Man, how many trins are there on GAF now? I'm being copied!

I've been playing Tera recently and I tried to make a character with my real name (which is, uh, very unusual) but it was taken. Lissar wasn't taken though, surprisingly.

You ever make a character on an MMO or what have you and you get the message "That name is already taken." and you think "But that's my name!"

That feel. Right now :(

Especially when you've been using the same username on everything for well over a decade. Sometimes I feel the need to hunt all other "Kitsunebaby"s down and I don't even like this username anymore.

Ha! You're kidding, I did the same thing a few days ago! Had to settle for Trinnity in the end.

The game itself is a little underwhelming though. Glad I didn't pony up the cash after the beta weekend.

Exactly.

GW2 is the worst for that. I shockingly managed to get Fiction and November on wow a few years ago though, on a day one server even!

I could see the battle system working well in a group. So far I've just been playing with a couple friends at lower levels though, so not too exciting. I'm playing a priest, so I pretty much HAVE to play with others to get the most out of it and not have battles take forever. Story and quests are boring, but I didn't expect much on that front. Only MMO I've played with good quests and story has been The Secret World (which I'm currently taking a break from.)

I had a dream I was in a meeting with a bunch of GAFers and before the meeting started there was a giant CRT TV showing the title screen in Hotline Miami.

After that, we went out for Chinese.

I didn't get to order, the waitresses were all singing and dancing inside and they wouldn't let us in; they were overcapacity or something. Then I woke up. :(

Would have jumped on the bandwagon last year already if I weren't too clinging to actual avatars. Alternative I found was to set a picture of me as my homepage.

Huh, I used to have hair like yours. Sometimes I miss my long hair...

EDIT: changed my homepage to my pic too. I absolutely refuse to change my avatar.

Might have to shorten them for them to fall onto my shoulders soon for professional reasons. As much as I get tidy whenever it comes to them, their great length still doesn't make me look really serious, rather geeky.

Yeah, I know what that's like. It's aaaaall about the image. Long hair is neat to have, but it really does convey a certain image on guys. Just find a good short style that works for you. My hair was basically my security blanket all throughout college. After much anguish, I finally went super-short after having it shoulder-blade-length for SEVEN YEARS. I was surprised at how overwhelmingly positive a response I got.

Hilariously enough, when I went to the stylist, I showed her this image.

So what online games are you guys playing recently?

I've been playing way too much Planetside 2 with a sprinkle of League of Legends...

Last few months I've been playing only casual games on my Nexus 7. No gaming PC and sold my console. I probably won't start really gaming till I can afford a PC that can run games on the oculus rift. I WANT!

It's not bad, though when Planetside 2 came out I kinda stopped playing...
I have a fully leveled Thief...
Still have it installed...

I have a friend who gave me a free copy. We were gonna play, but I never actually joined him. MMOs are just too daunting for me.

I know that feel bro. Had a lot of social anxiety as well while I was still studying. Started long before college actually, when I was, like, 11. Eventually I got more confident more by the time, but that wasn't because I got a hair-cut, rather just for getting more mature.

That article convinced me to keep on being longhair once I got over my hard-rock/metal phase around 15. However, I've figured more by the time all what the guy said about professional discrimination is far from being as simple in reality as he makes it sound in his article.

If a potential employer wants to discuss your hair, offer to negotiate style, but never length. A style can be dissembled at five o'clock if you don't care for it. Length changes take so long to repair that the change will seem permanent.

You should never cut hair with the idea that you will "get the job and then grow it back". Longhairs report that it is far more difficult to grow long hair on a job than it is to keep it if you already had it. Employers will think, "He was shorthaired when I hired him, so he certainly can live with being shorthaired now!"

My family is extremely liberal so that they never "forced" me to cut them, albeit they have always made clear they would much rather me to have them short. Coincidentally, I decided to jump on the bandwagon after reading your two posts and asked my mother to cut them for them to go no longer than my shoulders. I'm not exactly satisfied with the new haircut, makes me have a "squared" face, but at least the hair aren't as messy. I plan to update my picture as soon as I become a Member. That will be my 300th post.

As orthodox as this one sounds: Dissidia. Been at it for four years now. Surely not going to stop any time soon.

Only game I've been playing is Tera.

It's not so fun that I could see myself ever having paid a subscription for it (so far I haven't played any MMOs that have been THAT fun for me) but it's fun that as F2P I could see myself dropping by and playing it every once and awhile.

Just got a horse today! :O On the other hand I got a new outfit and lost body coverage. D: I fear for the future.

I had no idea that having long hair was a minority group that needs protecting along the lines of black or gay people.

Yeah, I've realized he does put a lot of emphasis on the trend now that I've taken the time to read the whole article again. I was 16 when I read it for the first time. I still don't expect long-hairs to be taken any seriously in business tho. Seems like a scientists' thing, if anything.

Months half over but what the hey, I already use my face on twitter for the time being.

Panty/stocking avatar was 2 years old anyway.
