The dramatization of this kind of shit by news anchors is so fucking stupid. It happens every time there's a horrible big thing happening.

Just heard a guy saying this town will now live in infamy, so much worse than Columbine. Then a lady says they were waiting for christmas to be able to open presents etc.

Like can you shut the fuck up and report the facts you dickheads. If you don't have facts at the moment don't commentate and infuse your retard opinions about how important this event is. And they say the most common sense stupid shit over and over and over and over and over until they get new facts.

In human history, and that somehow makes this ok?

Saying America needs to become a police state or other nonsensical things is not necessary. There is a way to have an intelligent discussion without saying omg humans need to all die or america is such a horrible country.

This is so fucking fucked up.

I can't even imagine killing someone in self-defense, let alone taking aim at a child and pulling a trigger.

Absolutely unfathomable. Jesus Christ

Declare a America a fucking police state. Martial law. You people have no self control

Glad we're all guilty for a few people actions!

Anyone find it strange that none of the people in the pictures are bloody or anything, considering the magnitude of the shooting?
I guarantee you that there are editorial meetings going on right now determining what they're willing to show. Bloody children are off limits...unless your Reuters.

Absolutely mortifying. The photos of the kids walking out, hands on shoulders crying, made my stomach turn.

Where is the media right now in terms of detaching any sort of meaningful gun control debate from this horrific tragedy. Are they at the ,"knifes kill people too" or "if all the children were armed this wouldn't have happened" checkpoint yet?

Times like this is not for discussing politics. The country and world has to be united in condemning and mourning IMO. Politicizing this is a huge slap in the face to the family of the victims.

i thought it was kept in one classroom, or something to that effect. sounds like few/nobody made it out of that one room

Im at work reading about this and I'm trying to hold back my tears. Horrible stuff, I feel for these children and their parents.

I literally cannot grasp this, like I can't get my mind around this. He basically slaughtered these children... It's just so unfathomable. :(

If we have to wait after every tragedy to discuss the implications of our politics, then we will just be constantly mourning with no opportunity of reform.

We are using made-up scenarios as arguments now? If the government invested as many billions in gun control (preventing illegal gun purchases) as they do in the war against drugs these two killings could have been prevented for sure.
Two can play the same game.

We're not using made up scenarios. We're simply discussing the question of whether we are going to be simple-minded enough to believe that someone who can and desires to kill a dozen kids would simply cancel his massacre plans because he can't buy his gun over the counter. Point being, there are many, many ways to get a gun in the US illegally. It's pretty easy, actually. That's the problem, and adding certain rules and regulations will only result in those alternative acquisition options becoming more popular. We could put a 6 month or YEAR delay on purchasing a gun, but I believe people with bad intentions will then just go through other means. Believe as you see fit, however.

ending gun shows would be a good place to start.

I'm not too familiar with the gun show issue.

So normally I don't mind gun banter and cluttering up threads with stats, but I'm now a little sick having read the results of this massacre, while having a kindergartener of my own.

I would literally do anything to have this not happen to someone. This is horrible.

Jesus. I can't imagine the fear, the confusion, the inability to comprehend, the panic in the minds of mere kindergarteners. To shoot a child, it's unfathomable to me. Stupid fucker, I wish hell was real for assholes like this.

Completely heartbreaking. As a Criminology major, I'm not even sure how to attempt to try and figure out what was going inside this person's mind. 18 children, how can you honestly gun down such innocence is beyond me. So sorry for the parents and the community, especially around the holiday season.

Press conference is starting now by the way.

Guys, Guys, it's ok, it was just video games! Nothing wrong with guns at all, just those nasty video games again!

Don't worry, Fox News said so, all is well!

I believe the anti-social behavior builds up resentment towards others and society. They feel rejected from it and then lash out to get back at that society and the ones that enjoy it.

This is a symptom of a national (perhaps
global) disease.

Although I feel gun laws may help its just a bandaid.

I'm really freaked out, depressed and way more cynical. This type of stuff gives me social anxiety.

edit: clarifying due to the post above. I'm scared to go out in public due to random violent outbursts and killings.

27 people...

The most sickening thing?
Gun nuts will flood their local gun shops and buy more guns because the black president is going to take them from us.

Just like every other fucking shooting...

Fuck Phosphor quit acting like every gun owner is a damn KKK grand wizard doomsday prepper. Some of us just like to hunt and have home protection like normal people.

I'm having a hard time trying to understand why ANYONE would shoot at an elementary school...besides it being an easy target :(
I guess it's the ultimate "goodbye and fuck you" to society to destroy something so innocent and cherished on your way out :(

Either that or just complete delusion...

Seriously. No parent should have signed off on this after such an event.

give the parents some slack right now not one parent whose kid goes to that school is thinking in their right mind... most are probably half way crazy with worry and relief and sorrow right now.
