I got grudge sucked!
and the rest of their catologue you couldn't be bothered with (or even hate)

And no this isn't a stealth Weezer thread

this is one of the best alternative pop rock records of the decade, I still love it today. The rest of UO's stuff bored me.

Speaking of Weezer, Rooney's self titled album really brought back vibes of the Blue Album, in some ways it felt like a better successor to it than anything Weezer released. It has those same catchy tight melodies the blue album did. From what I've heard of Ronney's two other records, they kinda suck.

At one time I thought I really liked The Verve, but the truth is I just really love A Storm in Heaven, which is a gorgeous album. I have A Northern Soul, Forth and the one with the hit song on it. None of those are even remotely close to being as good as this one.

and one more thing

The Killers - Hot Fuss

The singles for the later albums haven't done that much for me so I've never dug into any of the albums. All the singles seem less... charged.

New Pornographers. Mass Romantic is awesome and I can't get into anything else.

Wolf Parade. Apologies to the Queen Mary was awesome, none of the others caught my fancy.

Fort Minor, The Rising Tied.

I must have been the only person on the planet who liked the album; the production especially. I remember finding out like a year or more after its release that one of the members had ties with Linkin Park; maybe thats why noone cared lol.

Really an amazing album. Most people have probably only heard I Ran and Space Age Love Song but the whole album is really great.

But their later stuff, meh.

Tool - ænima

Album of my lifetime and still is. I'm on my 8th copy currently. I was 14 in '96 upon it's release and it forever changed my whole view, philosophy....whatever, about music.

You break my heart. : (

Check out their Verve EP and No Come Down EP, if you like A Storm in Heaven.

I have the No Come Down EP (with the Verve Pinball machine on the cover) its not bad and definitely in line with Storm, but nowhere as good.

I almost felt the same about Doves because I listened to (and still listen to ) Lost Souls constantly, but I grew to really like their other releases.

wow, this is surprising. protection is one of the best albums like...ever.

Mezzanine is my favorite, I love the dark moodiness of it, but Blue Lines and Protection are also quite nice. 100th Window and Heligoland are a bit spotty.

Yep, I loved Protection the song itself when I first heard it, but it was Mezzanine that made me fall in love with them album-wise. The moody and darkness of the album was a contrast to what I was listening too during the time it came out.

Is This It by The Strokes. One of the all time greats imo.

Their other albums range from decent to mediocre. Makes me sad

Here's a couple weird selections:

Black Sheep: A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing

So listenable, front to back. Production was ridiculous. Lyrics on point. Fun as hell. Listened to their second album like twice, don't remember any of it, never went back to it.

Harvey Danger: Where Have All the Merrymakers Gone

There's maybe two songs on this thing I feel like skipping. But the instant I realized that Carlotta Valdez was actually a song about "Vertigo," and then of course "Flagpole Sitta" and "Jack the Lion.." great album.

Total garbage. I don't know how anyone could like this POS.

;)

Stone Roses...This would be more interesting if you could only name bands that released one full-length throughout their entire discography.

I mean, I'm putting this down because I don't really give a shit about Hieroglyphics and the Gorillaz' first album ain't really Del's album (even though it is).

My friends obsessed with Justice's first album. Has their logo (the cross) tattooed all up his arm. He hates their 2nd album lol.

I still don't understand how this is possible, but I always here this. Not even VS or Vitalogy?

Editors with The back Room. Their subsequent albums have been rather rubbish, but that debut album is just perfect.

Agreed, I still listen to the back room, but the rest is zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

I don't understand how you like Blue, but dislike Pinkerton. Pinkerton is easily the best thing they ever did.

i don't know if i "absolutely love" Is a Real Boy..., but it is certainly better than anything bemis has put out since. i'm going to be posting a lot of absolutepunk bands in this thread.
