I found that last avatar I had:

This was like three weeks or something if I remember right; it's a small pic (and I don't see the source anymore) but you can kind of tell the moustache isn't coming in that well. I think after the fourth week I trimmed it down to the goatee and moustache for a while but didn't wear it for that long.

I'll do another four week period and see if it's acceptable but I'll probably pull it back down to a goatee again.

Wow, I think you'll find it grow in well. Three weeks is not enough time to judge as different hairs grow at different rates. Give it a couple months to have all the hairs catch up, then shave down to a shorter length if you want.

Tried that, lost over and over again. Whenever I try to grow a mustache, let alone one that's actually "connected" to the rest, it looks incredibly stupid and half-assed. If I don't shave, I just look like a rag rug. Hate it

3.41 GPA, lowest mark an A-

Damn, what kind of grading scheme are they using? My uni has A- @ 3.7. I got two A-, an A and an A+ (though A and A+ are both 4.0 here) for an avg of 3.85.

I've been meaning to do something radical to mine as well.

I cut it short when I was 19, 7 years later I cant even handle it long anymore. It's about 3-4 inches long on the sides right now and it's driving me crazy. I used to dye it all the time too, had part of it a dark, forest green, but I'm too old for it now. Dyed it again at 25 and felt so out of place, had to redye it two days later. Couldn't handle the radical
