remote play as demoed by Yoshida? Is it a limitation of the PS3? I understand that it has to be patched in but give us a few more titles than this.

I'm curious about that actually, especially with the touchscreen controls instead of motion or anologue sticks. Cheap too..nice - although the "moves:6" in the top left corner is a bit confusing

Puzziball can be purchased for £0.79/€0.99, with an additional pack of advanced challenge stages available for £0.79/€0.99 if you yearn for more puzzling goodness.

Probably $1 in real money.

Puzziball looks quite good. Looks like it will be fun on my new PSCertified phone too. For 79p i'll give it a go.

Dont ignore me Carl or I'll make GAF censor the words "Mutant" and "Blob" if they are written by you :p

Sorry man, i just skin read this thread most of the time. Didn't catch my name there :)

I wasn't writing one, no. But i definitely think we need something back in the OP as an introduction and an FAQ for all of the new VitaBros.

I'm so glad urban trials still exists.

I'm aching for a trials esque game on vita.

All I need is that, minecraft and fallout. Pity only one will exist :(

Was there anything in any of the older threads?

I went straight to Journey. That game is perfect for remote play. I'm very surprised how unsupported this feature is.

Buckled on Motorstorm and Hustle Kings.

Really impressed with both. Just need to fill up my leaderboards now. I noticed I don't have an online rank for levels, whereas eveyone around me does. Why is that? (In Motorstorm that is)

Awesome. I love Hustle Kings but it seems like it's not too talked about here. So much great content in there.

I am honestly surprised so many people like the feature. Having the PS3 running in the background while playing Vita seems a bit of a.. waste to me.

Great content? How so? Only played on PS3 for a short while and didnt feel it had "great" content. Considered rebuying though as it didnt seem like a bad game overall. (it wasnt crossbuy, right?)
