Man of Steel - Official Trailer #2

I'm hearing impressions of people that watched the trailer with The Hobbit that the trailer is in 3D...is this true? I didn't know they were converting it.

I really dug the idea of a new Kryptonian being a tyrant and aggressively ended all spats on the planet (and people love him for it). Would have been a really refreshing take on a villain. But it was too little, too late Singer

I wasn't so lucky yesterday, my showing of the hobbit in liemax 3d showed the old teaser. there was some audible booing and complaining about the lack of new trailer, which really surprised me. first showing probably brought out the hardcore fans who follow the latest goings on about what trailers are showing and stuff.

anyway, would be great if that's true. some of the shots really lend themselves to the 3d process. hope it's true.

should have done it in the first movie sans the annoying super kid of course. just have new kryptonian / brainiac transfer his conciousness into a kryptonian her kidnapped and kept in stasis or something.

Would have been a way to introduce Supergirl, actually.

that's...actually a great idea. shame that it will never happen. what are the chances of a similar story happening in the synder / nolan movies. (if the first movie is a success of course, which I hope it is)

You talking the movie or trailer? I think they announced a month ago that it would be converted into 3D.

The movie. I missed those news, or forgot about them. I know Pacific Rim's conversion was announced. Oh well. I can only hope it's not a distracting conversion, I really want to see this movie in a digital projection(we don't ever get digital 2D versions of 3D movies)

That sucks.

Honestly, since this is such a critical film for the future of Superman films (and DC films), I don't mind if they're going to try and squeeze out as much revenue as they can, but I'll be staying far away from 3D screenings.

Snyder sounds like the ultimate dudebro in interviews. He really needs to avoid saying awesome so much.

He is actually one of the most inarticulate individuals I have ever heard. Or maybe he's just really bad with interviews. But the guy has a really tough time expressing himself in spoken language.

:lol It's true. Good thing for him that he chose a career in a visual medium.

I really want to see the initial conversation between Nolan and Snyder

"What do you think of the Batman movies Snyder?"

"They're awesome"

"And Superman?"

"He's awesome"

"Wanna direct one?"

"Maybe"

Maybe he's a kind of savant that excels in the visual format.

Note to self: Need to check if there's any connection between an obsession for slow motion and dyslexia.

DC will pull a marvel and get in a divisive fanboy with a film and comic-book history
Kevin Smith

Were that to happen, the resulting online war between the Whedonites and Smithsonians would lead to the downfall of modern civilization as we know it.

I can totally see WB getting Kevin Smith to do Justice League.

Except, unlike Whedon, Smith is going to suck on occasion and make a $200 mill turd.

didn't he also do red state? which was a certifiable mess of a movie. not even the magnificent john goodman was able to save that mess.

Ranger Danger and the Danger Rangers actually sounded like it could have been good. By Smiths own admission though, he didn't think he could direct the action heavy film.

Could anyone have predicted Joss Whedon of all people would be directing Avengers ahead of time? Most people were sure it was going to be Faverau before the spat

His name was always there but I really don't think even the biggest Whedon fans would have thought he would be trusted with the job.

THERE ARE TWO TYPES OF PEOPLE KAL-EL!

GOOD OR BAD!

WHICH ONE WILL YOU BE?!

Also, Cavill looks so much more badass with the big beard. His face looks weird without it. Like it wants to grow the beard again.

As much as Snyder should borrow from Nolan/Goyer about storytelling, he should stay the fuck away from taking notes on how to stage action from nolan.

Action is Nolan's heel, as much as coherent storytelling is for Snyder. Hopefully both can learn from one another.

Obviously Snyder wouldn't need advice from Nolan on how to stage action. Snyder already knows how to deliver great action. Even Sucker Punch blew me away with a couple of its scenes.

train scene? the dragon scene was well done too. didn't really like the trenches though and I'm not sure why. maybe it was the pacing or the fact that it tried too hard to focus on everyone and lost sight of actually being good and focused.

The only Snyder movie that could be accused of incoherent storytelling is the theatrical cut of Sucker Punch. DotD, 300 and Watchmen...none of them suffer from that. Heck, the Sucker Punch director's cut is far more coherent than the theatrical.

I think he would be a good fit actually. He handled the ensembles well in 300 and Watchmen. And he would give us some epic action with the JL.
Oh I certainly don't think he would be a bad choice. He would be a great fit, which is why I think WB will give him the nod if MoS is successful. I wouldn't be surprised if they were already talking to him about it.

I really love the idea for Singer's proposed sequel. If I remember correctly, when Brainiac takes over the kid, Superman has to kill the kid. That's awesome, could be powerful stuff. Plus getting to see a kryptonian face off from the guy that directed the air plane sequence in returns would've been a dream. Makes that whole first movie seem like setup, oh well, this new one looks neat.

As down as I have been about Justice League (it still feels like a rushed cash in to get into the big super team movie), Snyder making it would get me excited.

I want a Justice League movie eventually. If done right, it could be one of the most epic things ever. I just want them to plan it right and not rush it through.
