I think the Nolans and Goyer get more a kick out of writing dialogue for the villains. Villain dialogue in the TDK series is always great.

Yeah, I agree with the Joker lines. Again, sometimes it's all in the delivery of the line.

Yeah, that line stuck with me the most. I think I've mentioned it here a few times after my first watch.
 
The quality of TDKR's script is basically like fan-fiction. It's just that Nolan's a good director so he masks the shitty script quite well.
 
Watching some of the special features now...

Nolan: "Bruce Wayne's skills as a fighter, what he does as Batman, is of extraordinary importance. And we did not test it on the first two films. I really wanted to see Batman meet his match physically in this film and see what that would present."
*Cut to*
Goyer: "We knew that it would be exciting if we had Batman have his ass handed to him."

Talia's death scene was shit, but everything up to that scene was stellar. Her introduction at the beginning and conversations with Bruce was fine. And she looked scrumptious!
 
There's this line from The Dark Knight Reborn (Best Buy Exclusive Documentary) I liked:

I would have loved to see Bruce don the Begins suit for the final fight just so he could get brutally massacred because he can't even turn his god damned head. Bane doing the two step before putting a finishing blow to the back of Bruce's skull would have been the most cathartic moment in film history, an explosion of blood from Wayne's mouth has his eyes well up and bug out from the force of his brain being liquified by the ferocity and speed of a fully rejuvenated League of Shadows, his city lost. His legacy, vaporized in the blinding light of a neutron bomb. Poetry.

The final fight should have had Bruce take off the mask because it was stifling him. Then he pulls out a sword and fights Bane on the iced-over lake that people have been sentenced to walk over! (oh shit) Then the Ra's ghost comes back and shouts encouraging reminders like 'Mind your surroundings!' and 'I counted six, Mr. Wayne!' that don't completely make sense within context, but are throwbacks nonetheless and therefore completely important.
 
I love having a lot of Bruce but I want some badass Batman. Not a limp Batman everytime I see him. At least have him not a weak mofo the first half. Don't make him retire. They dude was Batman for a year and pussywhipped by one girl for 4 years.
 
Dude never stopped being pussywhipped. Selina was the ultimate pussycat on a pedestal. She broke the no killing rule, betrayed him to being crippled etc etc

Then Bruce, Gordon and Blake flat out FALL THROUGH THE ICE (JESUS!), the Joker SPRAYS the water with bullets that the WHIZZ PAST THEIR FACES LIKE BEES ON SPEED (oh shit. FUCK ) before they make it to the other side. Bruce and Gordon climb out of the water, then notice Blake isn't swimming. They haul him out of the water and HE'S DEAD. Gordon FINGERS THE HOLE IN BLAKE'S VEST!

Things are a little hazy on the linearity of ideas right now but thus far I got:

  • Bruce enjoying cat food / taming guard tigers with Selina while infiltrating Bane's underground lair
  • Alfred doing a Harry Brown on Bane's skull while Bruce limps around from a Joker knife to the leg.
  • Bane's second hand man revealing he's the one who paid Joe Chill to kill Bruce's parents
  • Christmas dinner at Selina's house where Juno Temple keeps coming on to JGL
  • Bane choking out Scarecrow with some ancient LoS beads after failing to kill Gordon

Why wasn't Hobo With a Shotgun included with the trilogy set, Nolan? It's true what they say about TDK's death toll, Nolan really can't count.
