Those that are not interested, perhaps you should just stay away. Yeah?
No! They must continually reiterate their lack of enthusiasm for the movie! Their opinions are what their opinions are, and their presumptions and predispositions are already irreparably going to affect their overall experience of it.

People just need to accept this and move on now, nothing's going to change next summer.

Funny. I hope he plays as small a role as possible in these films.

Luthor is as important to Supes as Joker is to Batman. He has to play a role in this series but they need to stay as far away as possible from Donners interpretation of him.

I prefer the Lex from Justice League Unlimited... if they could just copy that character and put him on big screen I'd be ecstatic.

If you say so, champ.

You do realize I'm right and you're wrong, right? The teaser got nothing but praise on GAF and everywhere else.

I thought that was one of the worst teasers in recent memory.

Actually, I recant on calling Skyfall's teaser the best. This is better.

I just don't get this GAF obsession about Trent Reznor Soundtracks. I think that teaser is offensive to my ears. The only good thing about it (if this is consindered to be a good thing): After watching that teaser I have actually no fucking clue what the movie is about.

I agree that Luthor is important. But I feel the Superman films have gone to that well too often. It's time to make better use of Superman's rogues gallery. I don't mind Luthor playing some role in the films, but I'd prefer he stay as much in the background as possible.

I dont understand why most people want a light in tone sort of movie, the donner movies have already done it, havent they?

Also seems like most people are confusing "gritty/grounded in reality" with "sober/emotional". This seems like this will be the latter but will have outlandish action scenes as wintessed by te trailer.

I guess we can compare the tone to how ang lee's hulk - serious tone but over the top action. Nolan films tried too hard to explain the action to make it believable - thats a different thing.

You said that Skyfall had the best teaser of the past 5 years. I disagreed. You then posted a teaser that we both agreed was better than Skyfall's. So what am I wrong about again?

Really enjoying the melancholic vibe of this film. Goyer wrote the script, so I'm sure it doesn't have anything profound to say, but it sure does look like it does.

Seen the trailer a few times now and only just now noticed thats Laurence Fishburne as Perry White running away from the collapsing building.

I am so sick of origin stories. When is Hollywood going to start making movies that acknowledge how much the public already knows about these characters?

Best teaser in last 5 years is the watchmen teaser.

Awesome shots, spot on music, slick editing.

Better than watching the movie even.

This looks like the most interesting of origin stories thus far imo, outside of maybe Iron Man / 1st half of BB

This is the kind of trailer I needed to get my hype level rising!

Tone feels good to me. Granted it doesn't have the levity of the Donner films, but the bubbling Luther and Ned Beatty always annoyed me. I wanted a Superman tackling serious themes and it looks like I'm finally getting it.

Now we'll see how it actually turns out with Synder directing...

But that's what the lowest common denominator wants.

"C'mon Supes! Catch a woman falling from a skyscraper. Punch a bad guy in the face after him shooting 6 bullets and throwing the gun at'ya. Oh and save some adorable looking puppy or cat. Then struggle a bit with that green stuff have your ass saved by Lois and punch the bad guy some more and then kiss Lois at the end!"

The first 30 minutes you can do whatever you like to establish Superman... after that it's hard to concentrate on plot and characters for some.

I really don't like the tone they're going for here. It looks bleak and grim, trying so hard to be more "realistic", but this is fucking Superman. I feel this is part of what really made Superman Returns suffer too - trying too hard to try and make sense of how Superman could fit into the world today. I don't think they need to do that. Just make a big fun colorful movie about an invincible alien who comes to Earth, grows up, and does things we cannot do, making the world a safer place.

And we already had this with Nolan's Batman movies. We can have more than one type of anything, as long as it fits with the character's tone. I just don't think it would work here. I would much rather have an Avengers style Superman. Give me Brainiac and Lex Luthor plotting the destruction of Metropolis, and Superman kicking all their asses. Give me humor, Jimmy Olson, cheesy stuff with Lois Lane, and bright high contrast blue and red streaking across a brightly lid daytime skyline.

Pretty much how I feel. I liked the trailer, but it's not what I was hoping for.

I really wanted this to be a more "enjoyable" Superman than Returns was, but the trailer makes it look so emo and sad and depressing. A little too serious to be honest. And not a single shot of Superman fighting anyone, nor even a mention of the bad guys he will be facing off against?

Plus, while the music was okay, it was not inspiring nor did it make me think of what Superman stands for. And that line from Pa Kent about "maybe letting them die", that really shouldn't' be in the script at all. One of the biggest reasons Clark is who he is was due to Jon Kent raising him. That kind of bothered me.

So yeah, a little disappointing.

On the new suit, I'm fine with it except for one thing: his cape is too long. It should be about a foot shorter IMHO. Just kind of looks too Batman-ish, or Spawn-ish for Superman.

Hopefully the movie is better than this trailer suggests. WB really can't afford to mess up another Superman movie, that would just be criminal.
