Giantbomb GOTY 2012 Thread: Videos, Top 10's, and podcasts lots and lots of podcasts.

Spoiled, thanks.
Probably for the best to watch the content, then read the thread?

While people should follow spoiler etiquette, it's pretty obvious spoilers are going to be coming fast and loose within the thread as the podcasts get released.

Bummer. This year's GOTY thing should have been entirely done in that WWE creation thing. Every second scene would be Jeff running someone over with a car.

The Office parody was stellar! I can see what all the buzz about Vinny and Drew knocking it out of the park was all about, it was so well produced.

Patrick's reaction to Brad's no1 GOTY :lol

I think the "different show every day" is gonna happen, can't wait to see the comical RAGE product placement in the inevitable Breaking Bad parody!

Production is amazing, really enjoyed the first episode. I feel the moment where Shepard uses an Ipod to disarm a man accurately conveys how ludicrous Brad's GotY choice is this year.
Still better than last years thought.

Video was chuckle worthy. I like the guys trying new things. Haven't watched the show it's based on in years though. Think I stopped at season 4.

The way brad is talking about this Levithian DLC, it sounds like it really should have maybe been part of the actual game....

Regarding Brad's #1 pick,
even with the changes to the ending and the Leviathan DLC, ME3 is just...not a great game. Not within the series, not within the year. Calling it the best game of the year is saying it's okay for developers to take constant shortcuts, cut fundamental corners, and generally not pace your game very well at all. There are other third person shooters this year that are better-written and better playing than ME3.

I mean, that he played it and enjoyed it, good for him. I wish that were true for me, but it very much isn't.

Even with the additions I still think the ending is too hokie for the series. Beyond that extremely disappointing aspect, I'd still list it in my top 10 because the highs are definitely very high, even though many aspects were clearly very rushed. Still my biggest disappointment and even in a slow year it wouldn't come close to my top spot

At least Brad sticks to his guns and doesn't let the others sway his opinion. He won't have the power to push this one through though.

I'm just mostly baffled by Brad's choice since hasn't he said things like
Far Cry 3 was the most fun he had playing a game this year, and also gone on about Mark of the Ninja and a couple of other games? Outside of the fact that I just can't agree with his choice even with the way he experienced it, it just seems like a weird choice based on the way he's spoken about other games.

Ryan pointing out how weird it is that Brad's representation of his GOTY is a $10 download released months later is spot-on.

Also, that scene where
Commander Shepard attacks a man by throwing an iPad at him is Superman "throwing his logo"
levels of astounding.

I love this. It's not their kind of funny, it's... Office funny, so, perfect. Can't wait to see what other shows they do over the week.

This is the first time I've seen
ME3
DLC (haven't touched the game again since release). Is this how they handle squad mates in DLC? Can't get all the voice actors back so they force a default one on you?

EDIT: Nvm, his chosen squad mates just spoke a line.

Oh snap, Brad is pulling out all the stops really early on. If this is how things get started, I can't wait to see how things will end.

Brilliant work on day one, guys. Major props to Vinny and Drew on the editing and production for the stuff. I honestly wouldn't mind if this was a real show, haha.
Patrick's "They told me I could be the alien." line and Jeff's enthusiastic walk/music stuff in the office had me in hysterics.

Man, and now the podcast. It's goty time, and it feels like it!

Holy fucking shit, seeing this DLC is only making me more angry. The fucking idiocy that Bioware had to release this months after, and for money is goddamn insulting.

OMG I just started watching the recap. Jeff is amazing XD

Having just relisten to the famous Minerva's Den GOTY debate, I can't imagine how his opinion there and here are going to make sense without a heap of cognitive dissonance going on.
